    Exactly what I said.

Ah so I missed out "lots are though".

This thread is about SOTC I thought ?

    Is that not so?

No I didn't. I said most people aren't interested in Bristol City men and lots of people are interested in women's football.

Yes, more people support the men's team but if all football reporting was only about the most popular teams, local radio would be so much the poorer.

    Read your own post !

Rovers are 1/3 the size of City but get at least equal media attention.

Absolutely fine theres a slot for women, im just picking up your obvious inaccuracies and making the point that some teams of genuine inrerest to City fans barely get a look in by their own club let alone the general media.

Im talking Bristol City not Manchester City. You referred to most people being disinterested in the mens team and huge numbers being interested in the womens team.

I dont think figures bear out those assertions.

I have no evidence, but I suspect the majority of City fans whether male or female have more interest in the so called pathway teams rather than the womens team for the obvious reason the next Scott or Semenyo is involved.

However, those sides get zilch exposure compared to the womens team, which I guess is ok by you.

I think the comments on this thread are ok really - so it shouldn't be disappointing that people don't hold the same opinion.

Doesnt suit his raison d'etre so will disappoint him.

Is this people likely to listen to SOTC, watch City matches,  or generally?

Either way there is really no comparison in terms of interest between the two versions of the sport.

Despite all the moaning about Manning I just had a quick look at the last 5 results for every team in the Championship and guess what we are top with 11 points, now tell me honestly if that was our previous manager's record over the last 5 games this forum would be dreaming of better times ahead, it's a results business and you can't say manning at last is not getting them.

Season isnt over 5 games is it.

Didnt post in the womens team thread as a fundamental question about the set up of the womens game.

There are rules in the men game like FFP that stop Lansdown or any other owner just pouring money in. Even then the prices are so large that it would cost 100s of millions to achieve anything in the top division.

What are the rules in the WSL? I think the world record for a womens transfer is about 500k?

What stops lansdown spending 10 millon and having one of the best , if not the best womens team in the world ?

Are there FFP rules and if so how is it governed? If it's based on revenue etc do womens team publish accounts etc? How does their commercial revenue compare to our mens team.

Be interesting to see, if the WSL grows like some are suggesting it will whether it goes through an episode like the mens game had when Abramovich came in and 'bought the league '.

    Thoughts ?

P.s. no comments on lansdown not putting his hands in his pockets because hes lansdown !!

Maybe he thinks its overhyped and the arse will drop out of it sooner rather than later.

Of course hes shown over decades that he knows jackshit on football matters.

Barely anyone is ‘embarassed’ by the Wurzels. People cling to pillars of regional identity and they get passed on just as successfully through the generations today as they always have. A strong sense of regional identity continues to hold across the entire country from place to place and with devolution movements growing and being successfully implemented these regionalist sentiments are only getting stronger. It’s one of the things that makes England and the UK interesting. Our national identity may be a bit confused sometimes but from city to city, region to region we have such a stretch of cultures, dialect, even language. It’s a great positive way forward for pride of place in this country that most people can get behind. Which is also why the songs of the Wurzels, particularly those written by Adge Cutler, remain just as relevant as ever to folk of all ages in the West Country. He sang about life in rural Somerset, where a lot of City fans are from, and in many of those places the essence of life is much the same as it was when he sang about his experiences.

    Wurzels died with Adge imo.

This may sound a little harsh but I think it’s time we left the Wurzels in the 70s. We need a new anthem, kids of today aren’t going to belt this music out.

I know I will be in the minority here.

I agree with you, I find them cringeworthy.

She done ok. Thought she gave some very soft decisions, mainly in our favour. One in particular where Tanner had the ball nicked off him down in our own corner in the first half which she called a very generous foul on.

What I did find strange was the incident where she fell after colliding with Conway (I think), stayed down for a bit probably a little embarrassed and then got up. All that is well and good. But then James checked on her and out his arm around her, and having a laugh at what happened she put her arm around James waist. Is that acceptable on both parts because she is female? Wouldn’t have happened like that if it was a male ref surely?

    Why not?

    Good interaction imo.

These next couple of home games massive for him to prove his worth. At only 24, 4-5 million may not seem to bad, especially with the market prices these days.

Does he even want to come here?

Burnley will be in the champ next season and would very likely make use of him.

Also lots more win bonuses with them no doubt !

How the hell do you make Henry Winter redundant? Possibly the best journo out there as his awards display. Yes, liked Lee Johnson a bit much but on the whole he’s a great read. Is it that the Times aren’t going to cover football any more as who do they genuinely get that’s better?

    Everton's new signing.

The question is can he be coach here to fill his potential?  Manning has the experience to do so.

    Really?

    Genuine question btw.

I do like the Birdcage but I fancy that the Wickwar Coffee Shop is friendlier? Better than Boswells by a country mile!

One of the many things that I despise about modern day football when players make such a meal out of minimal contact in an attempt to con the referee or break up the flow of the game.

Looks absolutely ridiculous and even worse when they grab hold of an area of their body that hasn’t actually been touched.

Punishment should be a month in the Toolstation or equivalent.

Depends what part of BS4 you mean, you can buy two houses in Yate for the cost of any of the BS4 houses on and bordering the Wells Road, Briz is sound as well, as for my old haunt KW, that's a different matter !!!!!

    Haha, love it🤣

Confess I cant read you 😁

However sorry but you know jack.

Loads of 500k plus houses in Yate.

My former houses in Sandy Park and Knowle dont come close.

Not many Bristolians own those houses off the Wells Road unfortunately.

What riles me us the casual abuse/disdain Would the poster call residents of inner city suburbs mutants ?

    Dont think so.

Big City presence in Yate, but dont think a bus is needed matchday to be honest.

Wow a tongue in cheek response to BCR and the mutants of Yate unite 🤣

The town centre is a big success story and the residents love it.

Glad to hear it's more red than blue these days...

More of a fist in cheek remark id say.

    🤣

    See what I did there...
