I recorded the game and since Tuesday have watched the Sykes potential penalty incident several times. It looked to me that in addition to the defender making contact with his arm, he also slightly clipped Sykes leg causing him stumble.
Very strong claim for a penalty in my view. But we've had plenty of those turned down.
There is also a 5p per mile rate for business passengers. I help my son with his tax return, he's a chippy and has sometimes taken a labourer or apprentice with him to help on some jobs, and submitted such a claim.
He's often at Senior Reds, sharing his pearls of wisdom when questioning the guest speaker, whoever that might be, about City related matters.
He will probably be at next Thursday's luncheon as Steve and Maggie Lansdown are the guests.
I was there with my now dear departed Dad. It was an absolute crush trying to get out. At the end of the game we just got carried along with the crowd funnelling out. Neither of us were very big and at one point my Dad said his feet were off the ground as we slowly moved forward. I managed to glance down and he was right. It seemed funny at the time, but it could have been serious if anyone had fallen.
