  1. Still crossing fingers he sticks around. The books are balanced with our reduced wage bill and the £10+m we got for Antoine (plus another potential outgoing I don’t want to think about), offer him a respectable amount and let’s keep a promotion quality player in our ranks.
  2. Welcome Haydon. Can’t go too far wrong on a young, free acquisition! Sounds like he’s impressed in L1 and will be a good understudy/competitor to Pringy ?️
  3. Fair farts chaps. I’m sure we all agree that we don’t want to be having to improvise at the back again ie King or signing free-agents mid season, and I do hope you’re both right and we see a settled and functional back line with able cover throughout the season. I’ll reiterate, I REALLY like Naismith, and I hope he proves to be as beneficial to the team as he has shown he can be next season.
  4. Injured as soon as he moved into the role, he looked excellent there. I rate him a lot but he cost us a glut of points when he was in the back-line with errors. His incisive passing and ability to spring counter attacks should be the attributes we utilise most, imo from dm.
  5. I do see your point and having flexible players can certainly be useful. With Naismith, I've liked what I've seen of him far more in midfield, for me personally that's where we should be using him. From what I've read on McCrorie, he's versatile but his weakest position is central defense (granted that's from Aberdeen supporters, perhaps some bitterness). CB is such a crucial position to a team and a season, I'd like to see enough devoted CB's that it's rare we need to be moving players into the role from dm, full back. But that's just me (and I hope Nige)
  6. JB wasn't too complimentary of the club after leaving iirc and it sounds as though he may have stitched us up a bit this Summer. Of course we don't know the whole story but something seems off. Shame this seems dead, would have been so nice to have one of our academy boys whose left for the PL dream choose to come home. Maybe there's more to it, but sad regardless.
  7. If Kalas isnt re-signing, we are absolutely going to need another centre-half. Vyner, Dickie and a badly injured Atkinson aren't sufficient, and I know people will say Naismith, McCrorie and Roberts can all step in but Naismith should be competing for a DM spot, Roberts for LB and we don't know where Nige sees McCrorie. An LCB next for me.
  8. I do too quality wise, but it'd be one short on quantity imo - with Kalas, Atkinson and Naismith all coming off challenging seasons from an injury perspective. I feel like we've been a centre-back or two light for a couple of seasons now and I'm certain it's cost us plenty of points.
  9. I hope he signs. I try not to let heart rule head when it comes to what's best for City but I can't help but love TK. TK and one more centre-half would also see us sorted for that position - Dickie, Atkinson, Kalas, Vyner and one more, Naismith and McCrorie when needed.
  10. I dunno man. When 115 charges are brought to your door something is clearly amiss! Factor in too it’s not all transfer fee. The Haaland deal for instance will come to a grand total of 160 million should he serve all 5 years. And he’s one of a few superstars they’ve bought. Ederson, Laporte, Dias… they may not have come from Europes elite clubs but their ability was well known and they weren’t cheap.
  11. It’s nice to see how many people are happy for them but this isn’t the beautiful story some are telling. 115 financial breaches - the repercussions would kill off a ‘non-elite’ club.
  12. Lukaku stinkers are a whole new level of stinker. That Belgium game in the World Cup and this tonight. He can draw a blank from 30 xG.
  13. I mean why put the three in ALL CAPS. Unless it means signing number three - not our former number three is singing.
  14. City’s latest Twitter post. Am I overthinking that?
  15. Pretty sure Man City will walk this. Come on Inter. If Man City win they will have bought pretty much every honour available.
  16. I'd be on that like a rash. Done well, that'd look great.
  17. Well put that. Makes for a much nicer forum.
  18. I don’t know if this is in @Bcfcshags remit. Given we already have our home and third kit - I don’t think the club will be in any rush to announce either. Still, something to look forward to in a quiet summer. What are people hoping for? I’m hoping for black but predicting purple and lime.
  19. So this is, to our knowledge, probably the most likely to be announced next? City have posted at 8am on the dot, but could be coincidence.
  20. Being nit-picky, the League Cup and EFL Cup are the same thing. I think for the latter, you were referring to the EFL Trophy (aka the Papa John's Trophy, Johnstone's Paint Trophy etc.). But I do agree, we won a double in 14/15. Our first and only I believe.
  21. Nor is La Liga and the Copa Del Rey, as they didn't win the FA Cup ?
  22. Really looking forward to this game. Been scrolling the West Ham forum, the excitement and nerves are palpable in their words. Not often you get to a major final, much less a European major final. Forza Fiorentina.
