The BBC news tonight confirms the claim of the 15ers that there are similarities between them and Spurs "... the only two clubs building new stands". Apparently neither team will perform at home during 2018.
Pretty the gas has performed at home this year. Either a farce or a comedy of errors. Can't remember which.

Against teams like Fleetwood and Rochdale, Sunderland (a genuinely well supported club you deluded Sags) are getting 29k attendances.
Pompey are getting 18k crowds, Bradford 16k. Coventry, Charlton and Barnsley are getting around 11k. Plymouth and Luton also have higher attendances that the Worlds most ‘loyal’ football fans from BS7.
So yeah, I can really see why the FA would be desperate to send referees to tent City as a training exercise in dealing with huge crowds.
Would have thought it would be an incentive - improve or you'll be condemned to this for the rest of your career.

My bet would be "If it's still 0-0 after 90 minutes we've still got a chance of taking home a point"
A slim chance

What a load of shite this article is - https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/revealed-how-attractive-bristol-rovers-2094981
Did they forget the £12m charge against the men?
Passed all the Evil Pest quality gates - you read it!

20k+ would be an interesting concept for the Mem.
Would require about 8000 on the pitch. Bit like Wembley in 1923. I'd feel sorry for the white horse.

Would have thought that such a major expansion would need a traffic management plan and widespread consultation with the community.

I'm looking forward to reading the technical specification when they get around to applying for permission.

I am really confused by the section of the post I have highlighted, what in their history would make a neutral more likely to choose them over us as a ream to follow? Neither club has a great track record, but ours would pan out better and in recent years, a lot better, is there a historical gem I am unaware of?
Flower beds. City has always been second in horticultural matters.

I was in Hawkshead today making deliveries. Stopped in the car park to eat a sandwich and then realised I was in exactly the same space I was in when 5 Live told me Bristol Rovers had just been relegated out of the football League.
Where were you at that same moment?
Crawley - best atmosphere ever for an end of season kickabout!

Likelihood is it won't run until 2095 anyway.Behind the flats where the bowling alley used to be - allegedly

back to the original point then,a 5 year contract is better for the manager than a 1 year deal and better for the club if another club want the manager but more expensive if they want to sack him.
Depends how the contract is written. Some are more watertight than others.

Full stadium update in the evil post ! Substantial progress made. They're now on plan F (but can't talk about it). I reckon given the 26 letters in the alphabet, Wally thinks he can string this out for a few more years

"How's Trevor Tainton these days, you remember him don't you, tore up his contract in 1982, not because he wanted to, because he was pressured into doing it, there were threats against players and their families, then Trevor went bankrupt.
This is part of what sickens me, all that money on a vanity project, and yet I've searched the internet and can't find anything about 1982 Ltd doing anything to make sure that the people who made that sacrifice back then are OK. We even had to organise the testimonial for Peter Aitken, that was at the same time as you lot were spending fifty million pounds on your ground. You bring shame on our great City.
Not a single redeeming feature, horrible club, nasty support base, as evidenced by your arrogance. I'm glad there's a gap, it means I don't have to worry about your lot creating mayhem once a year at our place. Now, back under your rock, S'hed."

I was surprised at that. Wonder how long they were searching for something they came out top in ?
As @richwwtk said, go back a little to the North/South split and attendances go up.
Used to beat us hands down at the Bristol Flower show in the sixties !

Are Rovers the only team with a congested fixture list?
Apparently so - had to travel all the way to Walsall yesterday - how could the EFL treat their favourite club in this way.

Dopey has blasted the EFL for requiring the Gas to play 4 games over the festive period including 2 on an energy sapping ploughed field!

Good to see the Banjo Island reds on the pitch.

They sold it years before they left ,but had too leave because they couldn't afford the rent. I think it was owned by the people who ran the greyhound racing but might have my wires crossed there. I know they were evicted in 86, i was at the last derby there 1-1 i think. Dog racing still went on for a few years after the rent boys left.
Sold in somewhat dodgy deal (typical ). Think the mafia has a more ethical trading history!

Random thought to share- For me just a lick of paint here and there would at least help to make the place more asthetically appealing! It’s just an old ugly rusty and concrete mess.
If the club put a message out there for fans to buy/donate a certain colour and type of paint I.e blue and white - and come along in your own time to help spruce the place up, I’m sure people would! At least we could see some form or improvement going on then.! Why wait for the chiefs when the Indians can do something! Be nice to have a few banners I.e Irene lyrics and come on you blues etc and large motivating club posters around too! We can do lots of things that do not cost much money but as per usual we just do nothing! We should at least care for what we do actually have! No point pining for a mansion when you can’t even decorate and maintain your 1 bed flat!Lipstick on a pig !

Darrell is talking rubbish.
Rovers are nowhere near 30 years behind.
More like 50 or 60.
I started in 66. The gate then was a better ground than the Mem now. Our team was better and we had a chairman with ground improvements that he would deliver. So 60 is about right.

It really is the level of delusion... They're discussing how it'd be nice if stadiums can be upgraded to 80k if they reached the Champions League:
http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/11049/on-scenes?page=16
I mean we're a lot closer to it and I still don't think I'll see the day City are regularly playing in the Champions League. It'd be really, really nice and I wish it would happen, but I'm realistic enough to realise it's probably not!
The poster wants a potential capacity of 80k, but with a proper home end with a low roof. Sounds like a big tin of sardines.

Reminds me of Arsenal crashing out of every cup in a week. Luckily they haven't got any cash for a trophy cabinet.

Yep, most of the new supporters of the late 70's First Division BCFC disappeared pretty sharpish once the going got tough.
City's average gate:
78/79 - 22,306
83/84 - 4,799
As one of the less than 5k who were there all the way through I remember it got bloody draughty in the EE.
83/84 - promotion season - that one felt a little warmer than the 2 before !
