Cardiff are financially a bit wobbly aren't they. If he went to them and we didn't match their wage offer I'd be pretty disappointed. We need an extra body who can play the two centre-half roles and he knows the team and city inside out. I'm still hopeful he signs.

Everyone we expected to be present was. Wiles-Richards didn't play (I'm assuming he didn't get any time in Swindon's net?) as Bajic was given an hour instead. Main headline, still no Kal Injured: Atkinson Naismith Benarous

I actually think it would be a good move for all parties. We'll loan in Haaland as cover.

Pre-season, means nothing, I'm not worried at all. But I do want to see us get better in those moments after we score. We must protect leads better this coming season.

Very different forwards but I do have a special feeling about Bell. Conway is excellent but something about Bell's game just moves me.

It's a good XI, even better when you factor in the lack of Atkinson/Naismith/Pring/Weimann/Conway/Mehmeti. We're putting a really nice little squad together.

I could see there being something in them delaying the release of the third kit for fear of backlash. The club will be aware of how under scrutiny the club apparel is following the Hummel/O'Neills switch mid season and the negative reactions to both O'Neills kits and splat. Or they're releasing it really late to try and maximise interest/'hype'? Either way it's a bit dumb. If the away kit proves popular, get it out now so you can sell more units and if it proves unpopular, rip the band aid off and get it over with. Finally bring this saga to an end ? At the end of the day, it's one season. We'll have many more kits and suppliers over the coming decades. We may have to write this one off!

Fingers crossed we see Kal back getting minutes. As things stand, we need him against Preston.

Why are you so sure the away kit will be blue? Because of the light blue training range or have you heard/seen something? Asking genuinely btw, not a dig. Fwiw I hope it's not blue.

Tin hat on, how many of the people complaining about the shirt quality have actually held/worn one? I share the frustrations about the splat robin and poor communication from the club, but I won't speak on the shirt quality until I've bought one and seen for myself. I remain mildly optimistic.

CB, CM need. GK nice to have. I’m not worried about our forwards at all, 2 good players ready to go across each position of the front line. If we lose Scott and use the big old bags of money to land Cole Palmer on loan, I’d like that. Midfield options of James, Knight, Palmer (first choice); Williams, King, Weimann (second choice).

Yea mate it's just controversy for clicks. I'm certainly losing no sleep. At the end of the day, big club or small club, you get three points for a win so who gives a fart!

Without taking the time to dissect other clubs business, I'd guess we're around maybe 5th to 10th for money spent this window? Sounds as though we've spent a little under 5 million on McCrorie, Dickie and Knight. Coventry just splashed 8 million on Ellis Simms, so they're immediately clear of us. Worth bearing in mind, looking at one window in isolation can be quite misleading. Prior to this window, we've been very cautious financially with free agents and small fees (George Tanner) for a good two or three years, as we navigated FFP issues. This summer, we seem to be past said issues and with the Semenyo sale and a potential further big pay packet coming for Scott, we've loosened the belt substantially.

First bid in. The calm is coming to a close and the storm is starting to rumble. Here’s hoping we price them out. Considering they’re starting 10 million short (assuming the widely quoted 25 million is correct, I hope it’s 30), it doesn’t seem impossible.

I would LOVE it if we said: 25 million was for early business to give us time to replace Alex, now the season is 3 weeks away he’s 30.
