Never been so proud to be a city fan -
Three transfer windows. That’s the default for assessing a new managers squad. Today, for the first time I’m not worried about incomings. The next three windows could be the most important we’ve had in a recent memory but for different reasons. With alleged multiple bids coming in for Semenyo today I found myself getting worked up. For the first time in a long time I’ve started to enjoy this football club again. It feels like we are starting to repair the damage following the devastation left behind from hurricane Ashton. The football has improved, Ashton gate has its buzz back and I’m proud to see so many academy players in the squad. For years we have heard how the club is premier league ready, well, now there’s a manager I actually believe in and maybe we might be in a position to challenge sooner rather than later. There is a rather large elephant in the room though….FFP. Losses of 38.4 million does not make for pretty reading. We have saleable assets. I’d be happy to lose Palmer and Wells and I don’t really care where they go. As far as replacements go we had the answers at the club all along. Inevitably we now face a battle to keep hold of those answers. Surely every club in the championship (excluding those with parachute payments) are in the same boat so this is our chance settle the squad and get ready for next years playoff charge. The EFL won’t punish every team with points deductions, they simply can’t - Allowances must be made for the league to survive. City have operated admirably and led the way with regard to finances, it’s the pandemic that brought the debt and that is something that could not be foreseen. Whilst all those around us start to recover, we MUST take our chance. I’m not suggesting spending money we don’t have but let’s keep what we’ve got. Put simply Semenyo, Scott and Massengo need to be at City this time next year. They will outgrow us and they will retain value but we can’t keep selling talent after one season - particularly when it all comes along at once and that’s what has given us a chance when it seemed like we were so far away. Next season could be the most exciting yet……

Unfortunately it’s the same one that I’ve heard our fans sing a number of times about Joey Barton -

Who’s that? -
8 red cards so far this season. Playing the Barton way.

All football clubs have ‘spotters’ and travel to all the away games to work with the local police. Avon and Somerset will have some officers at every away game.
-
We also had a racist incident last month so not the best ageing thread from the OP

A last minute change in circumstances means I can now travel. Please let me know if you end up with 2 spare and I’ll gladly reimburse you!

And I said Hey Rob Atkinson ...what's going on
Eddie Notgetinya replied to The Humble Realist's topic in Football Chat
He may well have scarring on his lungs from the Covid - hopefully we’ll see him return to form very soon. Whilst I don’t understand why people choose not to take the vaccine I don’t really have much of an issue with it, it’s far more important the squad is sensible in terms of mask wearing and sanitising etc. The real issue in society is those that don’t believe Covid exists. -
On the subject of confusion…I’m pretty sure his name isn’t Brendan

So which is it then? Tripe or open and honest? Sounds like he can’t win with you so why bother listening

On Kasey Palmers role: he’s a player that’s currently training with us His days are numbered although we knew this already!

Chelsea and Leeds have a rivalry, he also did it at West Ham last week, another rivalry. Neal Maupay did it against Palace and Southampton, again, teams with rivalry. Jamie Vardy is the master of it but does it against quite a few teams and it’s quite funny! He did the eagle at Palace and the Howl against Wolves. It’s part of the game and I enjoy it although I thought it was a little embarrassing when Sane did it at Ashton Gate

Looks like Ashton has dropped Norwood for tonight’s game -
Negative. They bounce around in front of each other shouting “come on” but can never quite breakthrough the invisible force field that seems to appear between them. He would have been fine

Nige probably won’t rest him and I would wager his credentials in understanding football are somewhat better than yours. "I thought Chris Martin was excellent, I don’t think he lost a header" - NP

Nobody can win a game with that centre midfield

Appeared to be conscious quite quickly
