Baffled that people would see to prefer Leeds go up than Ipswich.

I get the MA thing, but cmon... Ipswich as a club are a lot more palatable than 'super club' Leeds

It's just frustrating to see. Another club flying past us from League One to the Premier League whilst we tread water.

Why should we be looking at selling Conway? More upheaval, financially speaking heavy lifting..let's seem to keep him and show a bit of ambition within sensible financials of course.

He's given no indication that he wants to stay. I would be surprised if he's still here by the end of the summer transfer window.

Is a very interesting situation , I agree and most, including the club, probably do as well that a #10 and #9 are most important for the summer.

Sadly wanting someone to augment tommy is just out of the clubs hands now, down to TC. And tbh I would be very disappointed if we bring in two if TC leaves, would harshly limit SPHs opportunity to prove himself at this level which I feel he’s deserved after this campaign.

Another interesting situation with Twine as well, certainly hasn’t set the place on fire like some thought he would, but has he been given much of an opportunity to do so? As it is, we’ve yet to lose a game he’s started, and whilst his in game play can be a bit physically weak at times, I’d be tempted to sign him based off his set piece ability alone. Not worth £4m but if we could get him for £2-2.5m? I’d go for it personally.

As would I. Not seen any names that offer better value at that price point but am happy to be shown otherwise.

It’s called choosing your moment isn’t?  LM is smart to know when he can use these comments or not.  Nige used to also.

On a good run, it’s exactly the time to push home what you want.

Like you I think it’s the 9 and 10 in, and everything else is a reaction to outgoings.  But the size of squad won’t be massive.

I think on paper that's all we need. Defence is fine, midfield is ok with Williams in the squad. Just need that extra quality going forward.

    Sitges is lovely.

Sitges was a really pleasant surprise for us, we've said we'd stay there again and do more day trips to Barcelona. Very easy to get to and from and the train journey goes right along the cliff edge, has stunning views all the way along the route.

It's not even that I think Bournemouth represents a terrible move or anything  just that sometimes it can be best for development to properly hone your craft one more year.

Of course if it is about the £ and the possibility that he hits the ground running I get it.

He had no indication that we would've been a serious promotion candidate if he stayed with us. If we looked like we could've been up there then we'd have had a much better argument to keep hold of him for another season.

Whilst we can't compete with Premier League wages, we've got to get in a position where players believe they can reach the top flight with City, not via City. I think at the minute we're viewed as a stepping stone.

  7. Another recommendation of La Boquaria, very enjoyable to walk around and try bits. I'm considering a tour of it next time I visit.

A day trip to Sitges is well worth considering too, I stayed there last time I visited and got the train to Barcelona from there. 40 minutes each way and cheap as chips.

The Scott point is an interesting one. Did he make the leap a year too soon or has he made the right call.

He has had injuries and that wonderful assist v Fulham on Boxing Day but highlights have been modest for him.

Conway certainly isn't PL ready yet, a higher ranked Championship club never know.

The lone striker thing, quite a lot of clubs now play just one through the middle. Yes I know 4-3-3, 4-5-1 and 4-2-3-1 all have different characteristics and the service to our strikers has lacked at times this year.

Overall sadly I don't see him signing. Having said that the play until May 2025 and take a Tribunal I'd be inclined to favour.

He's had injuries and it takes time to step up. I think he'll be much improved next season if he stays fit.

I don't want to be a right negative dick, because I like Joe Williams,, but is 2 goals an 9 assists in 3 years, warranting top money?

Think we should try and punch higher tbh

Goals and assists aren’t the measure of a centre midfielder.

I'm not specifically looking for a match worn one nor one specifically from the 1987 FRT final
a regular 1986-1988 away shirt version would also be great

Are there many out there? I'm not constantly looking but do keep an eye out for older City shirts and haven't ever seen one from that season pop up.

We had a match worn one in the family but the player asked for it back :( Can't blame him, it's a beauty.

    Hey Harry,

We have a massive rivalry with Antwerp.

Our biggest rivals are Anderlecht, but since Antwerp is back in the top league, they're a close second.

It's especially Antwerp that hates our guts.

This rivalry is fueled by the fact that the presidents of both clubs are real estate tycoons who hate eachother to the bone.

The president of Antwerp tried to build the national stadium, but was blocked by the president of Club Bruges influence in the board of the football federation.

The president of Club Bruges tried to build a new stadium for Club Bruges, but was blocked by the fact the Antwerp president bought land bourdering the new stadium ground, just to block the permit...

If your friends are proper Antwerp fans, they wouldn't want to be in the same room with us.  That's how deep it goes.

    Thanks for the info, btw.

I'm sure we'll visit one or more  of your famous pubs 🙂

That sort of pettiness is incredible! Love it.

Was saying this myself earlier, we’ve seen some recent improvement with Knight dropped back into the midfield 2 and then today he’s pushed forwards again and like you say James and Williams are too slow in possession.

We looked better changing to a back 4 at half time and that certainly brought Sykes into the game as he looked disinterested in the first half I thought.

I’ve been critical of Mehmeti but he’s been lively lately and he should have started allowing Knight to drop back.

But the back 3 certainly didn’t work today and maybe that was because of the personnel available.

would still love to see Nakhi and Tommy together but doesn’t look like that will happen again.

Thought the ref was pretty good today

They’ve been poor together since they started as a pairing. Both good individually just need someone to progress with the ball alongside them.

I did think it was odd how Bayern were being written off. They have too many good players.

They’ve been poor and Arsenal have gifted them two goals.

What a player Saka is though, this is why he starts for England. Bayern kicking lumps out of him, doubling up on him and he’s still the brightest spark on the pitch.

And that's so true -my 24 year old is full of optimism come Friday evening and Saturday morning but by 15:05 he becomes inconsolable and best avoided until just before the next game.

I'm of a similar age, was he not broken by the disappointment of David James conceding 3 on his debut fresh off a World Cup appearance? That taught me City will always let us down and I still haven't recovered.
