  1. We weren't interested in him in Jan, didn't want him on a free when we could have, and it wasn't us who made the bid. Rumor has it it's Charlton, but yano, you do you.
  2. Didn't you average 11K and 12K when you were last in League 1? - Just checked, and yep, In fact your average for the past 7 seasons has been 11.5K but here you are beating on like you get 27K every week. If we had a shiny new stadium like you, and were playing in the Championship we would get crowds just as "high" as yours. Congratulations on spending millions upon millions, on players, the stadium and god knows what else, and still being shit.
  3. Proved that by bidding £10M+ for players and then refusing to pay the wages that £10M players seek.
  4. Any club who fully looks at the circumstances surrounding that when it comes to hiring DC will understand that he wasn't responsible for us going down.
  5. Any club who fully looks at the circumstances surrounding that when it comes to hiring DC will understand that he wasn't responsible for us going down.
  6. They won't be by the time we play them.... Joking aside, we won't go up and it looks like you may just survive. Disagree about the comments that DC has taken us as far as he can, he's the man to keep taking the club forward and he has a very bright future as a manager.
  7. Should have just had a look at your point return since Oct 29th. 9 points? Even Rotherham have picked up more. Even if you support City it must be hard not to have a chuckle at. That was the point I was making. This doesn't happen, not sure why you lot are so adamant it does. But, even if it did happen, it's not as if you're sat mid table and we would be cheering for no reason is it? 15M spent and you look likely to go down based on form since Oct. And all those threads at the start of the season raving about how you were gonna go up. Christ.
  8. Word of advice, probably best to worry sooner rather than later
  9. Haven't you got bigger things to worry about than the goals in our game?
  10. But you still spent a couple of million. My facts are right "pal". It's a "god awful league" but you had to spend millions to get out of it whilst seriously struggling in it the season before. If it's so awful why did you have to spend millions to have any success in the league? You finished 11 points clear, not sure that's "pretty comfortably". You spent millions before you even sold Baldock, you were spending regardless. Thanks for the bites lads.
  11. Didn't you almost get relegated from the god awful division and then resorted to spending a couple of million to get out of it?
  12.. If they weren't sending offs the clubs could have successfully appealed, but they didn't even bother. If we're getting penalties consistently, that's not luck, that tells you we're getting into positions often enough to create problems for the other team. Are all your late goals to rescue points and get you wins this season luck? No. It feels great doesn't it, having a team who don't give up and will keep giving 110% until the game is up. As a fan of Rovers who have scored plenty of late goals in the past two years, I'll be the first to tell you to enjoy having a team who never stop trying, because it's not going to last forever and in a few years time we could both have a team of donkeys again, although admittedly your team of donkeys will be better.
  13. I know it's the internet and sarcasm doesn't come across all too well, but yeah, it was sarcasm.
  14. Not sure where I mentioned that? Yes keep adding imaginary quotes.
  15. Obviously not. Teams would obviously want to sign a player who scored 27 goals last season on a free contact. He's took his time and probably got himself the best offer he could from Rovers.
  16. As far as I'm aware the build time was 18 months, and I don't think you can move stadiums midway through a season?
  17. Even if UWE got the go ahead tomorrow we still wouldn't be in it for two years at the very least. It's a short term improvement.
  18. I like the way we do things, much rather a decent player potentially leave on a free than have a load of shit on far more than they're worth with a three year contract to run.
  19. Care to name him? A lot of time for players who take the time out of their day to speak to their fans!
  20. Doubt it. He said when he came in that there's no "five year plan", we're just going to take each season as it comes which seems like the sensible approach. I'm more than happy to give DC a few years in League One, but then again I'm not the owner and we'll start to see what they're about this summer and when we're not doing too well. I'm sure it's been mentioned on here but apparently we're in for Wagstaff.
  21. I wasn't trying to create excuses or make it sound like we were down before DC took charge, obviously we went down because we were unable to beat a team who had nothing to play for on the last day when everything seemed to be in our favor. I'm just trying to get across that over a number of seasons in League 2 we were poor, and it just felt like sooner or later we were gonna get relegated. We had it coming in a sense that we were being run horribly both on and off the pitch for a few years. It was, but I'm still not sure he would have kept us up. Ward played far too defensively and wouldn't have got what seemed to be 3 massive points against against Wycombe.
  22. I feel you've missed the point a little. Just because we were on the pitch singing about staying up doesn't mean that we didn't have relegation coming. Obviously after that result we thought we would stay up, and I expect the majority of you were thinking "Lucky bastards have done it again". I don't remember calls for a promotion push that season, definitely the season before when Ward took over and we were in with a shout of a late push until Bradford put them dreams to bed. We flirted with relegation every year in the League after relegation from League One, and it was turning into a case of when, not if, we get relegated. We were getting dicked by teams like York and Hartlepool 4-0. We deserved to be relegated and had done for a few seasons. I would like to know how you feel DC wasn't chucked in at the deep end though. Chucking him in with 8 games to go was a horrible decision.
  23. We were heading to the conference anyway. DC was thrown in at the deep end and he's brought us back much stronger. I don't think many Rovers fans blame him for us falling out of the league, we had it coming. Whatever way you look at things, It's a good time to be a Rovers fan right now. You have to enjoy the good times because they don't happen often!
