We had 2 players leave the field with cut heads, they were leading with elbows, Semenyo was being repeatedly fouled (just because the awful Ward didn’t see it, doesn’t mean there weren’t more fouls than awarded). Scott at times, too.

There was a lot of sly, off the ball stuff going on, if you didn’t see it, that’s down to you.

I think they singled out Semenyo for special attention today. He was shoved, pulled, kicked and grabbed continuously, I think I'd be pretty pissed of with that!

I stepped back after posting as I didn't want to get into a heated debate - again, apologies if my post was strong but (as you may have too) seen first-hand what can happen to people who are gay (or trans as you know)

I agree that the sooner it's not a "thing" the better, but I think we all know it is. Statistically, there is likely to be footballers in this country who are gay and feel they have to hide it for fear of backlash.

It wasn't the opinion that made it immature (in my opinion), it was the language used.

This misses the point, have you ever had to hide your sexuality? Avoid taking your partner to a social gathering? Been attacked simply for who you are attracted to? If not, then you don't understand. No one comes out because they think it's "interesting", they're normalising it.

@nebristolredhas made the point really well so I don't need to repeat it further.

My point is along the lines of the sooner it's not a thing rather than not caring about the individuals position. I despair at the continual need to label people which only makes them stand out as being different. It`s time the media, govt, education authorities employers et al were encouraged to celebrate the things we all have in common, then hopefully whether someone is gay, straight, black, white will be less relevant.

  3. Remember it well. Italian fans served water in plastic bottles which rained down on England fans for most of the game, England fans served in Polystyrene cups. Don't think the Carabinieri were expecting quite so many England fans and chaos ensued. Kept in cages after the game until gone 2am. A very tense night and a well deserved point.

I remain unconvinced about that - City reached the play off final that season. That particular season couldn’t have been such a grind as some make out.

Well I guess watching football is much more of a grind if someone spanked your arse so hard you can barely sit down. I think it's about time you stopped your pathetic anti GJ diatribe and find another game to play, it's becoming boring and making you look like a childish fool.

  5. Should have won that today. It wasn't just the horrible defensive mistake we had good chances. Successful teams are more clinical. They were terrified of Semenyo when he came on so why not use that? Hopefully Massengo was substituted to stop any last minute offers, James and Williams are not mobile or creative and invite pressure. Scott is not a right wing back and should be in the middle. But we have the makings of something very positive and will only improve and I am sure we are doing much better than many thought.

Totally agree and to be fair to them and I don't like to be, they took over 400 for a Tuesday night in Barnsley, not too shabby.

Bearing in mind they're nailed on for promotion and will be Prem league in 2 years I am a bit surprised, but I guess there's problems with rail strikes and weather and it's difficult moving 10s of thousands of people in and out of Yorkshire on a Tues evening so I think the mocking is a bit uncalled for.
