  1. You lot are easily upset ? West Ham away Tues night lost 5-0 spent the whole game dodging bags of piss and waves of darts. 1 coach went - followed back to it by 500 skinheads. Even the coppers told us to leg it, as they would be. Having to share the bogs and tea stand with West Ham outside the away area during the game was an extra-special treat. Utterly terrified throughout. Wrexham away Tuesday night lost 1-0 and stood in a deluge for 90 mins in sub-zero temps. Coppers wouldn't let us sit in the stands. A certain author and 'The Knife' stole the match ball and ensured North Wales finest held the coach back and slapped everyone silly until it was 'found'. Home at 5am still wet, fed up and due at work at 8. Those were shit away games! Honourable mention to Grimsby away for being dropped off in an abandoned fairground miles from the ground at 10am for a 3pm kick off and trying to dodge the local thugs to find a pub to hole up in until we could get an escort to the ground, as basically no-one knew where it was. Grimsby also smells extremely bad ?
  2. Anyone give me the cliff notes? 12 pts this year and 9 next? @Mr Popodopolous Is your avatar Precious McKenzie?
  3. No, but it is worth noting in some countries it is actually regarded as a genuine disability. It certainly precludes you from becoming an electrician, plumber, pilot, Police Officer, Armed forces, train / bus driver amongst many many professions. Indeed anything that relies on any form of colour coding. Some games are unwatchable for the colour blind.
  4. It's Apples v Oranges Bristol is now very affluent, and the fanbase reflects that. Go back to when AG was a fortress that away fans were terrified to come to unless very mobbed up. The difference - mass unemployment, Miners strikes, Thatcher years, Falklands - plus youth had identity then - not like purely 'chavs' now - skinheads, Punks, Mods,Scooter Boys New Romantics, Goths etc The streets were a cauldron of combat - skins v mods, punks v scooter boys. Us oldies remember Broadmead - Reggie Boys and Punks at Virgin Records, running fights between punks, skins and mods. The huge mod / punk fight on Gloucester Rd (about a 3rd of future CSF lads were at that one) - Cardiff in town every Saturday night., Bristol was an angry aggressive City - the riots showed that - so Football was a release for that rage. England in the 80's was a divided, angry country, socially, politically, racially - and football wise. It can never be the same again, as Bristol has moved on to become a staunchly left / green affluent city. The rage has gone. Certainly though - bung the away fans up in the gods, and let the singers / chanters gravitate to the middle of the SS - hopefully the rail seats will help. But yeah - 'designated singing section' says it all. Dont forget your square to wave your flag in. The future is here, and the future is chardonnay with prawn sandwiches. At least for Bristol Sport.
  5. @Davefevs @Mr Popodopolous If there was ever a time to implement a salary cap - then that time is now. Have a look at Australian Rules Footy - the salary cap works really well. Its combined with a draft rather than academies, but clubs use it well. Clubs have a player limit. An example would be Gold Coast Suns, who are really right at their limit - so they gave away their draft pick #19 - as long as the club that took it (#19 usually gets you a good young 18yr old to your club) took a player and paid their wages. So Fremantle Dockers took pick #19 plus GCS player Will Brodie - it was a win / win GCS got Brodies $500,000 a year salary off the books, and Fremantle got a decent player in Brodie AND used pick #19 to then land a really talented youngster from Geelong Cats. It would take some doing - but with say, a club only being allowed 25 players on their 'senior' list , and 10 on a 'rookie' list (who can go to 'senior' if a player is long-term injured) - a national draft from an 'academy pool' (with teams having 1st option on their own academy player) - and a salary cap, then things would be so much more stable in English Football. I know it would be a long term project - but hopefully someone will start the ball rolling soon. Perhaps the EFL could fund a study. It's really the only way to ensure a level playing field - and prevent another 'Bury' disaster. 2p
  6. I'm no fan of Barton - but he is clearly unwell. He is obviously affected by either medication (prescribed) or self administered. He is a sociopath - who now admits to a 'divine purpose' to 'save' Rovers Look at the video - unable to keep eye contact, looking left, up ,around, as if he is actually seeing and responding to something. In places he was unable to remember what he was saying or complete the sentence. He is severely mentally unwell - I would hope Rovers club Dr has seen this and is making arrangements for him to be assessed by a mental health professional. The man genuinely needs help.
  7. You are the poster 'Fanatical' from Gaschat, and I claim my £5!
  8. Gaschat moderator and Wally sycophant Gashead81 Ongoing feud between SC and Wally - this gashead81 seems to be a talking head on a stick for Wally
  9. Jeez - Slagchat gets worse and worse - now claims that Ken Masters threw in a dodgy kiddy abuse complaint against Wael.... I was given information by someone unconnected to the board and the SC that the SC had made a safeguarding complaint to the FA. I will not give the details, they aren’t for me to say and the club cannot comment on the specifics either I would think. At first I couldn’t believe it to be true. So I asked the question to a few people directly, to be told it was true. I was stunned, Wael Al’Qadi might be many things, but I never in a million years had him down to be a I love you. I’ve taken my own child into the box next to his over the course of 18 months and happily watched him engage with Harry and as he is also a father himself you can tell by the way he is with kids, he is in no way a threat. So why would someone go to these lengths? I spoke to one of the people involved at the centre of the complaint, Paul Adulous, known as Wilf, a member of the SC and chairman of the WSM branch of the SC by phone who gave me the real inside track on what went on, why and how far it had all gone and how he was pretty disappointed by the way things had gone. I then received an anonymous letter sent to my business following various postings I made on gaschat where I believed this was an attempt at trying to lynch Wael and the this was nothing more than a dirty tactic which had no foundation. In that letter was an unsigned note that had been computer printed saying that it wasn’t an attempt at a lynch but a very real complaint and it included a copy of the letter that was drafted to make the original complaint. I still do not know who sent me that letter. Although looking at the diction, or rather lack of, I have my suspicions. I showed that to Wael, I felt I had a duty to do so that this information was so brazenly being passed around and that if someone had sent it to me, who else had they sent it to? Wael confirmed it was the letter that he had also seen. Wael explained that he had been fully investigated by the FA, Council, Police and they had found nothing so I wasn’t to worry. I was happy with that explanation. I sent Jim an email back in July after I had received some information that Steve Hamer and Ken Masters were colluding on this safeguarding matter. I never accused JC of being apart of it, in fact I said I hoped that he didn’t know about it and that I was willing to show him what I had, in the hope that he might realise the massive mistake he has made in backing Masters and that if he didn’t know about it, he has the opportunity to make it right. Jim never replied and I’ve subsequently found out via his press release that rather than speak to me, he would rather speak to the SCs solicitors and ignore the elephant that was in the room and clearly the main thrust of his demise. By his ignorance I’ll assume he did know, even if he wasn’t involved directly, and if he did know, he was complicit by not dealing with it appropriately.
  10. Everyone is pretty much correct. Yes, the game was poor from us. Yes we scored first. Very poor late equalizer again. Yes - Luton probably should have scored 3 Fact remains, NP has to do the work of 3 men to get this shower playing Championship standard. Some deadwood has gone, but besides 3 or 4 senior players, the rest are distinctly average. The kids give us all some hope. Pearson needs time to make the sum of the parts greater than the whole. So yeah, parts were crap. Yes Luton should have won. But this season is about staying up, clearing some losses off the books, and persuading our disinterested owner to fall back in love with the Football as much as he does the Rugby. It's about staying up. Midtable is a bonus. We have a few to come back, but honestly, a couple of injuries to key players, and we are in doo-doo. NP is doing the best he can whilst starting from scratch. For me he gets this season, with no criticism or complaint. When he can bring 6 or 7 in - then it's his team and time to judge.
  11. "Hey Mark, wanna make a quick seventy five grand if you sign my guy?"
  12. Probably time to finish your beer and go to bed mate. No ned to be uncouth
  13. Nice one Fordy. ? Didn't Hav just get married too? I'm sure it was him - maybe late last year? Be nice if she could get a card or something. I'd happily chip in for a small token for his wife. I think she was from the Phillipines? Maybe doesn't follow football, so won't be aware of the condolence thread. When you get back from the tropics Fordy - perhaps a go-fund me page for a week, and chip in for a small gift? Anyone know if Hav has new kids with the new wife - I don't know who he was close with on here. He was a decent poster, so seems a nice thing to do. Fordy?
  14. The only winner will be Gregor. Why? Because NP currently has the fans on board. Now, remember that every piece in the EP will be written with Gregors spin on it. Imagine City lose the next 5. Then lose 1-0 to the top side in the champ. Which headline would Lansdown want? "Improving City narrowly pipped by Premier League bound club - a win for City due soon" Or "Pearsons rabble throw in the towel again. Lansdown listening to fans and thinking of a new man at helm" No brainer. The new CEO or whoever is head of comms will have a word before the Boro game. I guarantee NP will be told to sort it. Over a beer or in the car park - but sort it, and sort it now. Gregor can write clickbait all year and Pearson can do nothing about it. Look at the posts already on this issue. Gregor can also get Pearson offside with the fans if our form doesn't pick-up quickly - and get NP the sack. Look on here - theres already a growing number of people calling out Pearson. NP needs to swallow his pride, and sort it out. When city are challenging again for promotion (hopefully!) the he can serve up his revenge nice and cold if he wants to. But at the moment, NP needs Gregor to play nice. I'm surprised more people can't see this. Gregors having a ball here.
  15. I suspect a psychiatrist would have a field day with Ashton. He's a borderline sociopath.
  16. I posted the sad emoji to some comments - simply because I cannot believe how desperate his wife must be to accept this behaviour. I can only assume (and I shouldn't) that it's because of the children (keeping the 'family unit' together) or she is so afraid of him, that she dropped the complaint (as there seems to be no doubt a 999 call was made). I can only feel such deep pity and sadness that a woman has to live like this in 2021 in a 'civilized' country. If it's fear - surely there must be restraining orders - and with the money that is within the family, she should be able to hide safely until the law does its thing. If it's to keep the family together - I can tell you now from a friend, that seeing your dad beat the living daylights out of your mum has lifelong consequences - she is better with the kids and supervised visits from Dad. If she's dropping it to keep in the 'good life' - I honestly don't know what to think about her. How much money is worth the odd black-eye? A Bloodied nose? I really hope that's not the case. If it is - the children are better off away from both of them in all honesty. Hopefully the Police can find CCTV and charge Barton accordingly - and throw the book at him. I honestly can't think why a woman would stand there covered in her own blood, after calling the Police, and then when they arrive, say she made it up? It has to be fear of Barton surely? What an awful situation for the children. I'm guessing a whole lot more will come out in due course - I really thought men had moved on from this. Clearly there is much, much more work to be done.
  17. And liked by current players Daly and Tutonda. What a basket case that club is................. Feckin brilliant - the methane snorters are going mental.
  18. Apparently, if you cut of the chain, and change the padlock on a gate, you were apparently able to get in before kick-off, meet a few other select chaps and run the 'tote-End boys' all the way out of that funny little roofed thing in the bottom right. Apparently. ?
  19. I think it's disgracefully embarassing that the 998th richest man on the Planet accepts a £100,000 handout from the Govt, when people are using foodbanks. If SL want's a Womens Team, then pay for it, not get Govt handouts. SL earns more than that in interest a day. Pretty sure that money could have been used in a better way, than propping up a Football club owned by a multi-billionaire
  20. The Lady - The Goddess.... Michelle Owen ? And the gas have...Irene. ?

Carl Saunders was on fire that night. What a performance by Rovers. Lost 2-1 but Great atmosphere. We sang nearly all the game. Steve McManaman came over at end and clapped the gas fans and we clapped him back. Memories for some. Eh Richy, I was there that night pal. i remember an hour before th start we was singin loud an proud, the th game got goin an Billy Ocean scored an th roof came off an we out sang th Kop....... ......but I’m always honest an I think they switched McManaman from right ta left an th whole game changed, an ta be perfectly honest I think anyone there that night will tell you th Kop roar literally blew us back, it was deafening. I’ll never forget that noise. Good times pal, who knows maybe more ta come one day. FTG. My car broke down on the way to the game and the breakdown people offered to tow my car home, but arranged a taxi for us to get to Anfield (from Stoke). Got in just after Carl Saunders goal, but remember how loud we were that night, some Liverpool fans who's been in the Kop said that we were the loudest away fans they'd ever known. Hitchhiked home with some fellow Gasheads - happy days. Jesus H Christ - the whoppers they come out with...
  22. He needs a rest. The kid has talent - but isn't being coached in a way he understands - as per matchday commentary comments. If he doesn't get it - then the message needs to be delivered in a way he can get it. Video, wax crayons, role-play, whatever. The biggest issue is that we have D grade coaches with some young players who could actually be Championship / lower Prem players one day. HNM, Semenyo, Bakinson and Vyner. If I were them, I'd be seeking a club with top-class coaching and fitness staff. Just to see how good I could actually be.
  23. Probably not the best look when you are in abysmal form and bottom of the league. Where do you watch the games @phantom ?
