Can only echo the thoughts of those above. If you have witnessed this vile disease it really is heartbreaking.

All thoughts and strengths to Marcus and his family

I was just thinking the same, it's a few years ago now that a young footballer at our local aussie rules club was diagnosed, he passed away before reaching the age of 20yrs. It was so difficult to witness what his family & friends went through at the time.

Our thoughts are with him & his family.

This is also a fair argument and that would be terrible...otoh when this was stated, unsure that talk of the playoffs was on the cards.

Let's remember just what NP had taken on...turning the huge cost base around wages wise with some amortisation reduction too, while showing great self-sacrifice and restraint in the market, trying to keep us within FFP while plenty of talented yet raw youth get their head. Plus being cognisant of the need to avoid rushing players back despite a thin squad and some pressure on results.

Oh and the need to either move on or turn around the mindset of a host of players. Some have been moved on, or run their course. Whereas e.g. DaSilva and Wells have fought and played their way back in. Decent mention for Vyner as well.

What an unenviable task. He may not be able to inherit the house fully furnished and with correctly appreciated value but the foundations for this should be well and truly laid.

"Decent mention for Vyner", that's been a very satisfying outcome imo. Full marks to all concerned in turning that around.

A few seasons back Kamera of Fulham was sent off for an assault on Bailey Wright. He was given a 3 match ban for violent conduct. Fulham appealed and Kamera red card was overturned! To make things worse Bailey Wright was then given a 3 match ban for simulation!

One extreme to the other .

No unfortunately because the Ref saw it and dealt with  it on the day. The FA never go against a ref's decision

If it had been violent conduct and it didn't appear in the Ref's post match report then a retrospective punishment could be applied.

Genuine question MR, I thought a red card offence could be withdrawn after the event.

If I'd read on, more posts have explained my query

Im s**tting it not going to lie.

If we get 15, how much becomes available?

Need at least 5 of that to buy a decent striker, i fear that lansdown will just put that in his back pocket.

He's taken a lot more than that out of his back pocket on many occasions. I think he would come to the party to boost the squad if AS was to be sold this window, but that's only my opinion .

What did we do with baker and weimann?

obviously no matter what you say about lansdown, him acting without class is not something that can be levelled against him, which is where barcelona, as one of the worlds most prestigious sporting organisations is sadly lacking.

I agree with the highlighted quote but the rest..................................No, No, No.

    Really !!!

What a mess we are in.

An owner saying he wants out having failed in his declared objective for over a quarter of a century

    Many fans wanting manager out

Too small a squad at this level

Best players may yet leave, even worst players leaving could leave unfillable gaps in squad

Possible points deduction still on the horizon.

Supporting City has, over my 8 decades as a fan, never been easy but the present cup of woe does seem very worrying indeed.

Ever feel like you are repeating yourself ?

Perhaps the eight decades is catching up but don't worry mate as I'm very close behind you. It's been entertaining at times & frustrating for the most.

    Hang in there Ivorguy

  10. I hope Sammy goes well, I think it was unfortunate timing that he got caught up in a ridiculous period of our trading & hopefully we/players don't have to go through it again & I reckon that NP & RG have a handle on it now at last........thankfully.

Bristol Rovers can confirm that defender Nick Anderton has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

As a result of this, Nick will undergo an operation in the coming weeks to remove this part of the bone.

Nick has issued the following statement:

"Unfortunately, this rare form of cancer which is affecting my femur means that I’ll be undergoing an operation in the coming weeks.

"This diagnosis has come as a huge shock to both myself and my family; however, we are remaining positive and hopeful.

"I want to thank everyone at Bristol Rovers, especially Club Doctor Ian Ferguson and Head of Medical Stuart Leake, the specialists at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and my family for their continued support.

I want to wish the boys all the best for the upcoming season, starting this Saturday back at The Mem. Hopefully I can be swinging off another traffic light on Gloucester Road come May! ?

    Nick ?"

Sad news, good luck for a speedy recovery fella.
