So 4 hours previous to this post you were sure that it was FL and shags also said the same.

Now, you're saying it aint happening and shags has deleted his account.

    WTF is going on ?

Wouldn’t surprise me if the club are trying to leak stuff in order to catch the people leaking the info out.

Oh that is true, Nottingham Forest fans did like to call him Mad Mel well before it all went wrong!

Yes so long as we don't go OTT with it, not just for Lampard but for whoever.

I do concur on that point, but wouldn't mind us looking at Europe too.  One or two interesting Bundesliga names mentioned on here.

Of young managers I quite like the sound of Evatt at Bolton based on his strong work across 2 clubs, 3 divisions but he would lack pulling power I agree. He also likes to press high I think @Davefevs said so there is a reasonable tactical similarity.

I guess we’ll see his tactics in due time

Derby under Lampard, made some enormous financial losses, their wage bill under Lampard was probably between £35-40m. I say probably as we don't have a definite as they never released their accounts for the year. However we can get a rough idea.

He did okay there. He did okay at Chelsea, nothing more nothing less IMO. Blooded some good youth and lost Hazard but their squad was IMO a top 4 standard.

Understand that but Mel Morris was also  the chairman and obviously allowed that sort of wage structure. There was defo high earners there before he got there.

Im sure the lansdowns after hearing the interview are wary of not blowing the wage structure. I presume he’s probably been told he’ll be allowed some wriggle room to get a side strong enough to challenge.
Also Lampard is defo a more exciting appointment than Manning/Eustace surely?
Way more exposure and probably can attract way more higher quality players just due to the name

    Derby in play off final

average to reasonable season with Chelsea

    bombed at Everton

    bombed at Chelsea

    versus

    very good at Luton

    bombed at Stoke

    good at Luton

    bombed at Southampton

not saying Lampard is an amazing choice but Eff me, better than that Welsh so & so

Under an embargo at chelsea first season, second spell at Chelsea was always going to be difficult, they were awful last season. Everton have been struggling for years. Very good loan signings with derby and missed out promotion by a goal. I’m sure every city fan would be happy if some good premier league loans/signings came in and got us into the play offs. He’s obviously been told he’s going to be backed otherwise I doubt he’d come here.

Ive always been a cynic & thought it’s a clever tactic for clubs to carefully select their pre season opponents, based on teams playing styles we want to see played against ours that we wouldn’t play in a regular season.

No surprise to me now that we played Oxford, bankers bonus we drew them in the CC, and also no surprise we were willing to play Portsmouth away for Mousinho.

    Don’t you just think it’s a coincidence?

Meets the club at 11am today. That has come from a very good friend of his. HE WILL be our manager by the end of tomorrow Friday. He will be at Ashton Gate on Saturday to watch the team. I don't care if people want to dismiss what I've said, but my friend is someone who has known Frank since they were both at West Ham in the mid 90s and Frank has openly told him since Sunday afternoon, he wants this job. He sees us as an under achieving team who should be in the Premier League.

The posted above who said his agent met the club, that is not true in the slightest. Frank technically doesn't have an agent, he has a business manager, and financial consultant, but neither of those get involved in football related matters. He approached a member of our staff, and he was put in touch with someone. He spent 2 hours on the phone with them on Monday, saying why he wanted the job, and made it clear, he is serious about taking Bristol City to the Premier League.

Since then, he has been sorting out personal matters and meets the club today, but he wants the job. Also, I've read that people are saying Jody Morris will come with him, he won't. As said on the other thread the other day, Michael Johnson, the England Under 18 coach will be coming with him, as his assistant, not Jody. Frank is heavily impressed by our academy and youth development and thinks that he and Johnson can help progress a number of youngsters and take the club forward.

Call out all you want, say what you want, and if I am wrong I am wrong, but I won't be. Since Frank got in touch, the club turned their attentions away from Eustace and Rowett and feel that Lampard matches the clubs ambition and remit.

I will say it one final time, and wont be posting again until he is announced as manager, which means if he isn't, I wont post again full stop. Frank Lampard will be our new manager, he is expected to sign a deal today and it will be announced tomorrow, and he will be at the game on Saturday. Michael Johnson will assist him.

    Frank Lampard’s mate…

You make a reasonable point TBF. Not sure I really like the idea but you can’t argue his fame and the exposure that would give us.

You would also presume he’d be backed if he was to come here

  8. Yeah. My bank said they’ve took my payment twice for soton away tickets. Emailed them and they said payments only went through once, but check to see if the second payment has cleared from pending transactions in 3-7 days.

Lampard has one play off final with a bucket load of failure.

    Gets Steve’s vote!

Thought he didn’t do too bad with chelsea first time considering they was under an embargo. Everton have been a sh*tshow for years now. Derby was his first job in management.
I know it’s probably not the best appointment but maybe it could work

This one will be ruled out very soon. That's just bleeding obvious! We'll be going for much lower profile/wage demands.

Wasn’t there an article somewhere saying he’s desperate to get back into management. Can’t see him getting a prem job so maybe this would seem an interesting project for him. Does well and gets his name back out there
