    Really?

313 - Bristol Rovers fans at Hartlepool United (273 miles Sat)
430 - Bristol City fans at Middlesbrough (263 miles Sat)

1,051 -  Bristol Rovers fans at Exeter City (80 miles Sat)
2,100 - Bristol City fans at Reading (77 miles Tues)

I don’t think we would take any more than 400 to Hartlepool if we ever went down to league two .

Also they sold out Exeter away , the away team are given a max of just over 1000 Tickets after Segregation.

Difference has between the 2 clubs is clear they **** on about how great there away support is whilst we argue between ourselves wether our away support is shit or just ok!
when our away support is miles better than theirs!

Our home support is miles better than theirs but there really isn’t a lot of difference in terms of away support .

So our away support is “shite” because we take more to a League Cup Semi Final at the Etihad than we do to grounds we play at every season in the League. What a bizarre argument, in that case everyone’s away support is shite. ?

I give up , our away support is shite and I was saying it’s funny how we can sell 8000 away at Man City ( which we would of done if it was the first round and not semis ) and then struggle to sell 900 at Bradford for a promotion game in one of the clubs best ever seasons .

We’re Swindon, Oldham and Bradford in the Premier League as recently as 2 years ago?

Wednesday and Forest are huge clubs no matter what division they’re in.

I shouldn’t have to explain this to an adult.

Ok so Brentford are a bigger club than Middlesbrough, Cardiff and Swansea then .

You’re comparing it to the semi finals of the League Cup against one of the best teams in Europe at a ground we’ve never visited before and may never visit again....ok

Yes,  our away support is shite because a lot of people only come out to watch us play prem teams . You don’t see those same fans away at millwall , Middlesbrough or blackburn.

  6. 3 minutes ago, Peter O Hanraha-hanrahan said:

    Bigger club compared to most?

Forest, Derby, Sheffield Utd, Boro, Birmingham City, Coventry, West Brom, Stoke, Fulham are all bigger clubs. You could argue that Huddersfield, Blackburn are as well. We’re not ‘bigger’ than QPR, Swansea, Cardiff, Preston, Hull, Barnsley and Millwall. Bournemouth have recent Premier League history.

What does that leave us with?

So Swindon , Oldham and Bradford are bigger than city by that logic , also Bournemouth are bigger than Wednesday and forest  because they have been in the top flight more recently ??

We'll be sixth or seventh in the home attendances. No one near that in away attendances.

We are a bigger club compared to most currently at this level and for that, our away support is shite.

Exactly the point I’m trying to get across , for a team that averaged over 20,000 pre Covid our away support is embarrassing. People ramble on about our location but Plymouth manage ok and Sunderland Middlesbrough Norwich and Ipswich.

Haha, you didn’t hurt my feelings, I just never understand why so many City fans feel the need to slate our relatively average away support at every opportunity? ?
If consistently averaging 1100-1300 every season away despite the miles we have to travel compared to many other teams in the Championship is “pretty bad” in your opinion then fair enough....I just think you’re a bit deluded in your expectations.

I think we do ok, nothing spectacular but like I say, we don’t benefit from some of the advantages that other clubs have that I mentioned in my previous post.

So most clubs would sell out a midweek 10 hour round trip just because you say so? Ok, cheers.

Yes for a promotion game most would , we had no problem selling out Man City away even though we had less chance of winning than we did at Bradford but as usual our supporters only show up when we play a prem team .

Presuming you mean league clubs in this, I would argue that 47 of the football league clubs (over 50%, therefore 'most') wouldn't sell out a 10 hour round trip on a weeknight, even if it was a game where their club could clinch promotion.

Not saying our away support is good, we all know that North of Birmingham we often struggle to take decent numbers, but I'm not sure you can use a 10 hour round trip on a weeknight, where we still took 900, as a barometer by which to measure it

I still think most would tbh , I just don’t think we can mock away support even if it is the scum when ours is pretty bad tbh . We may sell ok at Birmingham but even places in the midlands like wolves we really struggle for numbers , millwall for example we only took 600ish and it’s one of our closer games .

  10. 3 minutes ago, Peter O Hanraha-hanrahan said:

Really, based on what? What their fans say on Social Media? ?

I think you mean ‘some’ clubs “no matter what“ would’ve sold out...not most.

Yes believe it or not most clubs would sell out a promotion game midweek or not . You can be a city fan and still understand our away support is pretty bad . Sorry if I hurt your feelings .

TBF it was MID WEEK, had it been the Saturday we'd have sold out no probs ! I thought nearly 1000 was ok, so don't be a sag apologist ,please !

Not being an apologist just being a realist , most clubs no matter what league they are in would of sold it out .

We are poor once past the Midlands to be honest unless it's a big game.

The Bradford game was midweek to be fair, luckily I just 'happened' to be staying in Leeds that night with work. One of the benefits of sorting your own calendar. ;) Check what needs visiting, check City fixtures etc etc.

Yeh fair play to anyone who travels that far on a weekday , I don’t think our away attendances up north will change much until we ever get to the prem and build a more of a football culture in the city . Too many people in Bristol would rather stay at home and watch the likes of Liverpool than travel and watch city

We can seeing we don’t brag about our magnificent away support do we that’s the point! We have average away support for our division and we try make out its anything but average!
Whereas these whoopers think they are gods gift to away fans!

Agreed but if they do end up taking more than the 393 it just shows how poor we can be past the midlands

  14. To be fair the Game we got promoted at Bradford we only took about 900 when most clubs would of sold it out for a promotion game and the season before that we only took 393 up there so we can’t really take the piss considering we were a league higher .

Some of the extreme woke have arrived.

They will utter white privilege .. Hiss it.

It’s in the eyes ... You can see their madness.

They have been radicalised by the books of critical race theory.

    Telling everybody what they are.

    What you must believe.

Don’t do that and even don’t wear that cos its cultural appropriation.

    Putting you in their boxes,

    Society is systemically racist.

All white people are racist and have privilege.

    Black people can’t be racist.

Prejudice from people of colour to POC is colourism not racism.

Your white kids are racist at birth.

    History should be decolonised.

Whites have to atone for their history.

To disagree out comes the you’re a racist card .. A fave on the politics forum of the cult of woke.

    These people are batshit crazy.

Some can be saved but some are too far gone now.

If a far gone one approaches you identify as black lgbtq+ Eskimo its the top trump (steady) identity card and cannot get be merked yet.

    Stay safe out there.

It’s the same 4 or 5 accounts that literally turn every thread into a woke political thread too. This forums rarely ever about football now and more about certain posters telling users of this forum how privileged they are ( even though a lot are from working class backgrounds) . You can guarantee the ones spouting woke comments are from upper middle class backgrounds and have no clue what being working class and white is like .

  17. Going all the way up to Leeds a couple of years ago when we lost 2-0 , brownhill got sent off and the only shot remember us having was one from adelukan which went out for a throw .

It wasn’t the worst in terms of score line but definitely one of the most boring I’ve ever seen from us

I will waste time as I know the individual in the article. He is not a fiend, he is an acquaintance. I think its fair to defend these people and as an acquaintance I can spot an obvious flaw in the posters argument.

A fact as Mr Rees observes here -  Mayor met 'Football Lads' protest organisers 'to hold the city together' - Bristol Live (bristolpost.co.uk) The organiser. His wife is black.

People in the groups at the Cenotaph were Black and Asian. How can a group of White, Black and Asian men be using a slogan in All Lives Matter that is undeniably racist?

    Yeh I agree with you

  19. 54 minutes ago, Cowshed said:

You are being picked up on what you have said. Yes it was on a placard in BS1. Bought by a group who were mixed race. And the text displayed further context - Not Far Right/All races.

How in your own words does the above = Your it was undeniably a racist slogan?

Your fact in the last line. What did Andy Bennett call the group at the Cenotaph? What was being implied? Did he lie? Why call them any wing?

I wouldn’t waste your time arguing with this guy , he’s one of the ones on this forum that find something to be offended by in anything . I know a few people who read the forum but won’t sign up as they think if they say the slightest thing a few people on here will cause a ? storm.

How do the CSF and other firms, who inflict violence and injury to one another, feel about using the NHS, hospitals, doctors, ambulances, police etc to mop up the self inflicted injuries? Do they think it's reasonable to be looked after, and use up the time of the services ahead of the general public who haven't gone looking for violence?

Imo...if you go looking for it, don't expect others to mop up your injuries. Sort yourself out.

You could use the same argument for people who get lung cancer after smoking or people who get ill after having a poor diet for years

Christ.. the words ‘’snow’’ and ‘’flake’’ instantly spring to mind whilst reading your post sorry to say ?

Some of them on this forum wouldn’t look out of place on netmums.com tbh it’s quite funny seeing them bite over issues that obviously don’t concern them if they just show up to watch the football then they won’t be affected
