  1. I typed in ‘Cornick’ on Twitter and scrolled down. Apologies, but not sure how to attach the link. Tech is not my strong point. It wasn’t a rumour account, just a Luton fan replying to a Richard forester tweet.
  2. A Luton fan on Twitter seems to think Cornick is having a medical with us this morning.
  3. I think signing both is a real possibility. 4-3-3 seems to suit us perfectly, and our wide options are minimal in the sense that we only really have Sykes and Bell (striker). Cornick/Sykes would cover the right side, whereas Mehmeti/Bell are then options for the left. Conway, Weimann, Wells as central options. This would give us a wide range of options.
  4. Worth noting that Wycombe signed Chem Campbell (Wolves) on loan today, so they already have a replacement.
  5. I just sat up ridiculously fast after reading that! What an incredible signing this would be. I thought he was brilliant against us in the cup fixture earlier this season. Mehmeti and Cornick? It certainly outlines the way that Pearson wants us to play. From an attacking stand-point, we could be thoroughly entertained.
  6. This is the one I was most hopeful for, ahead of the deadline. So this sounds very promising. We must maintain the competition for places amongst the forward line, and adding Cornick will continue to set those high standards. He will also add flexibility to formations with his ability to play centrally or out wide.
  7. The statement is very brief for a player we are highly unlikely to ever see again.
  8. Nice TV match for us….. obviously we all want to be there though!!
  9. I enjoyed watching Scott after the game today. He ran over to congratulate Bell, and then shared a moment with Francois. The lad has everything in regards to technical ability, that much we already knew. But it’s his role as a leader that is equally as impressive. He is like a seasoned professional at such a young age, a quality that few have at such an early stage of their career. Bellingham looks to have the same traits, as did Gerrard when he burst into the scene many years ago. Those characteristics are what can set players apart. He is heading to the very top of the game.
  10. Every now and again when I see the LJ thread appear, I ask myself the one real important question….. What on earth happened to that 100000 inch TV screen he was so desperate for? He copied the idea from a German club (Hoffenheim?) and begged SL for it. There’s no way Nige is using that thing in training. I bet it cost a fortune! We really did throw money at anything at that time.
  11. Pearson giving nothing away in his Radio Bristol interview over potential incomings. - He states that it all depends on the individuals that we want being available. - He highlights that we are light on the ground, in regards to numbers. - When pressed for specific number of signings wanted, Pearson says that there are a number of ongoing situations, so we will have to wait and see what happens.
  12. If anyone needed any reminding… What an incredible group of young talent we have! Buzzing for Sam and Alex, thoroughly deserved.
  13. It will be interesting to hear Nige’s comments after todays game. Should help to clear things up.
  14. I would take a guess that it will be a 5 or 6pm announcement, with Cornick to follow.
  15. He would also fit the ‘maverick’ description that Nige spoke of. Ability to win a game on his own. This would be a shrewd signing. One I think we would have looked to have made in the summer anyway.
  16. I’d be delighted with this. Cornick is a player I really like. A very intelligent player, good movement and can chip in with goals. Similiar to Weimann in some ways, but with a low centre of gravity. Keeps the ball very close to his feet when dribbling (like Scott), which allows him to shift balance easily.
  17. The big question now is… Does the club wait until giving this the final sign-off until we have a player ready to sign? A bit like what we saw with Bentley yesterday. And the Flint (out) and Webster (in) scenario. We can’t risk leaving ourselves short. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dembele join on loan.
  18. Anyone reckon we could get a Joe Bryan situation? Imagine Semenyo leaving the Bournemouth medical to join Palace instead…
  19. This should kickstart Palace into gear. I believe the picture will change many times throughout the day. Southampton supposedly lurking too.
  20. If I’m honest, I think it’s great money for him. Do I believe he is a £15m player currently? No. I think £10m would be fair, anything more is fantastic. But he certainly has the potential to be a £15m-£20m player within 2 years or less, and is starting to show his ability in recent weeks. My concern is that he blows hot and cold in spells, as seen at the start of this season. However, he is our second most valuable player in the squad, and the money must reflect his value to us on the pitch, and I’m glad we aren’t backing down to the Prem teams. The only factor that pushes me to think we will sell, is his contract length. We won’t get this money offered again in the summer.
  21. IF the palace links are true (and reported bid) then it seems we are getting closer and closer to our valuation being met. The report says we value him at £15m and they have offered £12m. It would seem like a deal is likely to get done.
  22. A nice bit of shared information from each of us there. I just added on a separate post that Jed Steer might be a reasonable option. out of contract this summer, and cheap wages.
  23. Jed Steer might be a reasonable option. Third or Fourth choice at Villa. Out of contract at the end of the season. Went on loan to Luton last season for the second half of the season.
