  1. You would really call Magnússon, Djuric & Pisano “successful” transfers??? I would say they were all part of an extremely expensive failed Mark Ashton/Lee Johnson experiment which was part of the reason we ended up in a financial mess! All 3 signed for big wages & transfer fees (apart from Pisano, but im sure he had a wedge of a signing on fee) & 2 had pretty big injuries throughout thier time with us. Edit: actually could be wrong on the transfer fee’s being high as i can’t remember, but i still wouldnt class them as successful transfers.
  2. Lansdown won’t back Pearson from here on, i hope i am wrong, but i feel as if he will be looking forward to seeing the back of him. He has sorted the mess and should be fully backed, but as NP seems to call it as he see’s it, then it is completley against what Lansdown likes in a manager (we all know it’s his club and his money so he will do what he wants & no one can question it blah blah blah). Think this time next year our manager will be the one that is currently at Plymouth.
  3. What a keeper, wish we could have him in between the sticks, 1000% better than what we currently have.
  4. Soooooooo, without sounding like a dick, what was it all about? Had a good laugh at the paper airplanes being chucked at the stewards (flagpoles less so)
  5. Nice one , just did this & it's updated to Birmingham, cheers!
  6. Was going to ask the same thing.......mine is just in the "Expired Passes" section of the wallet as the Preston game, i assumed it was meant to stay in your wallet & automatically update, but doesn't appear to be the case!
  7. Easy for Shearer to say that having won the prem! It's not even just the Bundesliga, they have a real chance of winning the Champions League.
  8. Not sure if Bayern will be that forgiving considering they have spent all summer chasing him! If that was his plan, you would think he would of made that clear to them & they could of just got him to sign a pre-contract in January. All seems a bit strange at the minute.
  9. The English pundits (particularly Carragher & Neville) along with the media have been praying that he would turn down Munich, such a strange mentality. Shame he doesn't appear to have the hunger of Bellingham. Record goal scorer is nothing to be sniffed at, but that will get broken eventually anyway & even if he goes to Germany for 3 or 4 years he could still come back & get the record. Can't understand how it's even something he needs to consider........& why he couldn't of just been straight & honest with Bayern back in June.
  10. Pochettino...........until December!
  11. Bizarre from Kane, does appear that he likes to be the big fish in a small pond if he rejects this. People saying he is going to see out his contract & move to a prem team next season - but who? United have just spent £70 odd million on a young striker who will be their future, Man City have Haaland & he won't end up at Arsenal, so that leaves the unlikely destinations of Liverpool & Chelsea. Very strange. Can't help but feel it would be for the benefit of the England national team if he was at an elite club instead of Spurs.
  12. Absolutely, hope he’s bloody brilliant for them. They have made some decent signings, but i know nothing about their new manager so have no idea how they will do this season. Hopefully he can use them as a showcase to catapult himself to champions league football within a few years.
  13. I was being a bit bitter in regards to Alex if i’m honest! ? However, regarding Kelly it’s not been all roses, wasn’t a starter throughout much of last season & was stripped of all captaincy duties (including as vice and third). Scott’s ceiling is certainly higher, hopefully he uses them as more of a stepping stone to Champions league football.
  14. Hope the move to Bournemouth works out better for the lad than it did for Lloyd Kelly, be devastating for him if he’s still there in 4 years time.
  15. Couldnt quite believe some of the responses to his display on saturday…..i thought first half he was quality, they just kept him quiet throughout the second, but thats otib for ya!

    Tommy Conway

Did think he seemed a bit “off” from the limited time we saw him on the pitch on Saturday….didn’t quite seem as sharp as we are used to seeing him, so could well be something that has carried over from the pre-season knock that has just led on to this. Massive shame for him & us.
  17. Oh i’m not saying our summer has been bad at all, i think it has been very good, but considering i had no idea until half hour ago that they had signed Josh Bowler & Karlan Grant (i know he had a bad year last season but he knows where the net is) just imagine how delighted we would of been with them 2 with a bit of Aaron Ramsey chucked in……his legs can’t be anymore passed it than Andy King’s! We would be pretty confident of a very good season. Not sure how they are going to get away with it, unless they win promotion? Something about a Turkish manager doesn’t scream success to me however. Hopefully it all goes tits up.
  18. Im shocked at their signings, they have had a better summer than us which seems absurd considering the restrictions they should be under!
  19. Think Ayling is going to struggle big time this season, looked shot last year and is getting on a bit, no pace left in him.
  20. Yeh you are correct on that one, forgot that he was a left-sided defender, probably not where we would need any further cover.
  21. I think Ciaran Clark, depending on his fitness & wage demands, would be an outstanding signing for a season or 2.
  22. Thats one of the things that crossed my mind after hearing. Can’t remember watching too much of him in real life, but always used to sign him. RIP Chris.
