Certainly 30 at least. My first place of shopping when I moved to Bemmy in 81. Didn't last more than 10 years.

Just been reading the post article on our new arena. Apparently we now have full planning permission after 11 months of detailed discussion with the council planners covering such topics as the exact nature and colour of materials to be used for the build, exact design of a pedestrian walkway, colour and standard of paving stones. And the gas think they can get by with a cartoon drawing.

It might have to be if it’s in the state reported. They suggested on last nights local news that work could start earlier than planned, but that it will take up to 4 years to complete.
It seems ridiculous that this has to “bid for Challenge funding”. It’s essential infrastructure, not some nice to have.
It's interesting. If it's fast tracked, I would expect to come from a repair budget. Having spent major millions on refurbishment, doubt there will be any will to demolish and replace (Marvs plan).

Surprised Clarke Harris hasn’t scored yet??
Not playing. He's been a naughty boy.

Looks like they could do with a goal-scorer...
There is acknowledgement on gaschat that their marquee signing is in fact .... a marquee.

Still look a bit tentish with a canvas roof. Although fair play to them, they have employed the latest slimline pillar technology.

Marv's plans for the roads in the area were only a series of crude drawings probably produced by a lowly paid intern. I doubt whether any costings were produced. As to the replacement/repair cost, who can say what inflation will be in 10 years time. Can't see this one being fast tracked.

If, as ManUre's statement says, "Mason did not commit the offences" why are they getting rid of him??
Stupid question, really.
Obviously a deal done with Mason. You go quietly and we'll say something nice about you. We'll even say your innocent based on private evidence which will never see the light of day. Grubby deal.

It would be nice if William and/or Kate could be there at the final.
Yep, at their own expense of course.

Perhaps to satisfy everyone, Nigel's press conferences should start with hand on the bible as he recites "I promise to tell the truth, the whole truth.........

Isn’t it made out of maccano ? Won’t take long to bolt together once the planning permission comes through.
But wally never had mechanno (the toolkit for the imagination). He had a fully assembled scalextrix complete with winners flag.

Time for a poll.
1 When will they admit failure
2 Who will they blame.

Funnily enough, we had that same discussion. The average male GK must be well north of 6'2" (185cm in new money), whereas female GKs are nowhere near that. So why is the net the same size? Having said that, there haven't been that many goals.
It was a decision of the women to play same dimensions as men.

It's been 4 years since she last played in the WSL, and she is now 30. Do you think she will be up to WSL standard?
I years since she played for the City in the Championship. I'd say yes based on that season. Quick and strong.

Imagine how low one's expectations must be when you can be smug that a new stand will only take 1 week to build & fit out..!
Surely it will take longer than a week to decorate, put up required signage & install all the concessions facilities..?
Have they even got a dodgy sky box ordered to be able to stream Babestation to the masses yet..?
As far as I'm aware, the actual build (which I'm assuming must be some kind of modular, click together type solution) doesn't actually take very long atall - it's all the dressing of the new structure that takes time & then, as many have already said - test events & getting the safety certificates issued...
If it only takes a week or 2, then why not have had it done already.?!
I've seen these stands in action for cricket. At Taunton, the stand is on existing tarmac parking. At Bristol, on grass with temporary matting just in case of rain. To plonk a stand on bare mud would be a interesting proposition. Maybe the shop restocking is introducing the new Gas boot cleaning kits.

Genuine question, are there that many numbers of away followers that would warrant the effort to arrange a separate section for away fans?
On the basis that the whole of the lower Lansdown stand is currently available to purchase in, there is clearly no area for away fans
Having the lower Lansdown stand open is going to have large areas spare anyway most games, so I would assume like non league football (and the attendances are on a par) the easiest thing is people move seats depending on which way the team you are supporting is attacking?
Don't think the numbers would warrant it, although Man City last had one supporter with a penetrating whiny nasal voice who I'd quite like to see segregated, possibly at the HPC whilst we play at Ashton.

I don’t follow it as closely as you, but I don’t recall us losing anyone of note…young Aspin has been loaned back hasn’t she?
Of course we need to recruit, but season is a good way away.
Lost 6 with first team experience (2 loans included). At present we have 12 for the starting line up plus 5 young uns for the bench (includes 2 under 18). Imagine this for the men's team in early June. It would be the ultimate meltdown.

Which would be absolutely criminal of the club if this was purely because of a lack of investment, especially considering how hard the team have worked to get back to the WSL
At the moment, we have lost 6 players from the championship winning squad and added one player. At present, we will struggle to fill the bench. At least 4 players needed and they need to be experienced.

Begs the question then what are they doing, with 1,000 in the lower and 700 in the top that is barely halfway across the stand in either tier
No man's land. Maybe some netting or some barbed wire.
