  1. Brilliant form! Cant help but feel that Semenyo would be a perfect fit for Brentford. His style of play almost combines the strengths of Toney and Mbuemo.
  2. It seems as though he is crucial to most of our attacks. He has been brilliant.
  3. After todays performance…. brace yourselves for bids. He’s been excellent.
  4. Those ‘penalties’ seem like fun. I wonder if we could try one sometime?
  5. Kevin Long is having an absolute nightmare on his debut.
  6. Did Nige not say we had only received enquires?
  7. I think it’s a 4-3-3. GK - O’Leary RB - Tanner RCB - Vyner LCB - Atkinson LB - Pring CDM - Naismith CM - James CM - Scott RW - Sykes ST - Wells LW - Semenyo
  8. We have seen this scenario play out far too many times in the past. None of them ending favourably for us. However, can we get better this window? I’m not so sure at all. Risk vs Reward. Sell now for higher price, but run the risk of worse replacement and added risk of relegation. or Keep until the summer, but know his value would have dropped due to last year of contract. But yet, being able to finance summer deals. If the Conway and Weimann injuries didn’t occur, I would have been shouting ‘SELL’ from the rooftops. But it puts us in a vulnerable position as things stand.
  9. We are protected long-term with Scott. Teams either pay the fee, or walk away. Semenyo is the one I’m concerned about. If he is here past this window, we lose a big chunk of his value instantly due to his contract length. Scott’s value will remain the same, or increase, through to the summer.
  10. Different types of player IMO. Lemina is more of a Joe Williams type. They need to update their midfield options as they currently only have 3 players rotating (Neves, Nunes and Moutinho). I don’t think this ends the Scott interest.
  11. Just tried doing a stats check on Bentleys time with us, I got the following: 142 appearances (all comps) 30 clean sheets 188 goals conceded. Just for comparison, over the same time period: Bartosz Bialkowski (Millwall) 154 appearances 51 clean sheets 161 goals conceded. It may not seem like a huge difference from a statistical perspective. But it highlights the small margins that make the difference in this division. Millwall aren’t a team that score lots of goals, but their stable defence and keeper are what makes them a top half team each year.
  12. Do they still think Chris Hughton has agreed to become our next manager?
  13. The key element here, is that the buying Prem club will likely double their investment within the next 2 years. We want him to join the likes of Wolves, Palace, Villa etc as it allows for a future move to one of the big 6/7 clubs should he do well. If he were to join Tottenham (example), then the likelihood of a future move reduces. Whereas joining Wolves now, will allow us to insert a sell on % clause to benefit us again in the future. We will rightly demand a hefty fee for selling him though.
  14. Even if it gets half of his wages off the books for the rest of the season, it will help. it might give us some scope for a loan signing. Bajic was signed as a future Number 1. So it makes sense to promote him to the match day squad.
  15. I find the “drop your price tag, or we move on” threat hilarious. Off you go then! Our financial situation might not be very good at all, but Scott has so much interest from Prem clubs, one team will pay the asking price. We hold the cards here.
  16. Think he goes before the end of the window. £25m is great money for the championship. Any deal HAS to include a bonus for playing for England. I think he goes for in the region of 18-20m plus someone like Chem Campbell on loan. The rumours of wanting an attacking midfielder this window start to make more sense.
  17. Obviously not actual tears, but he seemed very down considering we managed to get back into the game and get a replay.
  18. Matty James’ post-match interview is extremely down-beat. Seemed almost on the verge of tears.
  19. It’s like a game of ‘Where’s Wally’ trying to find out midfield this afternoon.
  20. This is a painful watch. We are chasing shadows, and they are just bypassing our midfield so easily.
  21. Two demonstrations of how to play in possession here. Swansea showing all the right things to do. We are showing everything you shouldn’t do.
