Joe Bryan - Signed for Millwall
BCFCGav replied to The hand of RO'D's topic in All Things Ex Players and Managers
Club posting on the hour but that has to be coincidence. Joe has games left for Nice, McRorie for Aberdeen, O'Brien for Molenbeek. So Currie or nothing (much like my attitude to dinner on a Saturday). -
Anyone but Luton. They irritate me.

Queens Park Rangers away match thread
BCFCGav replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
We were under the cosh a bit at times but a well earned clean sheet for the boys. I’d still prefer Naismith in DM I think, but he played well at the back today. Side note, I really rate Bell. High ceiling there I reckon. -
When we land Joe Bryan I don’t think many Championship sides will be stronger in the position than us, with JB and Pringy.
-
And we’re done! On the topic of this thread, availability has felt much better this season. I think Rennie and his team are doing really well. If we can maintain good availability throughout next season (with a squad padded out a bit this summer) I think that gives us every chance of a play-off finish. Bit of early optimism for you! Good win today, well done boys. And well done OTIB on another good season. Injured: Atkinson Benarous

Ok then, last one for this season. It’s a strangely pensive time. Thankfully, there’s another month of football to watch courtesy of Prem, FA Cup and Europe but not the highs and lows of our beloved reds. Already counting down to August to be honest. 1 change to the 18. Dasilva out, Mehmeti in. I think we’ve seen the last of Jay then, a good servant for us. Mehmeti meanwhile is just getting started, and I think there’s lots to come from the lad. Hoping he gets minutes today. COYR. ?️ Injured: Atkinson Benarous

No involvement with Aberdeen today. Injured or deal done? I suspect the latter. Edit - minor hernia op according to Aberdeen fans.

Football Manager - Twitter thread - excellent read
BCFCGav replied to Fordy62's topic in Football Chat
Escapism and video games are a good marriage in general. Despite loving football and games I’ve never been one for FM, but I remember going through a particularly rough patch and using GTA IV as a break from it all. It was reassuring knowing that however rough things got I could go to another world for a few hours. Congrats on achieving your goals btw, well in ? -
When your job is to fill silence for 90 minutes twice a week you're going to say the odd thing that comes across a little funky just by chance. I don't think anyone truly believes he's a racist over a comment that innocuous.
-
As soon as he said it I thought oh dear, probably not the last we've heard of that. I really don't think he meant anything by it for whatever that's worth.
-
Totally agree regarding not having 20 players and a ‘comfy’ culture, that’s why I spoke of needing players in at CB/RB/LB/CM and new players up top and in net if superior options are available. But I definitely don’t think GK will be a priority in our summer recruitment, it’s not nearly as urgent as 3 or 4 other positions.
-
Assuming we sell Scott, and Dasilva and Kalas make contract exits (all fair assumptions) - we need to be looking at CB and LB as a top priority, but RB and CM also need attention. If options arise then we can look at Keepers and Forwards but these are less urgent. Front line is stocked ok, Bell/Mehmeti for the left, Conway/Wells for central and Cornick/Sykes for the right. Max has been performing at top half Championship level on most metrics (saw a few weeks back).
-
Ok I’ll bite. Explain.
-
Definitely staking a claim to start in the 10/Scott role next season. We’ll still need to bring in competition of course, but the way he’s going I’m so excited to see him again next year.
-
I’m hoping it was a glitch - horrid decision if not.
-
God you’re unpleasant. White men like you make white men like me realise that we really have had it too easy.
-
I’m sold on both honestly. Rate them highly. Totally agree Conway has had the better season, but Bell has brought so much as well. I believe both will be top flight players one day.
-
Not sure regarding Ayman’s injury - I know Rob Atkinson will not be available for the starts of the season but hopefully Ayman makes it. I don’t recall reading Benarous was ever considered a better prospect than Scott. I do recall murmurs that Bell was ahead of Conway in the pecking order, but Conway was faster to ‘take his chance’. Regardless all the young lads are coming good and bringing a lot to the team so it’s all gravy ?
-
He is indeed, with Mehmeti the victim of competition. Nothing to see here, someone had to miss out and we’ll be seeing plenty of Mehmeti in a City shirt. COYR ?️ Injured: Atkinson Benarous

It honestly never even occurred to me that people on here have watched Atyeo play live. Amazing really. What was he like to watch? I assume he had God status with supporters.

Alex Scott - £25m to Bournemouth- Confirmed
BCFCGav replied to SinéadB's topic in All Things Ex Players and Managers
Worth considering he himself might push for a loan back. He's been very vocal about his want for lots of minutes season on season, he might be looking at Semenyo's early Bournemouth career as a warning of what a prem move can look like. -
I saw Atkinson outside AG after the Rotherham game, Sept-Nov for him he said. So we're starting next season without him, all the more reason I think we'll be very active in the transfer market defensively. We need to be!
-
I've seen a bit of this debate on Twitter, it's Man United surely. Even if they lose the FA Cup final. Arsenal have been the better team this season, and played better football. But one trophy to nil means United have had the better season.

Heavily stocked at LB? Dasilva and Pring, one of whom is ooc in a month!
