Wow, that's a good age. Glad you appreciate who is in charge of the household !!

Hi Tone, only just picked up on this story, so sad mate. We lost our german shepherd way back in 2008  (I mentioned the war once but got away with it). Seriously though mate I said no more dogs because of the heartache when they leave us but I get peace & happiness knowing she had a great life with us, I feel sure you will get the same feelings eventually mate.

Chin up mate & thanks for being a good owner/dog lover.

    Cheers from Oz ?

Simple Cardiff are desperate to sign ex city players. He follows a long line of them in resent years !
We can only hope that is as bad and injury prone across the Severn as he was whilst wearing a Bristol city shirt.

I don't wish injury on any player :disapointed2se:

Thanks, it's been a common theme in recent times. Getting away from the world with the dog helps a lot. A lot of people think talking helps, but it often doesn't and meds definitely do nothing. Time, space, relaxation and forgetting the world and getting your own head straight is normally the only thing that does and you can never do that staring at the same 4 walls all the time.

So true, I think that's why I enjoy my time alone fishing, I get out in the boat where no-one can bother me & just think about the good things. I quite often come home without fish but who cares, the therapeutic gains far out way the lack of fish.

Good luck with your relaxation mate

Everything that is said about the recruitment policy, overpaid players, huge debts etc, is all down to Ashton. LJ had zero say in the finances of any deals and also had minimal say in who was actually coming in. I know this, from the horses mouth.
    Looking at his recruitment at Sunderland, (where he did have much more control), we can see that yesterdays playoff winning team consisted of 9 players of the 14 used which Lee brought in himself ;

Baath, Cirkin, Evans, Roberts, Pritchard, Stewart, Clarke, Doyle & Broadhead, as well as Patterson & Embleton who had not been used by the previous manager.
Only Gooch, O’Nien and Bailey Wright weren’t brought into that squad by LJ.
Add in Matete and Winchester who’ve played important roles through the season too.

I think his Sunderland recruitment gives you a much better idea of who was in charge of things whilst he was at AG.
Also look at his recruitment at Oldham & Barnsley. The outlier is Bristol City. And there’s a specific reason why.

I’ve said before and I’ll continue to say it, LJ was not responsible for recruitment here, Ashton is at fault for our current plight. But anyway, that’s been done to death on here.

I'm not doubting you for one minute Harry but why on earth do you think LJ didn't draw it to the notice of SL & son. He was/is afterall a family friend that should have made it clear what was going on, or did he & it was ignored?.

I always thought we were perhaps one club too soon for LJ to shine.

They wouldn’t have gone to the depth of research in terms of what I have and haven’t done, That was important because the club was able to tell me my successes without me having to deliver that to them.”

From an interview in the Times

That wouldn't have taken long !!

I remember the proper cup finals years ago.

3pm kick off, both BBC and ITV programmes started at 9am and went on until 6pm.

Back then the FA cup was something very special.

I’ve had no desire to watch a cup final for well over ten years now, and I’m not going to start today.

I feel the same way & have no interests in either of the teams at all, so I reckon my time was best spent fishing instead ?.

We were walking down a very steep slope and some stones gave way. The sudden jolt aggravated an ACL rupture I had 20 years ago.

    That's my pre-season knackered. ;):D

Wishing you a speedy recovery RR
