  1. It's half time. We're 1-0 down to a consistently solid Championship side. Clearly a good time to have a meltdown. Congratulations mate.
  2. I have nothing but excitement for where the club really is, and where we're heading at the moment. That's where the 'promise' you have identified comes from. I see no problem with relying on our striker to score goals?
  3. For those at the game: Too many changes at once with formation and personnel?
  4. I thought the clean sheet was as important as any points today. Only one thing for it then - 2 goals, 3 points! This side certainly has character - time to see what they're made of again.
  5. Not sure what you expect of a left back?! Very solid v Newcastle and provided a good attacking outlet with Freeman down the left. Just didn't get passed to.
  6. This time last season I'd have snapped your hand off for a point. They're a very good side when they get going. Things have changed with us, but I'm still conscious that come the end of the season Derby really ought to be ahead of us. Their goal drought won't last forever but I'm going for a 1-0 win with the clean sheet being far more important to us moving forward than the possible 3 points. Their defensive record is impressive, and we really need to be more clinical than we have been and take our chances. However, their defence hasn't played a Tammy before...
  7. I can't comprehend the meltdown. We're all gutted, but seriously? Some of these comments are outrageous. Tomlin - There's a fair chance we'd be playing in league one without him. When he missed the penalty we were still winning 2-1. He is not responsible for the end result! Yes RO'D's error was a howler. Yes GO'N should have done better. We're a work in progress. 13+ new players, all learning each other's games, having played less than 8 matches together. The knee jerk reaction to a new team is embarrassing. We're already showing so much more promise than last season which constitutes progress. Clearly that's not enough for those who suddenly expect us to be challenging for the top spots after a season spent fighting relegation. The comments talking about promotion and playoffs when we go 1-0 up is as clear an indication of the fickle nature of 'in the moment' comments. Lets take a minute to recall where we were last year, where we are now. Less than a quarter of the season gone, and we've just lost to a team who have strengthened over the summer after being one result away from the Premiership last season. i get the passion, and the in the heat of the moment disappointment. But let's save the pathetic abuse of the players who will be as gutted as any of us. Time to support, supporters.
  8. Closing down the 40 yard shot because that's the only option he has because we've marked everyone else out of a pass? Yeah close him down.
  9. I'm only looking at the replay, but why has he gone in on him there? No need with the defense covering. Just track your man!
  10. Oh Aden. Crisis. At least those errors are out the way in one go. I'd have settled for a point before the match, and it's only good that we're disappointed we didn't win. We're creating chances. Korey coming back will be such a boost, arguably our best player for the last two seasons and hopefully shore us up at the back. Got to admire the character to equalise and still push for the win. Exciting times.
  11. And that @Andy082005 is why you can't write things off after a poor start! Great result
  12. conceding goals is part and parcel. We'll concede plenty more this season. Some we'll win, and some we'll lose. Cant give up after 5 mins!
  13. Well that's been an interesting half hour! The match feels like a bit of a sideshow all of a sudden. Hope the players remain more focussed than I am right now. Good to see Joe back. Flint and Hordur have their work cut out containing their front 2 this afternoon. Baker on the bench for Villa.
  14. Cracking as always @havanatopia Your match day thread is part of my match day ritual, so you have to continue next season! With new teams coming up and down, where will I be without some artistically crafted geographical and historical research to set things up before kick off? I'm going for 2-2 today in a fairly relaxed open game. Kodjia to bag at least one. Merry summer one and all. I look forward to the extremely lengthy threads of all our impending transfers. COYR
  15. They're on holiday already. I'd have liked to have seen us go all out in the last two matches. 16th still attainable.
  16. Seems a cautious selection to me. Get some pace on, JK and PO. If I'm a defender I know I'd rather have Wilbs to deal with than that pair
  17. That is some return for a first season. Particularly considering the season we've had. And he still gets abuse from some on here. Seriously
