"We're stuck in dark ages" even more so...
Can't argue with that. Hope none of your lot are too surprised at this news.
-
HAHAHAHAHA
The chant at the derby game "We've got our stadium" springs to mind
"We're stuck with a war memorial" would of been more apt!
-
This all sounds very familiar.
-
Just where they begin starting to sort that mess out God only knows.
I've chucked a few quid there way, the very least we can do from the comfort of our island.
-
So do they have a plan B like ourselves to redevelop the existing site or do they not have a pot to piss in and are stuck unless an enabling project goes ahead to allow the new build?
-
you can basically appeal until some one gives up thats how the courts seem to act these days
Certainly feels that way with ours eh.
-
Glad I'm not the only one, my sources are also very close to the project.
As the defendant BCC would've had to be notified first as the claimant had to first attempt to reconcile to avoid litigation.
Assuming this fails then the JR is heard before the High Court who either choose to accept it or reject it.
That's my understanding anyway.
Agree it's a delaying tactic but as we saw with AV what can appear to be the most spurious of claims can end up massively delaying a project and having huge knock on effects.
I continue to watch this one with interest
Do they get an appeal as well if the JR is rejected.....i lose track of what happened with ours. Either way, if it has gone in, i cant see them breaking ground this year.
-
I was going to say, they must of left it until the very last moment.......in true NIMBY style.

We'll undoubtedly want you to come at us, as that will suit our style of play.
We have more draws than anyone else in the division because of two reasons...
1. Poyet's patient keep-the-ball tippy-tappy approach has not been entirely effective at home when teams come and park the bus. We have mixed it up recently with some more direct stuff, but it still suits us to have opposition that have some interest in attacking us. You lot want/need to win, I imagine, so that could help us. It could lead to a very open game.
2. We've thrown away a lot of points at the death. If you're only 1 down late in the game you will still have a chance.
One final thing - we've not come from behind to win since the first game of the 2011-12 season when we beat Donny 2-1 having been behind in the very first game at the Amex. Since then we've been behind in around 35 games and we've not one any of them. If you score first you have a great chance.
Watford tried that and got beat. Our "new" style of play involves a lot of organisation and pressing to turn possesion over. Essentially the more passes you make the more chance they have of winning it.
What are you like defending set pieces? Been many years since we were a constant threat from them but certainly are at the moment.
Seems like our best chance of winning maybe the same as yours, get an early goal.

70p, wonder how much Arsenal away was back then, a whopping whole pound perhaps.....disgusting!
-
Blimey that does surprise me. Perhaps there was an offer on.
I do clearly remember my Dad chucking me a few quid and pointing me at the turnstiles. That would of been about 85-86 season when I first went regularly.
-
Not sure, what's a kiddie ticket cost these days?
True what you say though, time clouds the memories somewhat and always easy to recall the good old days.

Id have a look at SLs statement on recruitment from the OS... http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/20130109-slrecruitment-585625.aspx

Yeh, £2 or £3 through the Juv turnstile to watch the likes of Newman, Walsh, Taylor etc. Feel spoilt now!
-
No, I know - it's the "rose-tinted glasses" part.
Cool, fair enough
-
To be fair RR did say played for us against teams at this level. No denying that many of them were good enough to play higher.
-
Swap Ago for Lita? Agostino was fking dynamite!!
Exactly. Move him up front instead of Lita, then pop Jacki behind him and Cole
-
Welch
Orr Taylor Sebok Bell
Murray Tistimetanu Tinnion
Agostino
Cole Lita
Don't think I'd swap any of them for these:
Heaton
Foster Bates Fontaine Cunningham
Adomah Skuse Pearson
Anderson
Baldock Davies
Id swap Ago for Lita and put Jacki in the hole. Great looking team.

Stretching it a bit with Gerry Harrison!
We do seem to be missing a few crowd favs, but then when most of the team are playing poorely its hard to endear yourself to any of them. No pressure on our new signing but he sounds like the type who could well be added to the names you mentioned.

Bloody hell, its panic stations down at the Mem. Thats one last desperate roll of the dice if ever i saw one.
-
When i first heard the story i thought "no way" and "never going to happen" but as time goes on and the more we all chat about it, I'm getting more and more convinced that BCFC might be getting a very special Xmas present!!!

Have they not gone down the legal aid route a la AV?
