  1. Apologies if this has been asked already, I’ve seen people raising the possibility of liquidation but how is this any worse than the Portsmouth scenario for example when the debt was like double or is it that the stadium sale is what might tip it over the edge?
  2. I don’t necessarily think it was dangerous driving and thought the same about Silverstone. What all sports fans ask for is consistency and that’s probably why a penalty was given yesterday. As far as I’m aware there’s nothing stopping them for taking the engine penalty at Sochi if they so wish. If Hamilton is going to need a new power unit at some point then maybe they could do that at Sochi too as he’d be in front of Verstappen but these engine penalties are farcical and punish the drivers more than the teams like when Honda engine was shit and they regularly had ridiculous penalties like 90 places or something stupid like that
  3. So Max gets a 3 place grid penalty, if red bull have any sense they’ll bring forward the change of power unit and thereby consolidate their penalties
  4. It’s been coming for years with the whole yield or we crash attitude, combine that with the red mist after the 11 second pit stop and we got what we saw, max needs to realise his car has a brake pedal for a reason What was interested was Christian Horner afterwards who sounded just like Toto did after silverstone, i don’t really want to see Max get a penalty but you also need consistency
  5. I suspect it was connected to max having a 11 second stop
  6. Very classy of max to see how the other driver was, racing incident but max needs to learn where his brake pedal is sometimes and play the long game
  7. I dare say that would’ve been the reaction when Watford fans posted on here, it’s just human nature of football fans i guess I hope now we can now move on and look to the future as the regime we’ve got now look like they could be building something
  8. I suspect it will because they did the two laps to achieve a classification and they went through with the farcical podium too, whether external pressure is applied to give refunds remains to be seen
  9. Imagine the meltdown had Lewis got pole and been gifted a race win, just seems very cynical to have a small procession behind the safety car to achieve a classification
  10. Kings clearance off the line was as good as a goal as he was the only one who anticipated it otherwise it’s 1-1 in the first half
  11. I liked how Pearson and his coaching stuff allowed the players to have their moment and then applauded them off, as others have said it really feels like we’re watching the start of something
  12. Does anyone know if Stephanie chose to take a big pay out or have it paid in instalments?
  13. But he potentially could of gained from running illegally, it’s like if you ignore the instruction to go on the weigh bridge you could be disqualified as you now can’t prove you weren’t running underweight, that’s motor racing and it would’ve been the same result had it been Hamilton’s car I actually think the 5 place grid penalty is just about right, neither Bottas or Stroll are particularly dirty drivers it was just unfortunate set of circumstances that began with the rain before the start and then making a poor start and ironically the red flag actually hurt Hamilton who’d have lost a stack of places had he pitted or not Actually the 5 cars out created the race which many are calling the race of the season, you wouldn’t have seen good news stories like a first time winner or Williams scoring points instead it probably would’ve been a Hamilton victory
  14. It’s nothing to do with Hamilton, that rule has been in place for years over multiple formulas and Hamilton himself has fallen foul of it before The rule is in place to ensure there’s no fuel irregularities which can improve performance
  15. Wouldn’t gross misconduct mean they wouldn’t owe him anything?
  16. We just seem to have lost the ‘that’s motor racing’ attitude, maybe the way it’s gone is reflecting society in general but had it been Senna and Mansell coming together at Copse on Sunday you wouldn’t have had a Ron Dennis or Frank Williams demanding a penalty or race suspension they’d have left it to the drivers to sort out Scary thing is despite being in my 40’s I’m sounding like a grumpy old man saying ‘back in my day’
  17. We need fewer penalties rather than more, we didn’t see these in the Senna Prost era for example apart from the politically motivated one at Suzuka in 1989 which gifted Prost the title and that incident played a part in what happened at the same circuit 12 months later, neither did we see them in the Schumacher Hill era which had controversial collisions such as Adelaide 1994 and silverstone 1995 Remember Senna’s famous quote, if you no longer go for a gap you’re no longer a racing driver Penalties should be serious transgressions rather than for hard racing which we’ve seen in the last two races. And for the rest let the drivers sort it out for themselves rather than doing the f1 equivalent of surrounding the referee. It’s in danger of making the racing as fake as drs is The collision Sunday has been coming for a while, Lewis having previously looked at the bigger picture and backed out couldn’t keep doing that and maybe Max will also learn from what happened although for that to happen Red Bulls management need to take off their rose tinted glasses where their driver is concerned which is unlikely given they were exactly the same when Sebastian was their driver who incidentally has grown as a person since leaving Red Bull even if his performances haven’t always matched
  18. It’s been designed with Max in mind which is why both Gasly and Albon struggled so much Anyway Karun Chandhok described the crash best, both drivers could’ve done more to avoid contact but neither did so was a racing incident but as one side obviously came off a lot worse maybe the penalty was fair. Meanwhile Christian Horner is the Arsene Wenger of F1, doesn’t see it when his driver does anything but screams for a penalty when its anyone else
  19. The cars have outgrown the track the problem is the whole prestige of Monaco means we’re probably stuck with it
  20. Isn’t that the river frome backing onto that stand that burnt down? Would surely have prevented any redevelopment, that and an insistence that others paid for it
  21. At the end of the day it’s just banter and if you can’t take it you shouldn’t give it and city fans of a certain age took it for years. Some of it occasionally gets a little childish but that’s on both sides like the whole bottle of champagne for Colin Daniel and then Windass being invited to their social in return but on the whole it’s good natured banter on both sides that fills a void during the international break
  22. Then we lost the rearranged game 2-0, beadle scored a screamer if i remember rightly
  23. What’s even more insane is the player that caught it is already facing 4 months out injured so shouldn’t have been there Its Celtic them and Rangers think they’re in charge of Scottish football
