Joe Bryan - Signed for Millwall
Mr Hankey replied to The hand of RO'D's topic in All Things Ex Players and Managers
Meh, that's a shame. Was excited at first thought of him coming back, but it's not the end of the world. He's an interesting character is Joe & maybe he would see coming back here as a potential failure from his side? If he ends up going to Cardiff then that would be a bizarre choice to say the least -
Does he play primarily at LB/LWB? Thought he was a CB at first! If so, can see this meaning the Bryan deal is dead unfortunately.

Sort of rumour that comes out of the blue which is usually realistic. Kalas is obviously gone so this makes sense on a free as well.

It’s fantastic! They deserve everything coming to them. -

Wherever Bryan ends up, it sure as shit wont be Cardiff! They won’t be signing anyone from this division, maybe not even the league below. A dross of random crap from europe/turkey is where they will be shopping. -

Can’t imagine Pearson being the type to let someone “ooh” & “ahh” over signing for us this season, think he will want the main targets in early doors or move on to others. If Bryan isn’t fully sure he wants to sign, especially based on Pearsons previous comments, he will pull the offer relatively quickly. Still think he will sign for us, but if he hasn’t in the next 10 days then i can’t see it happening. -

Completely forgot that he had left on a free from Swansea, you could be right with that one, would seem more likely over Bryan. -

Maybe people just putting 2 & 2 together & coming up with 5? Russell Martin is set to be appointed & as he was "interested" in Bryan for Swansea, maybe people assume he will be for the Saints? But as they spent £6 million on a young left back from Man City last summer i'm not so sure if he will get as much game time over there as he will with us if he chooses them. Time will soon tell. -
I mean moaning about the standard of refs at our level, which is truly awful, is one thing but physically attacking a ref & his family (whilst making his daughter cry as she is scared) is a completely different kettle of fish. I can't imagine any City fan doing that. For what it's worth, he did ref a good game in the circumstances he was placed in. The only thing he should of done different was sent a member from both sets of benches off early doors to set a standard.

Got a feeling this one could be announced today perhaps as apparently Aberdeen could sign another defender pretty soon from the Netherlands.

Expect nothing less from the scumbags that support Roma, ******* vile fans same as most in that country

Nothing naive about it, if he doesn’t come here then i won’t lose sleep, but thinking Luton are paying 30 grand a week for Joe Bryan is naive! West Ham are currently a “bottom” prem side - if they come in for him do i think he will go there? Absolutely he will! -

I know what you mean, but i have had a feeling that Luton were getting promoted for a while anyway, they were always going to win the play-offs in my opinion & i would of thought they would have made contact preparing on this outcome a little while back with players, but everything seems to point to this being a done deal - even if Luton were to come in late notice, i still don’t think Bryan would go. He’s had the Prem, had the season abroad, think he will be ready to come home now (?? crossed!) -

I’m not quite sure, Bryan was never good enough for the Prem & it showed whilst at Fulham (nothing against him, would love him to re-sign here this summer), think they are going to be looking at young players to bounce them back when they get relegated, or the other end of the spectrum of much older/prem proven players on one 1 year deals - something i can’t see Bryan accepting. -
Can’t see much bitterness here at all, in fact i think the vast majority think fair ******* play, more so a lot of people (& rightly so) thinking if they can do it with their infrastructure then why are we always so far behind these clubs? In what way?
-
Its ******* shit is what it is, but so was Wigan v Blackpool back in 2011……& in all them years we still haven’t pushed on! Fingers crossed Pearson can change that.
-
Just imagine where we could of been if Lansdown had half a footballing brain and not an ego in place of it….
-
Think it falls on the coach, there was no composure or calmness from the beginning, from minute 1 they were getting counter attacked & he couldn’t stop it, they seemed far too excited…….also Dortmund aren’t a great team, Bayern have had the season from hell but still won it, if you can’t win it this year against them then you never will.
-
Think its too little too late unfortunately.
-
Dunno mate, struggle to see how a 33 year old and 36 year old lower league player for most of their career can improve that much…..i mean Forest signed like 20 players and stayed in the prem which says a lot, the bottom half of the top tier and this division are incredibly weak.
-
Think it shows just how badly the standard of English football has become, particularly the championship.
-
This is so poor from Dortmund, don’t have a team in the Bundesliga but have always preferred them to do well over Bayern, would be devastated if i was a fan, such a bad performance in one of the biggest games of their history.
-
That doesn’t surprise me, they are getting counter attacked everytime and with a partnership at the back of Hummels & Sule it has to be one of the slowest going in the “elite” levels! Have only watched thier keeper a couple of times but he looks a bit of a shocker, especially as he has been linked with some big teams. First goal was awful defending from Haller but there is no way he should of conceded it.
-
Shouldn’t be too much of a suprise that Dortmund are bottling it, they are pretty shit especially without Bellingham starting, even Chelsea managed to knock them out of the Champions League.
