  1. We want £250,000 according to the papers. Nice 150% profit after one season! And he’s an option if he stays. Win win.
  2. I’m using the words honours and trophies interchangeably. Obviously some are more prestigious than others, but all three of the above are legitimate competitions.
  3. I think once you're one of these 'mega clubs', Man City at this moment, Man United circa 2010, it's about staying there. If Man City went 3 seasons without a trophy now it'd feel like a lifetime, and they'd get hammered for it by rival fans. Once you're at the summit, the motivation is to not fall back down. I'm sure very trophy win still feels very special - and nerve-wracking as ever. Ha - not quite. First team honours only! The day an unders team wins the Papa John's, a small part of me will die.
  4. Which isn't massively relevant to OTIB but I thought could be an interesting off-season discussion point regardless. Between their treble win last season and their 'fourmidables' season a few years back, they have previous of going deep in multiple competitions simultaneously. Pep has been open in the fact that there isn't so much a 'priority competition' culture at the club, and more of an 'if we're in it, we want it' attitude. They've always taken the two domestic cups seriously under Pep, which has been to our detriment in both the League Cup and more recently the FA Cup. And now with their maiden Champions League stored safely in Manchester, they've qualified for the UEFA Super Cup; a tricky-but-very-winnable tie with Sevilla, and the Club World Cup where they will face clubs from South America, Africa and beyond. So, 7 honours up for grabs: Champions League Premier League FA Cup League Cup Club World Cup UEFA Super Cup Community Shield Feel free to wager a guess at how many they get. I honestly wouldn't write them off getting the lot, they're a scary proposition, but I'll go 4. Hope it's lower though.
  5. Never seen that much go into a signing off message, especially from a player who had a tumultuous end to his time with us. All the best Han. you and your massive hair will go far.
  6. Good eye, I was hoping someone had put together a who’s who. I’ve heard all these lads mentioned but Francois seems to be held in very high regard, already had a first team cameo too iirc.
  7. Safe flight lads. Dickie, McCrorie and Roberts will all be present, pros of early business.
  8. No massive change to the current system then, barring introducing an evening game.
  9. Am I understanding this right? All 10 prem games on the Sunday and all available to watch live?
  10. I hope one day we find out why he pulled out of coming back this summer. Leaves a bad taste. Best way to show him is finishing above Millwall.
  11. And McCrorie is our biggest outlay in a very long time. A good few years. We obviously really rate him as a player.
  12. As we are: Max McCrorie Dickie Naismith Pring James Scott Weimann Sykes Conway Mehmeti Subs: Bajic, Vyner, Tanner, Roberts, Williams, Wells, Bell. Just outside MD18: Wiles-Richards, Wilson, Atkinson (+), Taylor-Clarke, Benarous (+), Cornick.
  13. I think McCrorie and Tanner will have the RB spot to lose. L1 loan, SPL loan might work well for us here. There's talent there and it keeps him on the books while sparing us a portion of his wages for a year.
  14. Not at all bothered about the training wear to be honest, but they need to get the away kit right. I actually quite like the look of the home (haven’t seen one up close so can’t speak to its physical quality) and the third would be fine if it weren’t for splat. Need to nail the away kit and a lot of the bad press will dissipate.
  15. Stef Bajic on the bench for the France unders. Hope we get a proper look at him in the Cups this year.
  16. I have a feeling Coventry will go backwards. Can’t see them holding on to Hamer and Gyokeres.
  17. Bit disappointing but some easy profit to offset some of our spent money. Might not be an awful idea to insert a buy-back if Bolton are open to it?
  18. Might be the best England goal I’ve watched live (well, telly). That pass and that finish in the same move… damn.
  19. Wow - shocking decision. And his replacement has the most difficult job in football, replace a popular manager who achieved safety comfortably and as a minimum match that achievement. I bet the replacement has them bottom 3 and loses their job by February.
  20. Yea no arguments here. Dave Rennie is different gravy.
  21. Williams is tidy! Hit and miss I grant you, but a capable Championship midfielder. On his day a very good one, when he’s in ‘destroyer’ mode breaking up opposition play. And Scott’s staying because he loves us… ?
  22. We currently play with one central striker, with Conway and Wells in the building, and Bell and Cornick able to lead the line I’m not sure we’ll look at strikers. Agree 10 and keeper are worth a look, but what we have in those positions is solid enough should we be unable.
  23. Thanks for the input pal ? Some early rumours our end we’ve bid for Jason Knight - how would your profile him as a central midfielder? Does he think more forwards or backwards? And what price do you think you’d hold out for? All the best with the upcoming League 1 season. Sure you’re getting plenty of stick from rivals but it’s no secret you won’t be down there long.
  24. Interesting one. We’re pretty heavy in central midfield (James, Williams, Scott, Naismith, King, McCrorie able to play there). I wonder if this is in anticipation of Scott leaving. Or maybe we intend for him to play in the 10? I know he’s highly rated, perhaps he’s simply viewed as an improvement on what we do have. Let’s see.
