  1. Singing players from non league doesn't mean they are non league. They proved this season they're amongst the best in league two. Whether they can step up or not is a different matter, I'm sure some will with ease and others will struggle. Just because everyone is being offered a contract doesn't mean it's on better terms than their current one and I'm sure some will turn it down and leave like we saw with Balanta and Monkhouse last season.
  2. If you chuck in the other 417 page thread about us then you got a deal.
  3. I hope DC is smart enough not to go there. That's no disrespect to Leeds, more so their owner as the article clearly points out he's trigger happy. I wasn't worried when he was put in at 12/1 or whatever but he's down to evens now in the space of a few hours. For what it's worth Super, the tinpot comment was clearly sarcastic.
  4. Said Super, in his 147th post of the thread. You have 319 posts in a thread about Bristol Rovers. Can you not? You probably went to Wembley then right? Good view of the penalty? I would love to have a conversation with you Peter, but you don't half talk some shit for someone with a combined 659 posts, and counting, about us. What you can do though, is show me a picture of a Rovers top in the Walsall end at Wembley when you were there. Or do they not exist?
  5. The thing is, there are not often threads about you on "Asschat" and nothing anywhere near the level of the obsession on here. Lets not forget your 417 page NLBR thread, thats 623 pages in total, or 24,882 posts in two years on a team you apparently couldn't care about. Even with your huge threads you still manage to create separate ones that have to be merged. What's funny is that the top four posters in this thread make up 1/8th of the total posts, and they're also four who claim they don't care about us and that we're obsessed. Imagine storming the league, winning the JPT and then going in the Grimsby end at Wembley to witness the winning penalty up close.
  6. So we done it! Can't believe it really and still in shock. I know to you lot it's just little league one but after relegation from the league things could have got much worse but we came back so much stronger. Yesterday was one of the most dominant games I've ever saw and it really had the feeling to it that Accrington would slip up but so would we. I guess now is the time to see if Wael is as good as we all hope, one thing is for sure and he can't do a worse job than Higgs managed! Keeping hold of DC will be key, he's not had the budget the likes of Buckle, McGhee and Ward had in league 2 and something like 16 of our squad were part of the conference squad and he built a squad that really played for eachother, and there was really no stand out players, everyone just worked their socks off and played for the shirt. So basically it's 2007/08 all over again with City being in the Championship and Rovers in League One. I feel we're better prepared for it this time but I would snap your hands off if we were offered 20th now. Your season will be interesting and I know it's way too early to be making predictions but if you recruit well I can see you having a good go next season. Both of us will be fending off offers for our top striker and you no doubt have the money to say no, I'm just hoping we do too now!
  7. I don't want to burst your bubble but this thread had 94 posts on day 1 and the NLBR thread had 125. Threads obviously start to die after awhile so it's a bit unfair to compare a whole thread over a year to a thread made after a day or two. Unfortunately your threads seem to be a bit like the "oh yes" thread we used to have for you, and we've had two good seasons regardless of what league we're in. At the end of the day you can only beat what's put in front of you. I avoid threads about you on our forum as if I was to read anything about your lot, I would do so on here! Both clubs have fans who care a little too much about the other but that's football. I came on here as I'm a tad nervous and can't sleep, was half hoping you were all wishing us luck! Regardless of tomorrows outcome, this season has been fantastic and totally gone above and beyond my expectations and whether we end up going up or not I'm not too bothered by it. Obviously I would like us to go up but it isn't the end of the world if we don't. You might think I'm easy to please but after years of tossers like Buckle and McGhee it's so refreshing to have a manager raising our expectations rather than telling us to lower them. Congratulations on staying up, was only about a month into the season I was reading on here how you were doomed and going back down so I went and stuck my house on it. ******s.
  8. Still a very tough ask IMO. Stevenage not mathematically safe yet and could just sit back for the point they need, but unless a miracle happens they should be safe regardless and if they go into the game with this mentality we should able to grab a few and boost the GD. As for Exeter they're in great form and are second in the form table behind us. 4 Points from these two games and I expect a very nervous fight for third and we may have to go through the playoffs, but if we take 6/6 I'd like to think we'll finish in the autos. We were totally dominant over Exeter at their place earlier in the season and only came away with a point, both sides have improved since then so I feel like this is the game that decides whether we're going up automatically, or have to chance it again in the playoffs.
  9. Shouldn't have expected a reply other than that when using the EP as a reference... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Rovers_F.C.#Kit_suppliers_and_sponsors To be fair me and plenty of others have questioned the decision to ban City fans. I can understand if a City fan has come onto the forum and done nothing but troll, likewise would expect a Rovers fan on here to get the same treatment but to ban just for being a City fan is a bit petty IMO and if it was up to me it wouldn't happen. On another note, congratulations to Oskar on winning the Supporter of the Year. Thoroughly deserved and I'm sure I speak for every Rovers fan in wishing him all the best for the future.
  10. http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristol-Rovers-land-big-cash-boost-shirt-sponsorship-draw/story-11242084-detail/story.html I don't think an extra couple of thousand really matters to teams in the Prem, whether it be 2009 or 2016.
  11. Doesn't matter whether they are multinational or not to me. There was a article a few years back when we first did it about how we raised more in sponsorship than at the time premiership clubs Bolton and Wigan. Wigan were sponsored by 188Bet that year I believe and received £50,000, we were sponsored by N-Gaged(fix) and received £85,000. The main thing is that we raise a lot more than the majority if not all League 2 & 1 clubs by doing this and a lot more than if we sought out a individual sponsor directly. As for being sponsored by a boozer, you lot like laugh but it doesn't bother me. Local business that took their chance in the draw, at-least their logo looks decent on the shirts compared to some of the crap we've had in recent years! Now being sponsored by Vanarama... it sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it.
  12. Some companies purchased multiple tickets, so the final amount would be more. Not bad really, we wouldn't get this much in sponsorship if we didn't do it this way.
  13. League 2 and still constantly taking more away to grubbier places than you take? You talk about how we talk about away attendances a lot, but it's only because you talk about home attendances. I wouldn't expect any different though, you do need to have some bragging rights. I'll leave you all to mourn over the fact you lost against your rivals today x
  14. Sorry, probably couldn't get over the fact that our hugely supported neighbours yet again failed to take less than us to a similar distanced game. Nope. Just another game where we take 4 digits. How many times you done that this season?
  15. It was 2-1 before the sending off took place.
