One thing I've never understood is why they need two forums, when neither is exactly blessed with traffic.

Sure one quiet forum would be more sensible than two. As it is, we have to look over two different sites to appreciate how stupid they are.

No rivalry on the pitch but there will always be a rivalry for me after growing up in the 80s and 90s, I suppose different generations will see it differently.

Exactly that for me. Totally understand why some don't see what the fuss is all about but if you were around then, the rivalry was practically bred into you.

Seen this photo a few times on Facebook, I think Dopey is getting done 'up the wrong un' by the grateful Saghead directly behind him.

Looks like a scene from The Walking Dead.

  4. World class stadium eh? So what does that actually mean? You need something like 35-40k capacity to host a Europa League final, almost certainly double that for a Champions League final and the same again for International Tournament finals.

Have a look at the technical requirements from FIFA to reach what you would call "world class". We are talking Wembley, Nou Camp, Allianz Area etc etc. Ah but hold on, they have a guy who helped balls up make Wembley, so that's where it must come from.

The argument was made possible because of the ambiguity to which I have referred in the drafting of the definition of Store Onerous Condition."

    Watertight.

Not a word you want to be associated with a legal case. Particularly if your looking for the courts to side in your favour.

Tight as an otters pocket my arse.

They should just build at the Mem, in reality how big a stadium do they need ?

Let Bristol Sport and UWE build a indoor athletics/gymnastics stadium with covers to convert for tennis/badminton on the UWE sight, would be much better use of space  (btw Bristol Gymnasts have to travel/train in Basingstoke for some of their routines as it has the closest facilities).

That IMO is as close to a realistic plan B they are going to get.

  7. The Gas I know are always harping on about being a traditional club with no aspiration to "sell out".

I suppose that instantly falls to the wayside once the possibility of a large investment comes along.

The reality is, if you want higher level football in a shiny new stadium, your going to need that investment.

  8. This bit from the evil post is intriguing:  "Even if the club was to win on appeal, they would only be awarded damages instead of the multinational being forced to buy the Memorial Stadium."  If this is the case; then regardless of the UWE's position, the project is dead in the water as of now.

High stakes game they are playing. No payout, no stadium = no future.

I say this as objectively as I can, their chairman is full of shit.  Not for the first time Rover's supporters have been lead a merry dance with regards to a stadium and finances is it?

  9. So am I getting this right in thinking that their legal team (who I presume will be paid; win or lose) said "you should go for this" and they agreed?

And if I was the person asking "isn't this just throwing good money after bad?" I'd no be very satisfied that they aren't.

Genuinely more shocked than even amused at the limp answers there; anyone else think the appeal is the current regime spoiling for time in the hope they find a buyer?  Because it sounds that way to me.

Someone should of asked "what will the financial state of the club be if the appeal is lost?".

Last roll of the dice i reckon, they are going for broke.
