Vyner - year extension option activated
Mr Hankey replied to View from the Dolman's topic in Football Chat
In that way it makes a bit of sense, but a club currently 9th in the Prem looking at Vyner? Would be an odd one, especially as he will be 26 by the start of next season, young of course but not a spring chicken. Just to be clear, i’m having a dig at Zak (i have done many times in the past) as he has improved tremedously this season, but a move to the Prem would shock me. -
Vyner - year extension option activated

I mean Vyner has done well this season…..but Brentford, for real!?!? He’s vastly improved to being a competent mid-table Championship defender, but bloody hell he would be terrorised in the division above, i dont think he is even good enough for a team aiming to get promoted, let alone being established in the Premier league. -
I think he’s a very average keeper at this mid/lower level of the championship & probably an extremely good keeper at the level below. Its not an area that we need to address this summer due to other needs and he is currently doing a decent enough job overall but potentially the summer after depending on how we are looking at progressing (play-offs ect).

I dont have a dog in this fight, but these lino’s are the worst i have ever seen, think Wrexham are going to have to battle the officials as well as Notts it they get anything from this.

Bloody hell, how old are you? My opinion is we wont sign a striker, no need to be a snowflake over it. Dont think i have said anything ground-breaking with that opinion! -

Hahaha what does Football Manager have to do with anything? I mentioned Chris Martin as he is exactly the type of striker you are referring to. Would i like us to sign a 30 goal a season striker? Absolutely! Do i think we will sign a striker? Nope! We have Bell, Conway, Cornick, Wells & even our 22 goal top scorer from last season Weimann - thats 5 strikers, we wont go for another one……it isn’t Football Manager, its real life. -

Currently 10 points clear or relegation with 6 games remaning, i think we are 99% safe! Wouldnt suprise me if we finished 18th -20th due to the injuries we have, but not relegated. -

What, like Chris Martin did? That went well……We need defenders and midfielders way more than attackers……as i said i will be amazed if we spent money on a striker, especially the type you are suggesting. -

You said we “need an upgrade” which i assume would mean you are expecting/wanting one? Not a chance. We also do not “need” another striker. -

Exactly, plus the young strikers have nothing but good things to say on Wells & how positive an influence he is…..but there has always been a minority who have never taken to Nahki, for reasons unknown to me. -

Pretty sure its the defence that is the “same old issue” & not our attack…..but you do you, fella. -

Living in dream world if you think we will be getting an upgrade on Wells, up front is the one position we dont need to add to during the off season, midfield and defence (possibly keeper) absolute we will but be amazed if we signed a forward…..especially one as good, let alone better, than Wells. -

Think you have got the wrong end of the stick here fella……i said i don’t recall Kent or Diony ever getting booed by the fans, i could be wrong, but i certainly dont recall either getting booed when being subbed off or subbed on. Where did i mention that i think Pearson wouldnt consider playing Cornick due to crowd reaction? All im saying is i thought that it was wrong to boo him, dont get me wrong, i think he has been crap so far and really dont see him working out here, but hopefully im wrong. I certainly dont think Pearson will base anything off of the crowds reaction. Regarding City fans, i do think we have a large moronic following, my mind wont change on that i’m afraid!

Of course every fans have their idiots, however i tend to read the opponents forums the day before we play them & almost every single time they have nothing good to say about us….our team perhaps, but certainly not our fans, which i think is justifiable, only last season every time there was an opposition corner there were cans of Thatchers flying at the players! I was in the South Stand and the booing was noticable from there. For what its worth, i dont think many other teams fans would boo their own player after only having a handful of games, i dont think Diony or Kent even got that!
-
Yep, couldnt believe it when i heard that. We certainly have a lot of idiotic fans, not too suprising that we aren’t a particularly well liked club.
-
Well thats just factually incorrect, granted he didnt put it away but on his debut he had a one on one with the keeper which was saved & it was his cross that led to the second goal against Blackpool.

Without jumping on him as he’s very young & obviously will come good…..but if Cornick was putting in the same kind of displays that Bell has over the past 2 matches this place would be losing it’s head! -

Bit of luck that will be the end of Bell at CF for a while -
