Nigel Pearson provided an injury update ahead of Saturday’s trip to the Vitality Stadium to take on Bournemouth (3pm).

The City manager told Robins TV that Alex Scott is in contention to face the Cherries this weekend after recovering from an ankle knock. However, Antoine Semenyo will remain side-lined with Pearson not putting a timeframe on the striker’s recovery from a knee injury.

“Alex will be fine,” Pearson continued, “Antoine was looking forward to his international call-up so that was a bit of a blow for him. Again, he’s a player that has made good progress in terms of how he is feeling now compared to when he first did it, so it’s a wait and see on him. But it is the knee that he had problem with earlier in the season, we’ll reserve judgement in terms of how quickly he’ll be back with us.”

Pearson also spoke about Joe Williams being back to the grass and his expected return to the midfield in the coming weeks.

“Joe is making really good progress. He has been out on the grass again, so hopefully we might see him back for the Peterborough game and if not then the week after,” said Pearson.

City will likely be without defender Tomas Kalas as he continues his recovery with Pearson adding: “Tomas is making good progress as well, but as I pointed out before it’s something that he has been aware of quite a long while so we’ll monitor that and hopefully he’ll be back soon.”

George Tanner has returned to full first team training, whilst Callum O’Dowda (knee) and Andy King (hamstring) continue their rehabilitation from their respective injuries.

Updates on all of our known injuries barring Baker, Towler and Palmer. But given the severity of Baker’s, Towler’s age and Palmer’s exile I doubt we’ll be seeing any of those three this season. We may not see Baker or Palmer pull on City red again sadly. Great news about Tanner and Scott though. Wonder if they’ll start Saturday.

Said it before, this “it all evens itself out” stuff is just bollocks.

Neither of our shouts for a penalty on Saturday were in the highlights so can’t comment on them again but no one will convince me that with 4 more given against us than any other Championship team & the lowest number awarded in our favour of all 92, we aren’t being treated differently.

Not the lowest of all 92, the lowest of all 600 in Europe’s top 30 leagues. I mean I know I keep banging that drum but… how?

1 in 18 months in the League, maybe slightly above 18 (that's calendar months not football calendar months)- dread to think how that equates in minutes!

It's a stunning statistic, it really is. Would love City to quiz the EFL on it. Add to that the West Brom's offside goal on Saturday and the refereeing in this league really does seems to beat us down. Tossers the lot of them.

Soft penalty?   Have you ever been punched solidly in yer Puss?.................it was 100 % A penalty.    Bents got it wrong, unfortunately, if it was the other way round, we would crying out for a spot kick?

Ok the angle I saw of it wasn't the best. On the other hand, I don't think we get a penalty for it. How we finish comfortably bottom for penalties awarded in a list of over 600 teams baffles me. The funny thing is, even by this shocking stat of us being 'due' a penalty every 1834 minutes... that milestone passed 3 weeks ago. EFL?!?

  5. So well deserved, he’s always brought a lot to a team but with his now prolific goal involvements (18 goals and 9 assists! Phenomenal) it must’ve been an easy call for the Austrian coach. I’m sure many of us will watch their play off with interest! Forza Andi Weimann.

  6. More games like that from Cundy and it’ll be an easier decision in the summer, looks good enough for cover at least. With Klose’s age, I think the summer might be the time to thank him for helping us see out the season to safety and parting ways. Especially with our ability to keep players fit.

Who are these successful teams may I ask

Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea all use one. Many others too but I don’t have time to do a club by club breakdown. The way I see it; look at some of the money we’ve wasted on salaries of late. One less Gustav Engvall gets us a psychologist. And if it isn’t a psychological issue @Lrrr, then I’ll hold my hands up and say experiment failed. But the cost to risk ratio means it’s surely bonkers not to try?

Behave, this isn’t a war they are coming back from Its bloody football, just like at the start of last season when we scoring goals late on it happens and that’s it ,do your bloody job which is defending

Successful teams deploy one. I’m perfectly aware football and war are different, I’m also aware that the club should do things that improve results.

  9. Think I’m all done with this season. Let me know when we’re mathematically safe someone. Also, Bristol Post, don’t say people are fit to play if they aren’t a la Alex Scott. Your source is shit and so are you. I’m not in a very good mood.

  11. I’m Pearson in still. Last season and this was about survival and we’ve done it, with (patchy) improvement on the Holden era. Attack is vastly improved, defence is of course still a big problem, but we’re safe.

It also isn’t feasible to pay up the remaining two years of his deal in our current financial state.

******* crap tonight. The only good news that can come out of it is good news on Semenyo and Scott’s injuries. Sadly I’d imagine Williams’ season is over. 11 injured players by the way. Physios sort it out.

Max is presumably still suffering from that whack he got that got him subbed v Swansea?

I guess so, but he was back on the bench last week v Brum.

Yea I admit O'Leary's injury was an assumption on my part, I haven't heard anything. I figure Max having aggravated that knock from the Swansea game more likely than it just being about giving HWR the bench experience?

Until retrospective action is taken against players continuously cheating there will always be problems. Never thought I’d say it, but sometimes feel sorry for the referee, except Keith Stroud, obviously!

I’d have Keith Stroud over Andy Davies mind. I think a Bristolian must’ve stole Davies’ wife or something.

  15. How nice is it to play a team missing key players and struggling for goals, and actually continue their woes? Especially when said team is 4th. Get in there. Forza Andi Weimann, City legend.
