Managed Conway and Bell in the U23's for a bit during his time here.  It wouldn't surprise me, and maybe a little bit more forward thinking than the likes of Rowett, Nathan Jones et al.

Surely Rowett can’t be considered now the club are on record saying they want to play on the front foot

Sorry it isn’t his club , it is yours , mine and thousands of others. He is simply a custodian of the club , same as Dolman, Davidson and many others. Yes he pumps millions into the club but I’m sure there are many fans who on an annual basis who pay a higher percentage of their wealth into city than SL does , just his amount is greater in £ doesn’t mean it’s greater in % terms

This. It’s all relative. I’d put millions in if I had it

  3. What Mr Lansdown would do well to remember is that we spend our hard earned money on the club. It’s not his it’s ours. Yes he bankrolls it but I would in a heartbeat if I was a billionaire. It’s all relative. I spent literally every penny I had on city between the ages of 13-18.

Is it still the general feeling that NP is good for us? I can't understand it.

For me, tonight shows we are a mid table side at best. 2nd best. Ipswich were promoted last season FFS!

We've made such little progress during his tenure. We need a change that can actually produce an result in the league table.

    🤦‍♂️

  5. We’re just an alright team. You look at the fixture Leeds Away and instinctively know we won’t get anything from it because we are City and that’s just what we do. It’s the same when we are two or three nil up, most fans at most clubs can probably enjoy it - city fans however know just how often we throw that away. We are steadily improving under Pearson and I like the team we have, Hopefully we keep evolving and one day we will challenge at the top of the championship again

  6. Didn’t get much joy in the current affairs chat. I’m bringing a few mates to WBA on Sat. They’ve decided they want to visit Ashton Gate to see what I waste my time and money on every week aswell as have a look around Bristol to see if it’s as good as I say it is!

We are all aged mid 30’s up to a very young 50 year old. It’s been a while since I went out out so the question is…Where can we go Saturday night for a few drinks? I was thinking King street but I’m expecting a moderately chilly night or maybe even rain which makes sitting outside less appealing. Ideally don’t want anything too heavy on the music front but most importantly a good and friendly atmosphere

We are bristol city, we come from Ashton Gate, the Cardiff and the rovers, we really f##ing hate, we love to drink the cider, we love to sing and fight, and when we get promotion, we'll sing this song all night.... allez allez allez etc

Here you go, it's a good job Robbored is on an extended holiday ?

That’s actually a banger. For that reason it probably will never take off. Hats off to you though!

  8. Because we sing songs like “8 men had a dream” which are so flat the away fans would have no idea what any of the words are. We have no ingenuity when it comes to decent chants. A city version of Allez Allez Allez would be good but we recycle the same old tunes season after season and just change the players names. A number of clubs ply HI Ho silver lining right before kick off and that gets belted out. West Brom play the liquidator with some choice lyrics, again very good but we don’t do anything to lift the crowd I’m afraid.

Attacking football would help lift the all round mood of the the stadium but we can’t do much about that.

Discussed this on another thread with @Davefevs, believe the club will not be extending Pearson’s contract and decision made to offer any funds the new manager. Let’s hope it doesn’t backfire

Why back him at all if that’s the case. When we improve our final position on last year I fully expect another contract to be offered

Very good buy as is Roberts. I expect them both to start v Preston. Think the latter may just get the nod over Pring as his crosses have been more productive.

Dickie for me though is our best signing. Reminds me so much of Webster. Cool under pressure, solid and great distribution.

Finally! Take a bow sir. Most people like to talk in riddles about Roberts claiming he’s ‘technically good’ whatever that means! Nice to see someone just say he looks good
