Preston North End away match thread
Loosey Boy replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Sadly, I thought that this was always likely to happen after last week. ”After the Lord Mayors show….” and all that! Preston away on a cold Saturday afternoon…..just the sort of game we didn’t need Its where we are - an inconsistent Championship side with an average squad. -

If we can get the first goal today, the ground, except for the away end , will really turn on Lowe and that can only be a good thing for us! Big game for us today - can we repeat the standard of performance from last week?…..will be interesting to see COYRs -

Keen to see how we do/play tomorrow, after last Sunday’s result…..will say a lot about where we are under LM - can we maintain our standards and repeat that 2nd half performance for 90 minutes, against a team which seems to have a manager under significant pressure? Tomorrow’s result is much more important than the one against West Ham Lets hope Liam has the boys really motivated to get a positive result -
Great move for him personally and professionally. What a great signing he turned out to be - only £2m Someone who always worked tirelessly, gave his all and scored goals, especially the season when he got 22. Many a good memory of him in a City shirt but the game for me was, away at Sheff Utd - being in the away end that day, was simply brilliant If he does go…Good Luck, Andy

745am train just got to Reading…….due at Paddington at 11.30am -
How many are they taking for their big day out at Norwich today, anyone know?
-
Plan B for me already due to issues between Westbury and Reading which sound like they won’t be resolved until later tomorrow. Tivi to BTM and then to Paddington - GWR expecting issues today but hoping things are back to normal for tomorrow Just hope my change of plan doesn’t backfire on me!

Fingers crossed @Davefevs

When we win on Sunday, at least we won’t have to play the Cov away, league game at the end of Jan
-
Yep, hence the need to address the inconsistencies……something which LM will I’m sure be keen to do in Jan if we can

Let’s be honest, it won’t be a surprise -
Agreed @Jerseybean but let’s not forget that previously, we put three past Hull and four past Watford - there is creativity and goals in the team but the last two games have shown a lack of consistency. I firmly believe that a creative midfielder and striker are the two players we will look to bring in, in January - whether we can or do of course, are two different things but as you suggest, to progress in the 2nd half of the season, we must address the inconsistency.

Trains to Parkway cancelled due to flooding - looks like they will be cancelled for pretty much the whole day but trains to BTM are fine -

Is this how many they’ve sold for tomorrow? Or, how many attended last time? -

10 points from the last four games is a very pleasing return - if I’m honest, would have taken a point before tonight’s game, based on the Watford result (unlikely to be able to repeat that result) and our record against Brum (4 wins in last 25 meetings!)….. If, and it is an if, we could win on Monday, we will be set-up nicely, going into the New Year. -

Brum will be right up for it tomorrow……we need to get the first goal and then the ground could start to turn on Rooney/the players. I’m intrigued to see how we do tomorrow - this is the sort of game that City have a history of losing…..come on City, let’s keep the momentum going! COYRs -

Watford v Bristol city will it be on red button tomorrow??
Loosey Boy replied to roddy-d's topic in Football Chat
Should be on Robins TV, on the basis that UK-based Watford supporters can watch it via their channel? -
Yep - I’m on my usual train from Tiverton Parkway
-
Thanks - just bought it
-
Overall, a good set of results for us yesterday/today - 3 points further away from bottom three and 3 points closer to top 6
-
Let’s get TGH confirmed and then a striker in Jan - these two with McCrorie and Rob A, will feel like four new players
