It's probably more useful to think of it like this:

Perhaps you could consider King as an option at DM and argue that Naismith can then play as the LCB, but I think that takes Naismith out of his best position for us and relies a little too heavily on King who is moving further and further towards the 'coach' end of the player-coach role. Feels like realistically we still need 1 in at CB.

Looks strong now. Keeper, LCB and an attacking player imo and that should be fine.

    Anyway back to Scott.

It's looking more hopeful to me that we might yet get to watch him for another season.

I don't see any of the top 8 in for him at this time, maybe West Ham or Wolves coming in with bids but not matching our value. Don't see him going to the likes of Bournemouth even if they make a bid we would accept.

Scott seems a switched on lad with total confidence in his own ability that he could stay another season improve and get the move he would deserve the next season.

    Just my take on it.

West Ham surely most likely with 105 mill coming in. Wouldn’t surprise me if a bid came in soon

We currently play with one central striker, with Conway and Wells in the building, and Bell and Cornick able to lead the line I’m not sure we’ll look at strikers. Agree 10 and keeper are worth a look, but what we have in those positions is solid enough should we be unable.

Not sure those striking options are good enough to get you promotion tho. Conway In a couple years, yeah fair enough. But if we wanna reach play offs/promotion soon in my opinion we need another striker. (Like the new striker millwall just signed)

Surely we need to start offloading some soon, FFP although eased is still a matter to consider.

I'd say before offloading we can sign one more, two at a push, I'm often a bit on the cautious side financially though.

We could have 25mill+ coming from Scott soon. Plus wages saved from Bentley, Dasilva, Semenyo sale.

If we manage to complete this one, then I’m delighted.

It would be one of the best transfer windows for quite some time. Our squad would look much stronger, with genuine competition for places.

Pearson and Tins know exactly who they want. Knight fits the description from Tins ‘Sound of the City’ interview.

Keeper, striker and a 10 next if all goes well. But yeah, really positive start to the window

Gives us the option for both which is exciting.

352, and can have Atkinson McCrorie Dickie CBs with Naismith in CM.

442 could have McCrorie Naismith together in CM if ever needed.

McCrorie CM gives license for him to drop back into a CB position when Atkinson/Dickie/Naismith go on marauding runs. It’s all very fluid and exciting.

I know it’s hypothetical. But that’s missing out Vyner as well as if roberts signs who can play centre half. Suddenly our options look stacked at the back

Surely the second brighton offer him a new contract we would automatically have to go to tribunal to agree a fee, why wouldnt they have done that??

Who knows but doubt they really care, they’re gunna get 100 mill + for Mac allister and Caicedo. Probably least of their worries

If he signs Bryan won't be, he covers CB too.

If Bryan wasn't mentioned originally I'd have been over the moon with this deal.

why wouldn’t bryan sign? as previous posts have said it must mean kalas isn’t signing. Plus it’s cover for LCB which means Naismith can play in midfield
