You would hope that Nige has trialled this out in training for the last 2 weeks and it must have looked good. He wouldn't just throw them in there without a possibility it could work....would he? ?

If Pearson isn't well and isn't involved with the players at the moment, there is no way he should be picking the team - in fact he should sever all links with us until he is better and back to work.

And is Nige totally cut off from any decision making and communication whilst he is unwell or is he still having an input remotely.

Looks like he will be in charge for at least the next few games. I know eff all about him really but he has a chance to show his worth and improve things in the pitch. Sometimes, events like this can be the making of someone who had previously sat in the shadows. Good luck to him!

There must be some clause/sub clause in the contract between Nige and BCFC which covers retirement due to ill health. I wonder what the financial implications are for each party if this happens.

I think that interview has actually told us quite a lot regarding Niges future. The massive implications of what Gould said are that they hope he comes back but he probably won't.

Nige may not be back in person but how much is he directing things from his home. I am up for a temp to come in but will he be?

Yes..Gould was rather unsure when asked if he would be back and replied that we hope he will be back. That word takes the control away from them and makes Nige as the decision maker over all this. I think the situation is ongoing and things are going on in the background that we are not party to.

I don't think you need a press conference to make an announcement

Don't be taken in by his previous reputation and hype....he seems to have lost the management skill he had back then.

Have we been taken in by the Pearson hype. Previously successful managers can lose their mojo and he may have. I think we have got to the stage where we really should have seen more of an improvement in the team and we haven't. He has brought in 5 players who should have made the team look a bit better but they haven't really. Plus decent managers have the skill to get better from squads they inherit.

Watching the game at the weekend and previous ones, to me it is clear that we do have reasonably decent individual defenders but as a unit we are nothing short of a shambles at times. Sounds bizarre but some of the defenders can actually play well whilst the defence as a whole can be dreadful. The goal v Barnsley was keystone cops and an illustration of just that. People will say we haven't let many in but that is more to do with Bents and very good fortune in many games.

To be fair to him - despite the win, the performance today has probably strengthened his position.

Every post match interview he highlights our weaknesses and faults but I wish he'd ******* sort them out at some point.
