I think that when the rest of us stop buying container loads of goods from China every year we can maybe start criticising FGR for this. In principle, I agree with the sentiment Rob; I try very hard to avoid buying stuff made in China but it’s pretty near impossible even when you try, and I suspect most people don’t give two hoots.

And, incidentally, doesn’t just about every Tesla come from China?

Your right about buying from china but we certainly don’t make it easy for ourselves to make it cheaper here . Another example going slightly off context is it’s cheaper for the company I work for to send our waste to china than it is to send it 5 miles down the road to a local company .

This looks looks like a cut and paste from the Gas forum. Shame on you.

I agree about non league. If you want to go down quite a few divisions you get a good experience with the farmy army at Bristol Manor Farm. Absolutely no bad behaviour on the train to and from Sea Mills station

?? our fans are generally more soft and less likely to start trouble than other fans , I guess people like you need something to moan about so we’ll just say we have loads of hooligans at city shall we ?‍♂️

Bit rich from Barca ultras who don't bother turning up for most La Liga games. They didn't care about the Europa League until they got to the knock out stages and now they cry when a club that they knew weeks in advance were bringing 30k take over their stadium.

I went to Camp Nou in 2018 for a La Liga match and was surrounded by football tourists. Very disappointing experience tbh. Look at the atmosphere at Atleti the other night, proper club.

The end of that game was crazy, fans going absolutely nuts even when they knew it was over .

It isn’t just football , it’s booze and coke and it’s only to get worse

Was sat in the South Stand last game when a guy came in with two boys aged about 8. Never seen them before but the language was terrible. When Semenyo was warming up one of the boys says to Dad, " They're gonna take f*ckin Wells off Dad". "Probably yes, and stop swearing" he replied.

Can understand going against drug use and fighting but swearing at football is nothing to moan about .

Every club has them but we unfortunately have more than most. Embarrassing. I do always have a chuckle to myself though when I see the old ‘top boys’ decked out in stone island gear trying to re live ‘the glory years’.

You made some good points but what you said here simply isn’t true. I’ve done ground hopping for years and our fans are generally some of the most well behaved going ,especially out of all the championship clubs I’d say only Fulham are more well behaved.

What do you think? Outside the ground it feels like Bristol City, inside the ground nah feels odd. The atmosphere, the shapes, the structures, the brightness of the lights, not an enjoyable place to be in the main imo

You haven’t even mentioned the club shop , without a doubt the weirdest and smallest in the country . I took a friend to a game and we went in and he thought I was joking it was a club shop and thought it was just a room that sold all different kinds of sport merchandise.

I agree that primarily it is mismanagement but I think Bristol is a significantly different place to the ones you listed. And that there are socio-economic/cultural factors here which are a little more difficult to navigate in terms of establishing a successful football team than many places.

I know the point you’ve made has been said a lot but I just don’t buy it. Pre covid we were getting crowds of 20,000 plus each game which is amazing considering this club has had no success whatsoever. Bristol as a place has much more of a football culture than Brighton for example who have managed it , funnily enough I have a few friends that are lifelong Brighton fans and their astonished that they are there and city aren’t .

It’s related to poor football decisions but also economical, geographical and political in my opinion. The passiveness has only increased with the new stadium and the modernisation. Football in Bristol is a nice day out. In the north rarely do they care for award winning concourses and posh pasties but that their football team performs well. That attitude has just never been as prevalent in the affluent south and it reflects in its football teams. Bristol is the finest example.

What about Southampton, Portsmouth, brighton and Bournemouth? All southern clubs that have had success. I’d say it’s down to poor ownership over the years rather than location
