  1. Negative comments regarding his injury record have already started in the match thread, something I have been critical of in the past, However, I won’t criticise him for getting injured when he flies into tackles full blooded for the cause like today. If all our players were as committed as Bakes we’d be much better off. It looked like a head injury and having watched the sky documentary on concussion last week I hope he doesn’t suffer any lasting effects. Get well soon big man.
  2. Brentford will wear this seasons kit next season aswell in an effort to make football more affordable for fans and to focus the game on sustainability. Brilliant in my opinion
  3. Absolutely chaotic 3 minutes. Awful tackle from O’Dowda who sees yellow. Scott pulls his man back in the area and gets away with it, Stoke hit the post and then Williams plays them in and Bentley makes a good save. FFS boys
  4. Play well and keep your place seems to be the message so I’d expect to see Simpson come in and O’Dowda keep his spot
  5. I have to say I still believe our starting XI really could be quite good - problem is getting them all out there at the same time. James and Williams are key. RB/RWB is the obvious problem that needs addressing for the next few weeks. Now don’t laugh….. Bentley Atkinson Kalas Baker Wiemann Pring Massengo Williams O’Dowda Martin Wells
  6. Get well soon Nige, looking forward to seeing you back in the dug out.
  7. Yes it’s frustrating but I actually live a very happy fulfilled life, but, for me, football enriches it. I miss it in the summer and I love Saturday afternoons. The noise, the smell of the burger vans, the crowd. I wouldn’t be without it weather I’m at Ashton Gate or sat in my lounge with Jeff Stelling. I don’t go every week but I’m so glad to at least have the option after the pandemic
  8. I wish I knew the answer. I get as frustrated as everyone. I travel most weeks from Norwich. I could go to Carrow Road every week and it would take much less time out of my weekend, but I just can’t do it. I could go to Ipswich - same. I could go to Kings Lynn town but it’s not my team. I still love going and the good times will come again. Plus I want to share the bond of having something special with my son when he’s old enough to go and I want him to be City with me not Liverpool or Norwich or Chelsea. However, in answer to your question, I don’t know why I care!!!!
  9. I’m going to keep the faith a little longer. We must remember that we have been slightly hamstrung in financial terms by Covid. Now, I know this applies to the other 23 clubs in the Championship, but, we needed a squad overhaul. I firmly believe if we can get Williams fit then we will be far more competitive with him and James next to one another.
  10. Wouldn’t surprise me. We are Bristol Sport now hence no club crest on the outside of the boring looking white Lansdown stand
  11. **** giving him a shout out for one half decent game
  12. Fair, I’ve been half cut at every game I’ve been to this year and it’s still been awful
  13. He was not poor against Barnsley. Everyone was awful against WBA
  14. I’m not quite sure why you’re implying my grasp of the English language is poor - it’s not. Speaking in a condescending manner is not a desirable trait in anybody. Social injustice, if you truly understand the term, is in my opinion, the reason for the reshuffle by Sky. Opinion is what this forum is based on, how we interact with each other is a choice. With all that being said though, you can take your opinion and, in the words of Nige, “shove that where the sun don’t shine”
  15. Always going to happen after they ruined the show with wokeness and destroyed the chemistry everyone tuned in for
  16. Unfortunately Alanis Morissette doesn’t have a good grasp of the English language either. She wrote a song titled Ironic and then sung about rain on your wedding day. This is not irony it is simply bad luck.
  17. Pring is likely out because of the forced formation change (King and Williams injuries).
  18. No he didn’t but that was my interpretation of how Forest were having success in previous games!
  19. I saw what happened pre Preston. Absolutely laughable. Two groups of around 30 came across each other on Ashton Road. There was lots of dancing but absolutely NO contact. Both groups stayed behind their respective side of the Ashton park wall of safety. I didn’t realise that we had installed invisible force fields with the redevelopment! Then some bottles were thrown whilst people jumped onto the wall and back off it again. Then 3 coppers ran in and drew batons and the two groups ran away despite outnumbering the police 10-1 each. Our lot congratulated each other on the way into the stadium on how it had “properly gone off”. Embarrassing.
