Isn't it weird how teams doing well never seem to worry about the ref despite him treating them the same.

I'll hold my hand up...I questioned whether he was right for us due to some dreadful performances and bizarre tactics last season and the start of this...so quite justified at that time and under those circumstances I recon. I said I would give it a few games and may well change my mind if things improve.....and yes, things have improved and I am slowly coming round to him. But I certainly won't be fully on side until he sorts out the one basic thing that most managers normally prioritise first...the fragile, leaky defence.

Parachute payments still need to be spent wisely by the manager to buy the correct players to make a decent team. There are plenty of teams who have struggled in the championship even with parachute payments. There were also teams in the championship like Brighton, Forest, Brentford and Bournemouth (first time) who did better than those with parachute payments and got promoted to the Prem.

All you do is moan at the moaners. People have the right to point out areas which need improving such as the defence - it doesn't mean they are negative, it's means they are saying it as it is and want the team to improve. Deep down you know our defence is not up to scratch but you can't admit it for some strange blinkered reason. It's fine to point out things you are not happy with sometimes.....it doesn't mean you love the team any less.

Then its the coaching

It's not the overall performance.....it's the 2 conceded goals where our defending was non existent.

The way we conceded the first goal fully deserved some moaning.

We shouldn't have to be worrying about our defence every game....it's pathetic

Correct.....it's the only thing which isn't quite right with us imo......if we could sort this, the sky's the limit!

Yep good performance.....a couple more to follow like that and we can judge properly.

Many on here dismiss players too quickly without thinking that they can be coached into being a better player or will improve with age and if they grow physically stronger. It wasn't long ago that many were writing off Semenyo but look at him now. Give 'em a chance!

Easy tiger! As I put when I launched this thread, I so want him to succeed and therefore hope we continue with last night's form. But, it is only one decent performance, so let's wait to see if it carries over to the next 3 or 4 games. If it does, I may start liking NP again. ??

Showing spirit and digging in isn't enough Dave - it like describing the kid who came last at the school sports day. I want some footballing ability and winning performances.
