Whole midfield was outstanding. Williams didn’t stop running and used the ball well, James does the basics unbelievably well and always in the right position and Knight was excellent carrying the ball forward and creating chances but also had the intelligence to keep the ball and stop them from putting sustained pressure on

I can’t agree with the highlighted personally: Scott and Conway made their first squad in Pearson’s first match, he deserves huge praise in developing them into the players they are now. Pring was injured when Pearson arrived and made his debut under him (may not have made a squad but not 100% sure) over the last two years he has massively improved under Pearson. O’Leary backup to Bentley but got given chances, 21/22 he wasn’t ready but last season he showed huge signs of improvement. Semenyo admittedly was making strides under Holden but what got him his prem move was his improvement with his end product undoubtedly

The only money he’s probably given him is the funding from Semenyo, where a lot of that was spent this summer

Think it’s a big overreaction regarding last night. We weren’t great going forward but it’s a cup game against another Championship team and those results are always a bit of a freak (bit like when we hammered a West Brom team who were in excellent form).

I don’t think he was bad as people made out, still tried to make things happen. What was poor (and this has happened since he joined) was his end product bar one good ball he takes too many touches and delays it a lot. If he works on that then we’ve got a great player on our hands

Naismith was our best player imo, thought Dickie did well but Tanner for me needs to be dropped. Poor on the ball and has started every game this season so is overdue a rest

Wells had the only shot on target and he showed what we should’ve done more of. Got the shot away at the right time and a great strike, keeper made a great save

I agree but if that’s the case then him playing 90 minutes shows we weren’t keen to win the game. He isn’t used to playing full 90’s so was understandably knackered, even the Oxford game he came off just after half time. Araoye and Knight-Lebel conceding 7 in 2 games in U21 hasn’t helped their case!

Thought the subs were so strange we almost didn’t really want to win the game. - Keeping Andy King on for 90 minutes who was absolutely blowing and very poor last night - Not moving Sykes out wide who is probably our best out and out winger at the moment - Subbing off Williams who was one of our better players Credit to Yeboah who was lively off the bench but felt like we never really wanted to get through to the next round otherwise we’d have gone for it a bit more

This is down to coverage of the two teams which is to be expected when the men’s are in the 7th tier of men’s football and women’s are in the 2nd. I’m sure someone can correct me but don’t think there’s any other team who have rankings like that.
