The next question now arising is how much does the club have to offer new contracts? I know the Women's side finances are a vastly different kettle of fish to the men's (and that thread is running briskly in the post-Covid era!) but will there be enough funding for new players? A tough and important off-season is already here for whoever is in charge.

Is the Women's Championship fully professional?

  2. The ladies team has been on a downward trend since becoming Bristol City ladies. I’m not saying Bristol Academy wouldn’t have suffered the same fate but it’s difficult to see what benefits being part of the Bristol Sport family has brought.

Did the woman use to be quite good? About 6-8 years ago we were in Europe? What's happened.

Other clubs are spending increasing amounts on players and coaching. The WSL is effectively two divisions in one, with the “haves” at the top and the “have nots” at the bottom. City just don’t compete on player fees and wages and the gap is growing

I don’t think it is that straightforward on accounts. We will be receiving money for webster and brownhill for the next few years for example. 20m for webster doesn’t go straight onto accounts. It is usually split up for the length of his new contract or some of it. Correct me if I am wrong though @Mr Popodopolous or @Davefevs

Possibly, but I think this is the difference between income and cash positions. Effectively the transfer transaction is booked in one year even though the cash might be received over a period of years.

I think it’s more that it should have not broken up quite a much. Two years ago and he’d have been dead. Thank **** for the Halo

F1 car is shaped like a projectile. It would be very difficult to both absorb the energy and contain the vehicle. No one will complain about the halo ever again

I thought he was dead just from the fire never mind his car splitting in half, him going through the barrier and then having to get out in a fireball.  Questions over that type of barrier surely.

Standard safety barrier, the same as you get on the road network but with three rails. If that had been a concrete barrier or a water filled wall he would have died

No barrier is designed for a straight on collision
