Okay, beaten in the end by a side who were better than us, but fair play, we gave it a real go. Along with most others, I’ve been really disappointed after the last three games but tonight felt different.

Finally, well done to our fans who made the journey, horrible place to get to and it takes flipping ages.

We never go to these types of places and win and I’m sick of it. Unbelievable that people are happy when we ‘have a go’ - that’s the minimum we should expect

  2. Interview with Semenyo with Sky today

“A handful more appearances for Bristol City followed before another loan spell, this time at Sunderland in League One until he finally broke into the first team. Then Nigel Pearson arrived. Semenyo smiles at that name.

"I had a bit of a cagey start with him. I wasn't really playing much and as a player you're like, 'Why am I not playing?'. He just said your best ability is running and shooting so all you need to do is run and shoot!”

It does seem that you only hear positive stories about his management from the players

  3. I think it’s fair enough he continued to play and if it’s his first offence and he learns his lesson should be allowed to continue upon release.

however, multiple offenders shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near pro sport in my opinion. Two examples would be Joey Barton and Jon Jones (UFC). It’s a disgrace we allow scum like that to compete, earn vast amounts of cash and be ‘role models in the public eye’

  4. Surely we could go unique and local with massive attacks unfinished symphony. If they cranked this up and faded it out right on kick off the lyrics would really suit and would sound awesome IMO with everyone signing it.

I know that I've imagined love before
And how it could be with you
Really hurt me, baby, really cut me, baby
How can you have a day without a night?
You're the book that I have opened
And now I've got to know much more

  5. Mate, they were on sale all afternoon on the OS. Keep your eye on it. I got 2 adults in the lower tier. I checked afterwards and there was still availability  for a couple of hours. Open Away tickets in your browser and keep refreshing it throughout the day. Good luck

I personally think you buy a ticket for a certain stand and should be able to sit anywhere within that stand ie same as cinema, first come first served and this should be anywhere in country those that turn up late just fit in wherever available

    That would be chaos.

Imagine turning up with a small child and not getting two seats together. That’s just one scenario. Ridiculous

  7. I think the criticism of Lampard is harsh, let’s remember who we are - we ain’t getting a manager who’s the complete package - they wouldn’t come here, same as players.

Lampard did well at Derby, they certainly didn’t want him to leave. A lot of posters have mentioned he only did well because he had Mount on loan. How’s he getting on at Utd by the way? Maybe Lampards man management gets the best out of players?

Not every manager has success everywhere, not every player does either - this happens at worlds class level too.

He did well at Chelsea too, they were under a transfer embargo and a lot of his team weren’t what I’d call Chelsea quality (Abraham, Chalobah etc) - he secured a champions league finish.

According to the coaches voice he fits the required bill regarding style of play:

Both at Derby and Chelsea Lampards full-backs overlapped, a double pivot provided cover at the base of midfield, and their attacking players largely stayed central. Each of the above elements have been prominent throughout Lampard’s coaching career

Lampard likes his full-backs to overlap, his wide forwards to come inside and a double pivot to act as protection his defence. Even when he experimented with a back three at Chelsea – with mixed success – these were consistent themes.

Lampard liked his possession-based football to be accompanied by an intense press. In the Premier League in 2019/20 – Lampard’s only full season as Chelsea manager – only Liverpool and Manchester City made more regains in the attacking half than Chelsea. In Lampard’s final season at Derby – 2018/19 – his team ranked sixth in the Championship's for regains in the attacking half.
