Oxford players only ever got 3 days off during an international break when Manning was there. Expect it’ll be the same here.
Did anyone ever look to see what our results were like after international breaks under Pearson? I don’t ever remember them being that bad whereas under Lee Johnson we seemed to lose every time.
The last one we beat Coventry with "de conditioned players "

Don't worry we've got Leicester next.

It’s all relative though - Arsenal are expected to achieve those things. We aren’t - thus, in my view, it would be more satisfying to support a club like ours with everything to achieve than support a club where - given the invincibles season - that’s probably as good as it’ll ever be.
Saying that though, generally winning must be fun. Regardless of 2016, I imagine supporting Leicester this season is fun.
Surely for us '76-'80 was as good as its ever going to get.

Amazing what can happen if you just run around like a duracell bunny, waving your arms about.
See you in the Prem.

Im not sure if this includes the cup games, where im sure we can all agree, we gave everything we reasonably could have done, and the place was rocking.
the way we are set up is abysmal now though. Losing twine has been a massive blow, if he comes back and we start to look better i will have some sympathy for manning, we knew we were missing that creative player and he tried to get the best we realistically could have gone for,,, a physical striker that should have come in January, or even better last summer but wasnt signed, The striker should have taken precedence over anything else, i can only assume the lansdowns werent looking to spend what was needed.
Why is losing Twine a massive blow. We have no idea what his impact would or would not be. Played one full game. Hardly enough to suggest that it is a massive blow.
Perhaps if Manning played Knight in his natural position with Conway as a 10 we may not have needed Twine in the first place.
I accept long term we need more creativity, but why not try and use the players we already have (mehmeti has played 10, so has Sykes, i think) and coaching them to be better.

Inspired by your stats Dave I've come up with my own boredness stats.
0 = highly entertained
10 = watching grass grow is more fun
QPR (a) 10
Boro (h) 4
Southampton (a) 6
Norwich 7.5
Huddersfield 8
Blackburn 7.5
Sunderland (h) 5
Hull 3
Watford 1
Birmingham 9
Millwall 8.5
Preston 8.5
Watford (h) 7
Coventry 4
Leeds 9
Boro (a) 2.5
Southampton 0
QPR (h) 9.5
Sheff W 9.5
Cardiff 9
Ipswich 5
Swansea 9
West Brom 9
Gives an average of 6.5
Sorry but Millwall H has to be a 10. Most boring game I have ever witnessed.

We are bored aren’t we?
since Watford (a), the halcyon day (days???) of Manningball, we can see the decline in our attacking play.
If you look at Build-up (*) attacks, Direct (**) attacks as opposed to other open play attacks from shorter possession phases or set-pieces, we are more effective when we press! Yet we don’t attempt that, preferring a block more often than not. Maybe Krause should stop looking at our opponents and look at ourselves!
QPR is the only game where Manning’s approach resulted in more than 2 build-up attacks, 6 in total. And total open play xg was 0.43!!!
The decline in quality of open play chances is also evident.
Just three times in 14 games have we achieved a match xg of 1.00 from open play in a match. Some real lowlights in there too!
Then compare to what’s happening at the other end!
I don’t think any of us really need a set of numbers to confirm this, we are seeing it with our eyes. But there is no hiding from the fact we are regressing. Do we need more evidence?
sorry, was bored watching Man Utd v Liverpool, although not anymore!!!
+++++
* Build-up attacks - The number of open play sequences that contains 10 or more passes and either ends in a shot or has at least one touch in the box.
** Direct attacks - The number of open play sequences that starts just inside the team's own half and has at least 50% of movement towards the opposition's goal and ends in a shot or a touch in the opposition box.
Wondered why you weren't watching Liverpool. Bet you don't post here for the next 45 mins !!

He was revising history re Nige again yesterday.
I think they all did at one time or other in this episode. Still, after all that has gone on, none of them 'get it.'

Beginning to wish the Frank Lampard rumours had been true. Really couldn't have been worse and unlikely to have drastically changed the way we play.

I understand season ticket holders in the south stand renewing as if they don’t before the deadline they won’t be able to get a season ticket in that stand.
hopefully they renew on the last day.
Won't be a problem in League one, 12 months time.

Don't renew your season ticket until they are dismissed.
No-one will take your seat, as I'm pretty sure there won't be a queue to watch another year of this rubbish!
Make SL take notice.
The only way he will be forced to act is if people DO NOT RENEW until those two are sacked.
I guarantee you if only 4-5000 people renew in the first month after tix go on sale, SL will show both of them the door.
What's it come to - we used to gather in the players car park and surround the staff entrance, vent our feelings and force all of them to listen. Chanted at matches for change. The paper and radio would be swamped.
I get that times change - so apparently the only thing Stephen Lansdown will react to is a hit to his back pocket.
So don't renew.
Two ST 's not being renewed here for that reason.
I would add to that anyone that does renew, do it on the last possible day. Keep the money in your own account as long as possible.

Sums up the issue. Who is the real manager? It’s 2004 all over again. Both must go, but Tinnion being in that role means whoever we appoint will not be the required level. If you really loved this club of 30 years as you say Brian please step down and the fans will again show our respect for your playing career.
Makes you wonder, if we had lost to Swansea and SL pulled the trigger on Manning. All the promo material and posters for ST renewals had been prepared and ready to go public a few days later. Rather embarrassing with Manning and Tinnion so prominent. Probably not connected but certainly would have come in to any imminent sacking decision.

Pointless singing about Nige tbh. If it doesn’t change soon then “Liam Manning, your football is shit” would send a clear message to Tinnion.

Tinnion first. Manning in the autumn. Already decided not to buy season tickets next season.
Will gladly buy a half season ticket in November if both are nowhere near this club.

Come on Rooney didn't get any good results-manning has had loads! The only similarity with Rooney is that the fans didnt give him a chance because they don't want the previous manager sacked!
Loads is a bit ott. 4, may be. Watford, West Ham x2 and a team on the south coast.
The others have been dull run of the mill Championship wins, and there haven't been many of them.

OK, let’s have your predictions for our final eight games, my (optimistic thoughts) are below. If I’m right we will pick up eight more points and finish with 55 points (four less than last season.)
Home
Leicester L
Blackburn D
Huddersfield W
Rotherham W
Away
Plymouth D
Sunderland L
Norwich L
Stoke L
Imagine being in the top 8/10 with those fixtures. We'd all be expecting to sneak in to 6th place.
-
Blackburn haven't won for ages, so that's a guaranteed home defeat.

I didn’t mention earlier but the first half was so tedious that the fans spent virtually all of it taking the mickey out of a WBA fan (“Sit down in the family stand” “tracksuits from matalan” etc), and the Albion fans were pretty much silent.
Having listened to Liams interview he seems to have really liked that first half.
I can only assume he absolutely ****ing hates football.
5 Live reporter, called the game 'anaemic' after 25 mins.
