I have unfortunately but can't understand why a club like Boro who themselves have had no PP are in so much of a better position than us.

You've answered your own question.............. better financial management than us.........at the time.

Did you actually see the stats I'm sorry but they did look superior to us for long periods which annoyed the hell out of me, and why are they better placed financially?

You obviously haven't heard about our financial issues due to the incompetence of MA & LJ then ????

Our coach driver for away games had one ear, plus a false one.  It was really noticeable because he had a big pirate loop earring on it that drew it to your attention.

Every game though, in the opposition bar, someone would make sure he had a drink and then ask him, “hey Rick, do you want a drink?”, he’d reply “no, I’ve got one ‘ere”, to which he’d get the reply “we know you’ve got one ear, but do you want a drink” and lots of chuckles from all of us.

    ?

I had have a friend like that. Probably drank nearly as much as Gazza. I could tell you a thousand stories about this guy. Drowned when pissed up in Spain in 2007.

My mate who was a huge drinker was told he had 6 months left to live if he continued to drink as he was, to my astonishment he stopped drinking & underwent a liver transplant. That was 5 years ago & he now won't even try a zero alcohol beer in case he gets the flavour again plus he says he owes it the family of the person who donated the liver.

The fact he had the willpower to stop & organ donations is what saved him. I'm proud to call him a mate & so glad he's around as an example to others.

It can be done but you have to want to

Back in the 50s, my dad used to stand (on Crackers' Corner) behind an old bloke who had a glass eye.  One game this fella got particularly wound up and he popped out his eye and rolled it on the pitch: "Yur ref. Thee can use 'ee!"

I had a mate that used to put his glass eye in his beer on the bar when he went the gents, to ensure no-one drank it ??

I think the problem is that people who swear constantly in day-to-day life don’t realise that not everyone does the same. They go to football, swear not stop at the top of their voice and then get stroppy when people with children complain. They are happy to swear in front of their own children so assume it’s ok to do the same with other children.

I have a very very good mate that would give his last dollar to someone to help them, he goes out of his way to help people, sometimes to his detriment but his language is atrocious, it's not aimed at individuals but just in general chat. He just can't help himself, we all tell him to cool it but it hasn't improved at all & I don't think it ever will.

There is however imo a huge difference between being verbaly obnoxious towards some-one & some-one like my mate, though both can be offensive.

We obviously have some fans who think we can make the playoffs this season, as well as some who think it is a step too far.

What took me a little by surprise last night was Nigel saying on the radio that tomorrow (today) we have to get back to the

task of trying to get in to the playoffs, which is reassuring that his frame of mind is that it is a possibility.

I think we can all look forward to a tremendous last 13 games and we are obviously going to give it all we have got.

    Strap yourselves in.

Thanks for the update. Didn’t know it but you and live only about 50 yards away from each other @Port Said Red

I've only just realised that I'm only 16,732 kms from you both, what a small world ?.

Seriously it feels a lot closer when on OTIB which is my most visited site , all the very best & a speedy & complete recovery to Rob.

    Cheers from Oz
