  1. I think he’s been decent, clearly up for it playing against his old team and is benefiting from having Semenyo up there as well
  2. Didn’t we lose at home to Bolton to a first minute goal in the mid 90’s?
  3. The problem isn’t parachute payments in isolation, it’s being magnified by ffp which then creates a double whammy effectively removing a clubs ability of keeping up with those relegated clubs and that then creates a derby scenario where a owner will try and use more creative ways to try and make up the shortfall and we all know how that turned out. Its naive of the efl to think that the problem is entirely of the premier leagues making. They could either amend the ffp rules for those who aren’t receiving parachute payments to even up the playing field or they could introduce a rugby style salary cap or they can continue what they’re doing it the moment is moaning about it and not much else What’s interesting is fans seem to view ffp breaches as cheating but grudgingly accept parachute payments when they’re basically the same thing
  4. He was the main man when i got into F1 with what seemed a conveyer belt of top drivers like Mansell, Prost, Senna (rip), Hill and Villeneuve. What he achieved whilst already impressive was all the more remarkable given the injuries he received in his 1986 car crash that perhaps should’ve taken his life and left him in a wheelchair. Feels like the end of an era in some ways even if the F1 world has moved on
  5. I’m more worried it could well be his second concussion in the space of a month, at the end of the day football is just a game his health is so much more important
  6. Surprising as his teams always tend to start slowly before clicking into gear
  7. For all those who complained about the sky commentary tonight they did comment on how fantastic the fans were towards the end
  8. Asking for consistency isn’t moaning though He did end up on the dirty side which screwed him, the penalty also put max on the clean side
  9. Could be I’m seeing something that isn’t there but i wonder if there was a psychological advantage reversing the end we normally attack second half yesterday. Having our fans behind us seemed to help us not retreating like we’ve done so many times at home lately Obviously there is the existing argument of having home fans behind both goals but as a stop gap is it worth us trying to attack the Atyeo end second half more often?
  10. Personally i don’t think it’s a penalty but i didn’t think Norris was a penalty in Austria or others. Now they need to be consistent not change things just because there’s a championship at stake. Hopefully they can start 2022 with fewer penalties and let the drivers sort things out between them which could make things interesting
  11. For anyone interested, i believe in miracles has dropped on Netflix and tells the story of how he took forest from the second division to European champions. Is well worth a watch
  12. Frank Williams always used to prioritise the constructors
  13. With the constructors championship being quite close it’ll be interesting to see how far they’re willing to go and which championship they’ll prioritise. The constructors one is where most from the prize money comes from after all
  14. I know what you mean would it have had anything to do with multi21? As he’s matured as a person i really like him now as well as respect what he’s achieved so wouldn’t necessarily say it’s particularly red bull related
  15. There is certainly an element of that and his standpoint on blm does make a certain proportion of the population uncomfortable. I won’t go any further as that subject has been done to death. There is also a certain amount of Hamilton winning fatigue which has nothing to do with his race, we had it when Schumacher was winning every week and winning the title every season and watching became pretty boring and to a lesser extent that was the case when Vettel was doing the same. I’m sure the German fans enjoyed it a little more though
  16. I actually wouldn’t have given him a penalty yesterday but would’ve made him give the place back
  17. Saw on Facebook that all tickets were £5 dunno whether that’s true or not
  18. I’ve heard it reported that Clough used alcohol to deal with his experience of being at Hillsborough, which makes sense as it was only after that things started coming off the rails
  19. That was a really enjoyable watch bodes well for an enjoyable race tomorrow I know it’s just very unfortunate timing, fortunately Lewis’ comeback drive in the sprint looks like the penalty isn’t going to be the deciding factor which is what nobody wants. Imagine the uproar if for example Max had to change his power unit at Abu Dhabi
  20. It seems potentially the title has been decided in the stewards room. Is something of an anti climax. F1 has this unique ability to shoot itself in the foot Obviously it’s not over till the fat lady sings but Lewis now effectively needs Max to have a dnf to have a chance which could happen but is probably unlikely
  21. Maybe it’s simply weighed up by a need to work or fear of being out of the game
  22. Going to Norwich with Smith apparently
  23. Early kick off on a Sunday so rules out travelling by train, am surprised it’s that many..
  24. Osman did have no money to spend and we did beat Liverpool under him so does need to be put in context
  25. Yes i know this is a random point, i was out waking along the Thames path last Saturday and passed the doubletree hotel at Canary Wharf just as Derby’s squad were preparing to leave. Now if their financial position is to be believed would they be paying to stay in a relatively expensive hotel rather than just a couple of hours on the coach to save money?
