Huddersfield Town at home match thread
pillred replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
And to think at one point it looked like he might be off, can't see that happening now, I feel finally we are seeing the player we all thought we had signed it helps he is actually starting games long may it continue; he even had his own little song last night the fans are really starting to warm to him. -

I never said it always happens; I said very few there is a difference. -

Yes it's at least double the original estimate, which is why the current estimate of the cost of the Portishead line should be ignored as it will almost certainly be at least double by 2026. And very few large projects ever come in on budget, can you name me one? -

With inflation touted to hit 20% next year and no end in sight to the end of the war in Ukraine pushing up fuel and transport costs I am afraid I have to agree, can you imagine what the final cost will be by 2026 rarely has any largescale project in this country ever come in on anything approaching the original budget, I give you HS2! -
I was looking at the Championship table tonight after the games and literally did a doubletake I thought there had been a printing error until I checked their results.

After 6 games has any team ever only scored ONE goal and conceded NONE? remarkable.

There are many definitions of better, at what? banging the ball up as far as they can and hoping something falls? because they were definitely better than us at that from what I saw. -

I hope they are as well, what would be the point otherwise unless they are just happy to take a wage, we need players with ambition I'm tired of the club employing journeymen who realise if we do go up they are not good enough and would consequently be making themselves redundant. -
A lot to be said for parental influence, I still think sentimentality has played at least some part in their enduring place in the global hearts though I realise that's hard to quantify after such a long time, would they have been so globally admired and supported had it not it happened? I don't know.

Mid table that's what we should be aiming for, really, well for you maybe, me? I hope the management and players have got a little more ambition, sorry if that sounds a little too optimistic but with the players I think we have and their possible improvement I hope their ambitions are a little higher than that. -

If this does end up a draw I hope we score with the last kick of the game like they did last season to us. -
Maybe this is a bit controversial but I doubt Man U would have the same support around the world and in this country if there had not been the terrible air crash in 1958, I think they became a lot of peoples second team and that seems to have endured through the generations, what do you lot think?

That really is a sorry looking site looks like all the stands shrunk in the wash. -
Yes it is, they have the football on everywhere you look and a good sound system throughout the pub, it's a shame the sports bar feel they have to start charging, I know it's not a fortune but I hope this doesn't become the norm I mean most people going there to watch games will spend a fair bit on food and drink anyway.

If you are paying £6 to stand the drink is not really complimentary is it, I think I will stick to the duke with it's 4 screens and much cheaper prices, I think they have a bit of a cheek to be honest. Though I know it will be a great atmosphere and a lot of places in town already charge that for a pint.

Think you have summed up his future pretty well tbh, and I think he realised it as well, time unfortunately waits for no man and with the talent we suddenly have at our disposal he realised that as well, a bit like the snake was good to frustrate the opposition last ten that may well become CMs future with us.
