Sorry, the singing section cannot be moved behind the goal, nor could it have been planned there in the first place!

People standing in a certain block next to people sitting in other blocks totally destroys their view. A large proportion of the pitch is lost and cannot be seen. The old East end worked because everyone was stood!

Not only that but what about current season ticket holders behind the goal?

Having the singing section in the corner doesn't seem to dampen the atmosphere at Crystal Palace does it?

Palace almost have that whole end behind the goal not just a poxy little corner like at Ashton gate

Looks less than 200 left now across the home areas of the stadium to me just a few odd seats dotted around top tier less than 10 in most blocks and all blocks on sell and around 7/8 seats in corner of SS and lower wing of LS. Looking like 24/25k by the weekend.

That’s good tbh , have they released all the seats in the top tier of the lansdown as I know before they released small groups of seats at different times .

Decent following which is why I'm surprised they haven't sold out yet for their first away game back in the championship

Personally can't stand their supporters, they're up their own arses like Leeds and Villa supporters, they believe their own hype

(Ps cracking username if you have named it after the song?)

Fair play to them I wish our fans had half of their ambition and passion

Making up spontaneous chants and singing is what the section should concentrate on - sound creates atmosphere and banners and signs don’t. They’re  useless and completely pointless

That corner is the only reason Ashton gate isn’t an absolute morgue. Without it Ashton gate would be another stadium mk in terms of atmosphere so they don’t need to concentrate on singing anymore than they do already.

Our support moaned about the lack of atm in the Atyeo not too long ago, I'm sure it wouldn't take long for some to start complaining the acoustics are better in the Lansdown stand if away fans went there

That’s because our fans only had a small portion of the atyeo not an end behind the goal like the away end is now . Atmosphere will never be good at the gate until we have an unreserved end behind the goal like most other clubs do .

    Minimum £15m.

For maybe 2k extra seats ?

You’re right but it’s not just the extra seats it’s basically finishing the stadium and having a stand that doesn’t look really out of place compared to the rest

    Not that easy.

The Atyeo stand is not now symmetrical with the pitch. To fill in the end at the Dolman side would mean a realignment of the Atyeo stand.

I meant if they knocked the atyeo down and started from scratch

How come? How would you get more seats into the same height stand, without a lower rake? What advances in engineering would overcome that?

Plenty of room between the atyeo and the lansdown/Dolman which would have seats added if it was joined like the south stand

Presumably with the addition of many plastics. Other than the novelty of a first season there is nothing to suggest we could maintain a crowd if 26k. We celebrate the sale of 14k season tickets. It hurts me to say it but for a City the size of Bristol that's pathetic. Cities and towns much smaller than Bristol support sides with consistently larger support than ourselves. We have a really large catchment area compared to many. It's not as if we we sit in the shadow of much larger clubs as they do in London, the Midlands or in North West England.

You are right in what you say about our support being poor for a team in a city like Bristol but with prem football it would increase massively , even if it was for a few years it would create a whole new generation of city followers

SL has said that “it” (the Atyeo stand) won’t be increased in size due to the cost of buying the houses and lack of need. A 27k capacity is perfectly ok in the Championship and, if City reach the Premier League, it would only be a sell out when the bigger teams visit. The big money comes from the Premier League and TV

I don’t believe that , we’d sell out every game in the prem other than maybe Bournemouth.

But when you see the prices for the theatre or any gig involving a half decent artist the prices seem almost reasonable, the thing is you either pay them or end up not doing anything and cutting your nose off to spite your face, I know some genuinely are being priced out which is a shame but the club obviously think they can get away with charging the prices they do.

Yeh I agree with what your saying but surely if the prices were a little cheaper we could have a couple or a few thousand more through the turnstiles spending more on drinks and food which would give us the same revenue or an even higher one . Wouldn’t we rather see less empty seats making the same revenue?.
