  1. Could argue that he was partially at fault for the Bowen goal but he also made two excellent saves from Bowen and Ward-Prowse to keep us into the game allowing us to grab the leveller. Great reaction from Max and the team today after that early set back
  2. I agree but I always think the main difference between him and a couple of others is a couple of sparks and we got what we paid for back. Pretty sure we terminated Palmer’s contract early if I’m not mistaken?
  3. In fairness, when you look at it 21/22 was a very poor season for him (even though he rarely started) his other two full seasons at the club he hit double figures for league goals. Not entirely sure he’s worth the high fee we paid but he has contributed Could argue Tomlin but we got our fee back and he did contribute a fair few goals and assists atleast. That whole summer window and even the January window was a shambles with how it was ran
  4. There was an U21 game scheduled for today called off. Presumably mid week against Bournemouth McCrorie, Roberts and maybe Murphy get some minutes, sounds like it will likely be Yeboah in the squad tomorrow
  5. Lansdown provides the funds but doesn’t choose how we spend it, Mark Ashton and Lee Johnson are at fault. Kasey Palmer coming in is the most pointless waste of money I can possibly remember and that takes some doing
  6. Didn’t they have Wrexham at home last year and lost? Don’t think Coventry take cups too seriously so every chance the game is on!
  7. He was back then got another set back, Manning said he would be out for a lot longer.
  8. Considering we were prepared to spend 2.5 mill on Azaz suggests to me that we’re in the market for players to improve us now This has been in the pipeline since the summer, he decided to stick it out at his club so as a result we got him cheaper. We’ve had future signings not go to plan but we’ve also had some that have gone to plan, I personally don’t see too many downsides to this signing
  9. Guess so in regards to false expectations from above but in regards to points returns there is a huge drop off from Eustace to Rooney!
  10. This for me was handled incredibly poorly. 1. Sacking a manager for “no fear football” only to drop from the playoffs to a relegation battle is incredibly clueless 2. A board member saying that you’re going to recruit in order to suit that style and therefore back Rooney and then sack him shortly after is utterly bizarre. I agree with sacking him but the way it was handled was awful, interested to see who they get in next
  11. Obviously completely agree with your last two sentences and maybe my comment was a bit reactionary so apologies to @Scrumpys Dietary Advisor.. . I do stand by opinion though that the style many teams have adapted hasn’t ruined football, I also think it will work and we have seen it in games under Manning. I didn’t even think in the first half we were too bad but second half is up there with one of the worst half’s I’ve seen from us at this level
  12. I normally am impressed with how well Wells deals with aggressive centre halves. Considering his height he has a high jump and holds it up fairly well, maybe something that comes with more experience in fairness. Problem is think we need to sell before we can buy a striker, Cornick isn’t suited to how Manning wants to play imo but with him just signing a new deal last January not sure what offer we’d get
  13. Really bugged me how Hutchinson finished the game without getting carded, good player don’t get me wrong but with the amount of fouls he made I’d like to see how good he was on a yellow
  14. Sunderland for the first half I’d say it was even, but just before the goal we had a very good spell and it was coming. Second half backs to the wall as you said. Hull I personally thought we played well most of the game, was just a period before half time where we switched off.
  15. We have, hence why we won 3 wins on the bounce which Pearson has never done.
  16. I criticised the poster because he went on absolute ramble around Guardiola had ruined football and was a fraud which of course is absolute rubbish. I said the performance wasn’t great, that’s not defending the performance. Anyone who went today would know that it was probably the worst performance of the Manning era
  17. Agree we were awful, but also important not to dwell on it too much
  18. Sorry what? Where did I defend the performance? Are you looking at the right comment?
  19. Agree with this, thought we looked a lot worse on the ball when James came off. Weimann doesn’t suit wide right but thought he played pretty well on the whole, would’ve brought off Mehmeti before him
  20. Easily the most entertaining thing that happened that game
  21. No one coaches teams to play slow paced football though it just happens to be how those games pan out. I thought we moved the ball fairly quickly first half but in the second you could argue Millwall stopped us from playing. You can also argue a lot of these players have limitations when playing this style. What point are you even trying to make here?
  22. Something I’ve heard a lot recently and certainly describes the last week at this club! Today was a very poor performance, personally felt we missed that player who can provide that individual brilliance to get us out of jail. However overall, the Christmas period has been positive results wise and we now sit 4 points off the playoffs in the top half which I'd have certainly taken after the Blackburn game. We’re now in a transfer window and the schedule isn’t as hectic as last month so looking forward to see what the month brings starting with an exciting cup tie. COYR!
  23. Not great but what I’ve just read is up there with one of the weirdest posts I’ve seen on this forum
