Ok here’s what will happen. Steve will unbox the nest egg over the next three windows. We’ll buy 8-10 players.
We will sell our best players.
We will still be in mid table. But playing a different brand of football with an increased playing squad.
Manning will be fired in December 2025. Along with Tinnion.
and then we will start again. With no real plan or continuity.
Dressed as a dandy highwayman (not a sea-going bandit) we all sing in unison:
".... so unbox the nest egg, and do us all a favour (/buy us all a striker)"

I like to think that it will never, ever, be quite as bad as that again, but I always fear we have another epic calamitous decline in us .....

I only found out that Arsenal v Bristol City game in August 1976 had second half live commentary,
can't think there could have been anything earlier.
Pretty sure it was West Ham in 90/91 mate, don't think we've had one (start) earlier than that ...

It's what has made football what it is today, people being cool, rational and level-headed. Take the Kop in the 60s and 70s, or the Auld Firm, or Argentinian football from year dot. Daft fools, getting all emotional.

So, just over-ride yer instincts, yer (pesky) feelings.
Are we not bland enough already?

With a performance like we just had, this could be a cricket score
0 for 1? 1 for 2? 3 for 2? 2 for 3? 22 for 2? 222 for 2??

Also remember seeing Michael Grade in the pub (not sure now if it was the Wedlock’s or the Nova Scotia?) before the Charlton FA Cup tie the year we knocked Liverpool out (so in ‘94) they beat us at AG & I’m pretty sure then drew Man U away.
Good chance we were there together?
Probably. It was rammed in there before that game. Very disappointing result

The last time I was in Wedlock`s was before the Kingstonian cup game in 2001.
I have no idea why I remember that.
Pretty sure Alan Yentob was in there that day ....

We did the double over Arsenal that season, good effort that

Last time I remember being in Wedlock's was the day of Charlton in the FA Cup, as I was going out the door Michael Grade was walking in (like he was walking on to a yacht). Was he wearing a hat? Was he smoking a cigar? Was he giving "it" the "big 'un" ? Had Les Kew not known who the frug he was/turnt him away from the Directors' Lounge? I'll say yes but don't hold me to it.

HC and HNY to one and all - we may occasionally disagree on City matters but we all just want what's best for the club, enjoy the season and don't eat too much
... because you've probably been eating too much all year, and too much processed shite.
However, if you have been eating like it's 1946 recently, or 1646, and have also spent the last six weeks dutifully making yer own mincemeat, Christmas cake, Christmas pud, yule log, mince pies, stuffing , gravy and bread Source, then get bloody stuck in and eat all you can.

Not sure he was ever asked to play front foot, gegen pressen, high tempo Englosh football, Sat-Tues-Sat, ever mind away to Stoke in the rain.
The game's completely different now.
Benarous has a mountain to climb. But I'm praying for him 100%.
He could play Sat-Sat and skip the Tuesdays?
