  1. Lad from Ireland I wouldn’t be against, I quite like Knight personally but we need competition and a different option which he could be perfect for. Saw Pritchard from Sunderland was available who does tick a lot of boxes for me
  2. His kicking isn’t the greatest but if you don’t think he commands the area well then you must be watching a different team. More than good enough as number 1 and is constantly improving imo
  3. I am baffled if you think O’Leary is a problem think he’s more than good enough as a number 1. Potentially need competition but unless Bajic/HWR go out on loan we can cope imo. Striker is a possibility but we need to create chances which for me is the biggest problem.
  4. 2 million? Spent more than that on players this season
  5. Overpaying on players when we got big transfer fees is exactly why we went into problem, I’d rather us spend it wisely on players that will improve our team. We were poor today and performances need to be better but losing your mind after the first loss of the season isn't healthy. Keep the faith and hopefully we will get back to it on Friday
  6. Great to see he’s doing well, had some bad experiences in senior football last season so glad he’s been able to find his feet so quickly
  7. Just posted on twitter, looks like it’s true
  8. It’s also not like we’re the only team with injuries, I’ve just read Leeds have 11 first team players out
  9. I hope he’s chatting rubbish, which would be unlike when he said about Towler, McCrorie, Roberts and Knight ?
  10. There’s this which I have no idea why his input is cared about…
  11. Don’t think they will but similarly have spent a lot and when you compare it to Southend it probably should’ve been 4-0 the other way!
  12. Couldn’t believe it when I saw the two score lines at half time
  13. That was the worst James has played for a while, potentially ever at the club. Hopefully it’s a one off though as he normally keeps the ball a lot better than that
  14. QPR and Rotherham apparently were woeful yesterday!
  15. Few shocks yesterday on the opening day as there always will be but this is undoubtedly the biggest shock of the day Had an awful summer with ownership issues and were days away from not being a club. Down to their bare bones yesterday only fielding 4 subs as a result. But they came up against one of the title favourites Oldham and won 4-0.
  16. We had a better second half of the season which was without Semenyo? Very easy to forget he was a mile off it first half of the season until a few games before he left. Obviously we lose something with him but funny how no one has mentioned his “loss” till now
  17. Mehmeti more of a Semenyo replacement no? Think we’re yet to see the best of him but I do think the competition has stepped Bell up a bit
  18. I’ll be honest this comment has shocked me, thought off the ball is one of the rare things we looked good at. Knight and Williams in particular looked quick to win the ball back, Wells dropping deep to do this aswell. For me it’s what we did on the ball that wasn’t good enough
  19. McCrorie bought in as a right back, seems like with the way we’re looking at getting Kalas back we think we’re a centre back short so I think Naismith would be used in midfield
  20. In what way? I’d say they all have very different playing styles, if that’s the point you’re getting at?
  21. Against those sort of teams we do need someone like him yes. More to the point Kal Naismith is missed more than Scott today imo, someone who can break lines with passes at centre back or in midfield. Hopefully with him back in training he’s back soon, and hopefully it’s in midfield
  22. It was a definite handball but think the ref was in an awful position. We also didn’t help ourselves with stopping assuming it has been given “playing to the whistle” is something you are taught as a child
  23. Neither were pens for me, Vyner goes in for a block and he couldn’t do anything with his hands (obviously Preston may feel hard done by) and Wells went to ground to easily for me
  24. Positives: Thought we looked good off the ball, defensively dealt with their pressure well making Max’s life a lot easier, Vyner and Dickie looked good for me. Negatives: Preston created a lot more than us and against better forwards we would’ve been punished more, could not get full backs into the game, sat way too deep after getting the goal after starting the half so positively and we completely stopped for the goal. Overall pretty poor performance to start the season but we can and I’m sure will be better than that. Did think there was a clear handball in the lead up to the goal (reason why we stopped possibly) but Preston more than deserved a point. No point overreacting though as it is the first game of the season, neither Sheffield United or Luton won their first game last season so still plenty of chances!
