Bell....gets into great positions..... just lacks final product...
-
Another opportunity comes to nothing....we look good on the break...but toothless in the final third.
-
WHY DONT WE SHOOT?
-
Make no mistake....Saints are yet to go through the gears....
We need to take one of the chances at least...

Tanner to score the winner with an assist by Vyner after MoL dribbles past 6 players. You heard it here first
At this point I'd actually consider the odds on this?

Probably because they saw our game against them and have learned from our mistakes?

I'd love to see us financially secure (ie profitable) with a good depth in the squad with decent players (meant for whichever level we are in) who care deeply for the shirt, would run through walls for success. Success in this context is stable performances and edging toward silverware of some description. In addition, a good range of ticket prices to ensure that all can afford to continue supporting.
Right, off to water the Unicorns and let the pigs out to fly.

Exactly my point.
Everyone is ploughing into Ipswich....and our form is dog toffee too. But Ipswich have won a league game in 2024....unlike us.

We did not start off like it, we took the game to them in the 1st 13 minutes, until Tanner took to long on the ball and got robbed, we survived and spend the next period penned back. It seemed to sap all our self belief or maybe raised Leeds. For my sins I watched the game back, we started well
On reflection you are correct. We did start well....defended strongly (with a little luck and some saves from MOL) in the first half.....took less than 5 mins in the second half to disintegrate entirely.
Should have been clearer.
Still very much about Mentality.

Based on last night's and other recent performances, many fans will rightly claim they've been sold out.
Ha....Would be funny if it didn't actually touch a nerve.

Leeds had 2 £30m players in their team. We have Sam Bell and Mehmeti. Not really a fair comparison.
Agree entirely, not a fair comparison. The issue is Mentality.....Leeds turned up with a Lion Mentality and we turned up with a Gazelle Mentality. Game was over before a ball was kicked.
The whole team were shocking to a man (minus MOL really).....coincidence that the transfer window closed midnight the day before?......realisation that there was no competition for places (outside of what exists already), no further career progression for those seeking it?.....if the season has been written off (as people on here are asserting) why would players be busting a gut to get a result?
Felt pretty low yesterday.....feel worse today.....this is supposed to be escapism from the stressors of life......just adding to a malaise of crap recently. Never felt so despondent.
Rant over.

I don’t disagree but can any manager overhaul a squad and achieve play offs next season? A big ask that
Good observation. Club will gloss over that mate.....we will buy...but not the quality we need. Don't think that we will be pushing for the play offs for the foreseeable. (Not negativity.......just realism).

Leeds played a high pressing front foot game last night, gave our players no time on the ball, counter attacked with ferocity and, in the main, also lacked quality in the final third. They should have been over the hill and far away by half time. They played the way we aspire to well...but also lacked quality in front of goal. (Take note SL!)
MoL had a good game and kept the scoreline respectable.
Leeds took one of the chances they had and we didn't. Worryingly, we have become so used to limited movement (possibly due to rigidity of formation) our players often receive the ball facing the wrong way and have to turn (last night into danger)...Leeds were playing incisive balls for players to run onto generating freedom of movement.....all we could do was chase shadows. We are too often static....in attack.....at throw ins......nobody is moving into space...this limits options, Kills flow and results in a difficulty moving between the thirds. There are times we get it right (and it flows extremely well) but then we lack either quality or ruthlessness to capitalise on the chance.
PPG is worrying. We haven't won a league game in 2024 yet and we saw last night how fragile the mental resilience is. Heads went down after Leeds scored...calmness went to hell in a hand cart.....rash challenges (we don't need suspended players exacerbating the selection issues)
Some may label this negativity. I call it realism. We are most likely safe this season but have to really step up for next otherwise we may find ourselves going the wrong way in the league ladder.
No taking away the thirst that Leeds showed for the win. They deserved it. Would have liked us to have at least represented ourselves well.
