So a fantastic result for Derby on Saturday, coming from behind against Fulham to win. Sadly for them Reading also won. So pretty bad for Derby overall. they remain 9 points behind Reading for 4 to play. So assuming Reading get no more points Derby need to win 3 from 4.
If Reading don't lose on Monday and Derby lose it is all over. Otherwise it rolls on to the Championship game of the season Rooney v @Mr Popodopolous!!!
Okay I have to ask. What’s up with the @Mr Popodopolous vs Derby jokes?

I wonder if it’s worth giving lots of minutes to those we hope to move on, ‘put them in the window’ and all that. Vyner and Wells spring to mind.

And breathe. A frankly rough season at times but we’re over the line and safe. Good job all, now let’s make some money in the summer. No new injuries and Tanner, King and O’Dowda are all getting there.

Don't automatically assume you're seats aren't next to each other if the numbers aren't consecutive. One of the first blocks away teams sell is on the very corner and has different amounts of seats per row.
To ensure the seat numbers in every row down the touchline and behind goals align it means in one or two blocks in the corner the numbers aren't consecutive.
Alternatively your ticket office may have had a shocker but I think you'll be fine.
Thanks bud. Looking forward to seeing Pride Park, it’ll be my first trip.

Are they now sending out tickets by post again?
That’s how I got mine, wasn’t aware it had been stopped to be honest.

Hi all, me and my pops are heading to this one for our annual ‘away day’. Our tickets arrived today and aren’t next to one another, in general is this an issue or do people tend to sit where they like when away? Also, it’s pretty unlikely to sell out given there’s nothing on it, I’d imagine it’s easy enough to just grab two seats next to each other? Thanks in advance.

Stormer of a game. Love the UCL so much.

The stats don’t lie, umpteen promotions from this level - he was an expert at it. His sides may have not played a great brand of football but it’s results and promotions that go down in history.
Exactly this. Trophies are the true barometer of football success. I would lap up the most turgid season of football ever played if it got us promoted (or better, the title).

Good work all season on this @BCFCGav.
Hopefully it will be quieter next season.
Thank you Dave. Amen to that.

Sky's match report suggested Cundy was changed through injury. I thought it was tactical, so they may be wrong. I'd anticipate seeing a return or two on Friday regardless.
Speaking of Friday, that SHOULD be the day we become mathematically safe. If we win it's guaranteed, if we draw and Barnsley fail to win it's guaranteed, and if we and Barnsley both lose it's guaranteed. Line-ups may become interesting then, it'll be a good chance to hand out starts to Benarous, Conway, Bell, maybe even the likes of Owers and Idehen. We need a result soon. Everything will feel much rosier when that happens. COYR.

Would save us having to pay his contract off. I’d rather he stayed, but if it’s he walks vs he’s sacked I’d prefer he walked.

Think that the general consensus is that we're certainly within to 2020/21 and well within to 2021/22. 4 year cycle due to Covid, profit from 2018/19 still on the books...
It's to 2022/23 where the potential issue arises. The starting point sees that profit drop off to be replaced by a loss in the Covid period (combined average of 2019/20 and 2020/21), in FFP terms a negative swing of £25-30m. (£15m FFP profit to £10-15m FFP loss. I make the latter- £14m).
Maybe a shortfall of £4-5m as it stands heading into 2022/23?
ie
1) Combined average of 2019/20 and 2020/21
2) 2021/22
3) 2022/23
Thanks mate. So we shouldn't have to pull up too many trees this summer to be ok again in the current 4 year cycle. Maybe 2 big sales and a trimming of the wage bill again.
-
Does anyone know if sales this summer will quash our FFP problems? Or have we already 'failed' a 3 year cycle and therefore can expect a points deduction/fine? As I understand it, we've time to rectify the issue but my knowledge of the intricacies of FFP pail in comparison to some of the posters on here.

With Semenyo and Weimann looking like hot property it could be useful to keep Wells around. He still has a bit to do to win me back over but I did enjoy his performance against West Brom the other week.

This is where we currently stand in terms of injuries, but as mentioned the Bristol Post seem to think we could see as many as 5 back this Saturday. But they seem to be basing that solely off players appearing in the latest Robins Uncut. I think there's a chance we see Tanner, Williams and Semenyo return to the squad but have doubts over King and O'Dowda. Whoever is back, we REALLY need a win to cheer. Let's back them to the hilt, pretty soon the season will be done and we'll all be bored again.
-
A win would see us on the cusp of mathematical safety with a month to go. Nice to banish those worries at last. Think it's a win we really need after this season!

Final stages of the Champions League produce the most enthralling and dramatic games all season imo. The worlds biggest teams scrapping for a colossal prize. Love it.

Welcome to the forum mate. Glad the ticket got used.

Best centre half at the club for me. Looks a great signing at 1.6 million.

Attack still doing well, 2 goals at the vitality. Give him another window. He know the hole we’re in financially and is the man to take us out of it. Throwing someone new into this heap won’t help. Keep the faith.

Derby v Fulham
in Football Chat
Posted
It’s a curious case a Derby. Part of me does feel for them having effectively been forced into relegation by the EFL, but they didn’t seem too upset when they were spanking opposition teams with a squad clearly beyond their means, so sod ‘em.
