Had we played three sets of football there and not five, we'd have won that.

Well each to their own. You obviously see clubs size of how many fans turn up…
I look at trophies.
Any trophies?

Mem. The Mem. I've never been there.

Any stats to back that up?
Yeah, there's the record of home wins over the last two to three seasons and I've got some somewhere on the
probabilityinevitability that when Billy Sharp next appears 1. S82 will call him a **** 2. Sharp will score 3. Sharp will cup his ear to S82 4. S82 will call him a **** -

What's the problem with giving the opposition players a hard time?
It tends to backfire.

Call me an old ********** but to paraphrase the rt honourable John Major, I'd like to see that corner get back to basics, with a little less displaying and a little more singing (and maybe dancing, to throw in a bit of Mike Gatting for good measure).

I remember doing something similar after Michael Owen scored his wonder goal against Argentina, at the 1998 World Cup. My then 6 month old daughter was in floods of tears and I had to take her into the garden.
Ditto, me, eldest daughter, 3 at the time, enjoying the novelty of watching telly with me at breakfast, same goalscorer, four years later v Brazil. She's not in to any sport at all now.

Could be a good time to play them. Not many teams gel as a unit straight away following a summer overhaul. They got beat 3-0 by Posh last weekend, too.
Last weekend was a good time to play them, certainly

Have long thought: Working for Steve Lansdown had some potential terrace anthem about it (if only Stormzy or Adele or someone 2022 would cover it):
"They put up a bedsheet saying: Get yer Johnson Out
Working for .... "
"The kingdom is ransacked, the jewels all taken back .... what are we going to do now?" is a fairly apt opening line too.
I'll try it on the "No chance Chants" thread and let you know how it goes down ....

Just to confirm...HNM's Agent/Advisor is his father.
He, his wife and 5 sisters moved here to be with Han.
If Jane Austen was alive today, she'd be writing about this type of domestic carry on (from the - eldest - sisters' perspective, not Han's lack of "goals and assists"), with Mark Ashton as a dashing if misunderstood Mr Darcy perhaps ....

To be fair to the gas they were in the 2nd Division and mostly top half at that time
They didn't manage to finish top half of the old Second Division once in their 75-81 effort - best was 15th. Didn't manage top half in 91, 92, 93 either (best was 13th). Last time Rovers managed top half of the second tier of English football was before sexual intercourse began,1960.

I was a strong supporter of LJ, and for a long period thought that he would lead us to the Prem.

LJ was given even better resources - whatever happened to him?
He went to Sunderland, mate. Then he went from there to Hibs, they're in Scotland. Where does he go from there? Further north again, I reckon

I still find the signing of Palmer the most baffling since Terry Cooper signed Jimmy Harvey in 1987, played him three times and immediately sold him again.
Beginning of the end for poor TC around then. Tony Caldwell signed the same year and only 17 games. A few months in to '88 and TC was gone. A year or so later JJ brings in Gary Shelton in midfield and Bob Taylor up front. Bit more like it.
Someone should start a football programme: Recruitment, Recruitment, Recruitment.
