I might have been a bit harsh here and I'll give some alternative KPIs.

    1. Over the final 9 games I want to see:

    1.a. an average of 13 shots per game (current average is 11.5);

1.b. an average of 4 shots on target per game (current average is 3.6); and

1.c. average xG from open play of 0.9 per game (current average is 0.71)

    2. Name a full subs bench in every game. The season's done in terms of competition, so let's blood some youngsters.

    3. Let's target 3 clean sheets in the final 9 games.

As I say, this season is gone, done, all but finished, so let's focus on improving and finishing on an upward trajectory. That will lay good groundwork for whoever is in charge in 2024/25.

Xg is fine to quote but what isn't represented is Quality of shot.

Amazed that anyone would take playing like we did today just to get 16 home wins. More to life than watching god awful football

First time I've ever been shouting at the phone e in favour of IG. Just answer the question Neil !!!!! It's a hypothetical would you happy watching 16 games of dull turgid football and accept a 1-0 win each time.

    No context needed.

    I'm with Ian, no I wouldn't watch it .

Take your point, but as I have pointed out twice now, he has stated it quite clearly as something that he is "BIG" on "a core of senior players". To me that means more than Rob and Zac, and I can't see him keeping many of the current older lot unless he has to. Ergo, who comes in, from what level and what blend will we be left with?

    Unless he was lying.

Fans are fickle, they are easy to lose and win, win 10 on the trot a d most will be happy,

I wouldnt read too much into it at the moment

No, they're not. Most are pretty astute.

You serve up drivel like that 10 times out of 10, even winning each game 1-0 you won't have many fans turning up by game 11.

How can you call City fans fickle after decades of under achievement. At least 14,000 City fans turned up yesterday to endure that dire performance.

A player signed for a manager that definitely wouldn’t have wanted him if he wasn’t already in the door, and in no way fits the style of CM he wants to have.

    £1.7m all in, wasn’t it?

    Brilliant stuff.

Wasn't it an option to buy, which means Manning must have given the deal the green light. I was surprised the deal was done hastily in Jan. Never worth 1.75 million imo.

There is something (and potentially nothing) that was notable in Liams pre match presser. The number of times he said “Brian”.

Those of us who have worked in office environments know in meetings that staff under pressure tend to reference their superiors a lot. It’s a way of tying their fortunes to their bosses, and trying to spread the blame/ make it more difficult to them to be dismissed.

I’m not saying he will be sacked. But the “tells” in interviews mean I wouldn’t rule it out, irrespective of today’s result. Steve L also being in attendance at a half empty AG won’t also have helped his case.

The bottom line is that if Tinnion sacks him this season he can retain some credibility (wye aye, we saw it wasn’t working and wanted to act quickly) but a sacking in October finishes him as well.

I think for all those reasons it may be closer than you think and beatings by both WBA and Leicester may well lead to the trigger being pulled.

Spooky that Tinnion came out and did an interview last week and SL shows up today. Vote of confidence ? Or here to pave the way for sacking.

So it was a poor crowd today ( Mother’s Day rather than fans staying away maybe). Poor performance but 3 points closer to safety. Give Manning a chance, let him see out the season and have a dozen games next season, hopefully after a decent transfer window.

Yes we have had some clowns managing us in the last 5 or 6 years, Pearson being the exception, but as difficult as it is to be patient we must give Manning a good run, especially as people have been on his back since Pearsons unwanted departure.

    Realistically what’s the alternative ?

    Realistically what's the alternative?

What about sack now, save a wasted summer and dozen wasted games at the start of next season.

Too many people hoping for the worst just to prove a point.

How many players did Pearson Holden Johnson sign?

You asked the question " doesn't he get the chance with his own players.?"

Why are you bringing up past managers ?

They missed the target because O'Leary was so well positioned they didn't have much to aim at?  Do you count it when we miss too?

So why didn't they hit O Leary instead of firing 10 yards over the crossbar ?

Doesn’t he get a chance with his own players not NPs choices, and ex players?

    No, it wasn't his remit.

How many of 'his' players do you anticipate. A whole team / squad ?

    Just one or two ?

Please enlighten us to how many he needs of his players he needs to have us playing his way...whatever that is.

Because that’s my opinion. He needs a summer to bring in some of his own players etc. He’s trying to build something. I don’t expect you to agree with me and that’s fine.

Thought he was brought in to improve what we had. Not re build it.

Disagree - Birmingham remain the most complete away performance I've seen this season alongside Leeds.

I can appreciate when opposition play well. Both were examples of being too good for us.

Plus Naaki Wells missed a sitter late on to make it 1-1 and a possible draw.

Other than the obvious (Manning is clueless) why on earth are we playing a 4-4-2 formation with Knight often the most forward player?

If we are playing 2 upfront how about playing 2 players who are actual strikers? You never know they might play off each other as a combination like they have successfully in the past…

    Doing my head in!!

It's part of the plan. Hasn't worked since QPR away, but still persisting with it. Not Mannings fault it doesn't work.

After listening to the presser I said he’d be back. Could tell that Manning was telling fibs.

Why tell fibs. The presser is for the benefit of fans.

He isn't Glenn Hoddle trying to mis lead the press re International line ups.

Can't imagine Swansea will be shaking in their boots if they know Twine is going to be in the squad today.
